On this day at Tokyo 2020, Lamont Marcell Jacobs claimed 🥇 in the Men's 100m final with a blistering time of 9.80! The first one to congratulate him? None other than teammate Gianmarco Tamberi who had just been declared winner in the Men's High Jump!

4 years ago long jumper Jacobs decided to move to 100mt. He is world indoor, double olympic, duoble european championships . Nr.4 all time 60mt ranking.
"Never achieved anything before" is an embarrassing statement and very misinformed. He, like many great sprinters, moved into 100m sprinting after doing long jump, because a lot of long jumpers discover they are even better sprinters during their development.
Marcell has had injury problems recently, and he is not Usain Bolt, or Gaye, or Gatlin, he won the greatest olympic competition, he will never do it again, just like many sprinters, or maybe he will.
But the guy is not finished, he's relatively new to sprinting, he's not going to win every competition he competes in, and he's going to be inconsistent.
