Hey Victor. I know there's nothing I can really say that will make a big impact and I'm not sure if you'll even see this but here goes. Depression is one of those misunderstood things, it's not just sadness or loneliness. It goes a lot deeper than that and it's different for everyone. It runs in my family; my sister, my dad and my mum are all affected and I've seen it all my life. If you do see this, please just know that your video's have genuinely contributed to me not joining them. They give me that little pick me up I need whenever I feel like running away from the world. You've been doing that for years, even now. Thank you for the years of happiness you have brought me, Victor. I wish you the best of luck for the future. It gets better. Today Dtr8x shared a quest crew anniversary greetings and it reminded me of you. Hope you are doing well. Im 33 so I think you guys are the same age. And getting older changes you. So I get it if social media is not your thing anymore. Just letting you know lots of ppl remembers you and wishes you well

I don't understand how people get depressed. Especially people in the Western world where one's struggles is no where near to those who are truly suffering from poverty and war. I've felt depressed before but it never lingered. Is it really that hard for others to find happiness? :/
Poverty and war are not the only sources of depression, my friend. Events, experiences, and other things happen in people's lives and it doesn't happen in an instant. It accumulates over time to the point that a person gets depressed.
Do you think just because you're well off that you can't have depression? In fact most depressed people live in well of countries. Of course poverty and war can directly depress an individual but in western countries it's so much more subtle, and develops over time to the point where they become depressed. I guess you could say in this world, no matter where you are, depression exists.
yeah I agree.. I've been depressed from normal things but longest was probably like 3 days? then it faded away.. idk how people hold onto and still be sad.. I look past it remembering it to make me stronger

It's sort of difficult to become depressed extremely quickly in a well off environment, but instead it's more of the smaller things that seem to catch up to you overtime. Eventually it keeps building and building, and I, as for many others, may not really have a way to deal with it. The build up creates a barrier of hurt, sadness, sorrow, mournings, etc. that your brain keeps reminding you of. I'm speaking of my own experiences, so this may not be the same for everyone. Since most of my family, except for my mom and dad, had gotten killed in war trying to escape over here (before I was born so I've never met any of them). I haven't had any experience with grieving a major loss. Which is why I've been slowly trying to build up enough strength for when the two most important people in my life leave this world...I'll be able to accept that whoever is on the other side has brought them to a better place. Life isn't simple. There is no set plan you can follow to find the happiness you seek out for in this world. You always have to work for it, and in the process of trying to achieve the dream goal...crazy things happen. Then the build up of events begins, and sooner or later. You have time to sit and think about where you're at in life, and some people are happy with their lives, but many usually aren't. I think a big possibility of depression is comparing their own lives to successful people which creates this mindset of achieving what these successors have. It's a good mindset to have because you're actually doing something, but bad because you aren't that person you're trying to be, or be better than. Depression is everywhere no matter what situation you're in. Again, speaking from my own experiences. Not saying this is the formula or cause of depression. It's what I've concluded overtime.
My father told once told me that everyone despite who they are and how much money they make all have problems of their own and you need to be open minded towards them.
Come on vic, just think about the positives you have. A crew of best friends, a HUGE and supportive fan base THAT is still waiting for you to show up. Positivity is first, negativity is last. I was expecting you to show up in the finals from quest crew and dance with them. just so to reunite like finally. We're expecting you to stay, so don't go.
I'm sure this question already got asked a thousand times but despite my best efforts I haven't gathered much info about the reason(s) why Victor Kim got into depression in the first place. So if someone could enlighten me, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks in advance and sorry for English is not my native tongue.
