- Custom radiator covers for a customers rental property. All made from MDF. My process and how 8 covers take up a lot of valuable room in the shop.

Awesome specual effect sounds.
Thank you!
Great video and helpful to see someone build these radiator covers.
Thank you
Great video, lot of work went into those covers, although you made it look easy, the end result were awesome -- great job !
Thanks. Only if mine were that nice when I had them.
You failed to mention the actual thickness of your material ?
3/4 inch on all. Thanks
Hi do find find pocket hole is better than a biscuit machine ,thanks 🏴❤️👍
They both have different applications
what is the math to figure out the slat spacing, width, etc?
I just take the total width of the opening and divide by the amount of space between 2 slats and fudge the number until all are equally centered and the reveal on both ends are equal. I know there is a proper method, but this works for me.
I'm looking to try to make something like you did. I was wondering how would it be to use pocketholes for the slots so they sit flush with the front. I'm fairly new at woodworking so just trying to learn!!
I think that would be fine ...a lot of drilling for sure but shouldn't be a problem. Just be careful on the thickness of the slats. If too thin they you may have some splitting. Thanks for the question
@@JoePalumbo221 ty so much joe, really appreciate the help!!
What size of pocket hole jig pls ,👍🏴
Not sure what size your referring too
Joe. Can you tell me how wide your rails and styles are?
To be honest I don't remember. I want to say 4.5 inches on both rails and styles.
@@JoePalumbo221 ty
I did mine 4 inch rails. It’s esthetically pleasing. Anything more than that might be a bit too thick.
Yes I believe they were 4 inches wide.
Hi @JoePalumbo221, Great work! Would you be interested in making one for me? If I can place an order with you. Super interested, Let me know..
Thank you! That would all depend on where you live?
@@JoePalumbo221 I'm in the Greater Boston area if that's a possibility
@@maxvarma8118 I live in RI so that would be an issue. What exactly are you looking have done?
Very helpful video! I'm about to tackle the task of making 7 of these for the steam radiators in my house. I'm sure it'll take me quite a bit more time, but luckily I can store them in place til i get around to painting them. What's your opinion on the use of of MDF vs. Plywood or solid pine?
I think MDF will be more stable considering the amount of moisture that the radiator puts off. With a a good finish there should be no expansion or contraction. With pine, unless it's extremely sealed and well prepped opens up a tone more issues. Thanks for watching!
