Mahindra Thar Roxx walk around with Pratap Bose | evo India

The wraps are off the 5-door Mahindra Thar Roxx. And the headline news is the pricing - a stunning Rs 12.99 lakh for the MX1 petrol manual and Rs 13.99 lakh for MX1 diesel manual. In this video Chief Creative Officer and Design Head of Mahindra Automotive, Pratap Bose takes Editor Sirish Chandran on a walk-through of the exterior styling of the new Thar Roxx. Pratap tells Sirish that the grille is called the 6-pack grille!
No mechanical details have been revealed but the Thar Roxx has a longer wheelbase than 3-door Thar. Gets a Penta Link rear suspension with Watts Linkage. Tyres are upgraded to 19-inch on the top-end version. Only the diesel gets the option of 4x4 with a mechanical locking rear differential. The petrol sticks with rear-wheel-drive. The Thar Roxx gets a metal roof with a massive panoramic sunroof.
Thar Roxx gets a dead pedal for the automatic. Grab handles are there on the A- and B-pillars. There’s a remote fuel filler release, don’t have to use the key anymore. No ADAS on the Roxx but it does get a Harman Kardon sound system.
Thar Roxx is a five-seater and there’s plenty of space at the back. Boot looks adequately spacious. However the interiors are all white which could be a problem in Indian conditions.
