If any song ever written should be a national anthem, it's this one. And sung by such brilliant voices. Heart-stopping for whoever you are, wherever you are.
You just can’t beat a good tenor..unless it’s ten of them!
Someone explain something to me: I'm not Australian. I've never even been to Australia. So why does this song move me so much? I'm practically in tears every time I hear it.
There are a LOT of stories floating around about this great land Down Under. Some are true, and some are total BS, (just spinning a yarn for the tourists) .. lol .. but we are very patriotic, and a huge mob of lovable larrakins. This song brings ME to tears, and I was born here. Track down the version (original) by Peter Allen. This was his signature song, he is also Australia's most favoured Southern Son, from hardship through his youth, to international success with his music, a typical example of what it means to BE Australian. There are many Aussies here that believe that THIS song should be our National Anthem
Despite everything this song reminds me that I love my country and I mean love it. My heart is here and always will be no matter where I go.
The power of brilliant songwriting.
I think I can help answer that. Australia is a country of 24 million people - but has the 13th largest economy in the world by GDP.
We are home to oldest constant civilisation on the planet but are now characterised by a bunch of battlers who came from criminal beginnings to make names for themselves over the last 230 years.
We get that, while we're respected, we'll never be a major player in international politics. But our country is breathtakingly beautiful and her people are, in the most part, happy and kind.
So, despite the fact that we even have plants that can kill you, I'll always call Australia home - no matter how far I roam :-)
Julie Parkinson our Australian identity is now trying to be chipped away bit by bit... don't let them have it!
this hits me in that special spot every time. im so proud to be australian. my forefathers sacrificed so much to migrate to australia and change the lives of future generations of our family forever. i will always make sure my children will remember that.
Let’s have a thought for all those in Australia who lost home and belongings, for all the damage inflicted across the country by these terrible wildfires, and pay our respect to all those who’ve left jobs and beloved ones to go as a selfless sacrifice risk their lives for others. Be strong Australia!
Oh my .... I miss Australia so much! I miss my son over there.
I’m from Tasmania, a “ring in” for 50+ years. Am with family in Melbourne at present BUT miss Tassy greatly and am only an hour away. Home is where the heart is. 🥰🥰
I love my country and know that being Australian is a blessing from God. I pray that when my end is near, I'm in my dear country!
I'm not Australian but after being there and getting to know the aussies, this song makes me feel a lot! How lucky the people that born in Australia! I just wanna go back
This is an amazing performance . This is my mothers favorite song as she is extremely proud of her Australian heritage. My mother has dementia and can no longer speak or carry on a conversation, but when played this song she sings along.
Give me TIM MINCHINS version all day long.
Still call Australia home-
Aphobic
Favourite.
Proud young Aussies with lovely voices and song, from a Kiwi who is proud to be a neighbour.
Beautifully rendered song. Displays the brilliance of Peter Allen's composing.
I love this song. Very proud to be an Australian. i always have tears in my eyes listening to this. I would neverlive in another country. I have seen the world I love coming home
I absolutely agree. I get teary when when we land but I have the biggest smile on my face. There’s no place like it. 🇦🇺
As an Aussie who lives abroad, this song makes me bawl every single time :'(
Emily Wright hi baby how are you very nice you and you Place.name.what there
Emily Wright hi baby
Are you a drama teacher?
As an Australian ExPat myself I also like listening to the song "I still call Australia 🇦🇺 Home"
I love my country Australia. I am truly very lucky and i am grateful. Such a beautiful country. When things are tough as it is now with a huge majority of thr country is on drought, we all pull together to help!
Me too
I do love my country,Australia!!!
It’s not where we live, it’s who we are and what we believe. And I believe there is a little bit of Australia in everyone. And whenever any person hears this song, it will bring a tear, openly to the eye or hidden in the heart. Dpoet
This song makes a lot of people tear up because, it can also be interpreted as going HOME on your own very LAST journey when your end is near.
Oh how can you not tearup hearing this beautiful song , those beautiful shots of Sydney Harbour , the sunset , & that handsome pic of Alan at the end , captures Australia's spirit perfectly , we miss you Mate
Very proud Australian ..love this song
What a stunning performance. Hit reply 3 times!!
The Best l have ever heard.
Especially now, when a trip home isn't possible.... this song is so bittersweet. As soon as restrictions lifted and it's safe to fly straight to Melbourne for as long as I can!
1:03 there good! But the version of this song sung by Kristi Cox and friends is a tear jerker. Well it is for me because my late wife was from Australia and she left her home to come to the United States just to marry me ❤. I got very teary eyed when I hear this song.
Man have these 10 got GREAT VOICES!!!!
Better to have one, but with a voice. 😉
Peter wrote a great song for his home this is it!! Thanks Peter for a wonderful song The Ten Tenors do it justice thankyou!!!
I went to the Australian Outback Spectacular on the Gold Coast recently and they performed this song to finish the show. The story in the show was a tribute to our farmers who are currently battling the drought. It was very moving and emotional, and once this song started up I was really struggling not to burst into tears in public.
I am so proud and so thankful to be Australian!
I´ve been in Australia and I understand why are You so proud and thankful. It is a beautiful country with brave and beautiful people.
I heard this song first time last year at Australian Outback Spectacular and now it’s my fav.
the power of a good philaharmonic symphony should not be underestimated.
Very beautiful and yes I love Australia and her marvelous people.❤❤
Sheer musical and vocal talents combined - Brilliant!
I've been to cities that never close down
From New York to Rio and old London town
But no matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.
I'm always travelin'
And I love bein' free
So I keep leavin' the sun and the sea
But my heart lies waiting over the foam
I still call Australia home.
All the sons and daughters spinning 'round the world
Away from their families and friends
Ah, but as the world gets older and colder
It's good to know where your journey ends.
And someday we'll all be together once more
When all the ships come back to the shore
Then I realize something I've always known
I still call Australia home.
No matter how far
Or how wide I roam
I still call Australia home.
God, I wish this was our anthem.
Great songs👏👏👏👏
I'm an American (from New York). I've not been to Australia yet. But man, this hits me in the feels for some reason.
Because it captures the spirit of the greatest country on earth
@@williambristow9610 yes Australia is the greatest country on earth. I know firsthand. England (where I used to live) sucks. No offense to any Britons.
this is such a wonderful group of men with such talented voices ! loved it
I'm not from Australia, but downloaded this on my phone :)
Love 10 tenors❤️
If I ever move to another country for years on end, I would keep this in my head and sing this whenever I get the chance.
Sunday march 7,2021 and listening to beautiful voices singing my favourite Australian song, The words, the melody, the voices make me homesick for the gum trees, meat pies & sausage rolls even though I live in Honolulu.

When I travel out of Australia, I worry I will die away from my beloved country.
Im an Aussie living abroad and when I hear this song brings back good childhood memories growing up in Australia. This song makes me so emotional. We are very lucky to grow up & live in Australia. Im going home in 6 months time to see my mother as I havent seen her since before the pandemic. Aussie aussie aussie oi oi oi!

😍👏🏼
Voce merAvigliose
オーストラリアに一年間留学していました。この曲は留学中にあった出来事を思い出せるいい曲ですねー
Do we get to choose one of the guys after the performance like in Thailand?
I love oz landscaping, kola bears, kangaroo etc as unique animals, casual, easy going life with good communities and different cultures and a lot of festivals and a lot of community activities and a lot of exhibitions/shows, camping ground, more family oriented and more ethical value and less frauds.
era para eles terem se apresentado em São Paulo em março 2020. a pandemia impediu. Esta belíssima canção, de PETER ALLEN, menciona o Rio de Janeiro. O ator Hugj Jackman fez nos palcos o musical THE BOY FROM OZ, do qual esta canção faz parte.
hate Me for it but, not a single minority in this.
to me Australia is a mix up of culture and ive always being proud of it. good job boys though, amazing singers
Sad that there is no mention of PETER ALLEN who wrote the song.
Are you actually saying this performance you watched has offended you, or someone else maybe? And it has had an effect on your mental health such as Sadness or Depression.
Or are you accusing someone of Cryptomnesiac or Plagiarism? which would be pretty stupid as " EVERYBODY KNOWS WHO WROTE IT" It is not a Peter Allen Tribute concert, It is Their Concert
also this is a snipit of the full concert have you seen the full version and checked that it wasn't mentioned at some
stage.
This performance by The 10 Tenors is the of highest degree, and a classy, this is how this song stays alive.
But your not satisfied..
Or are just low life antagonist?
I hope you don't call Australia home.
Feel that way about Waltzing Matilda.
i was watching this bc i needed to find this song not to find out that is my music teacher right there in this video
Compare this with "Advance Australia Fair".
and we all know which one is crap.
Either this, "Waltzing Matilda" or I am Australian" in my opinion.
@@XenithXenaku Waltzing Matilda is iconic, but not particularly patriotic. Someone used the tune and put new lyrics on it to make "God Bless Australia", which I think would be a brilliant anthem.
Always remember, the "Advance Australia Fair" we know today is not the original. The original is what people expected when they voted, and it would be been a very good anthem.
I still don't how we wound up with that stupid @#$%ing "Advance Australia Fair" as our national anthem when I hear this!
Ö
I am still Australian passport holder only
I heard Hermman Vandershot fart at the 1.03
Makes me sad..the youth of today will never know the beauty what was lost to mass non EU immigration 😞
I can sing this song
If anyone wants an Australian song that actually says something, that's not Midnight Oil or the Whitlams: czcams.com/video/83v4zvgA0AA/video.html:
