This version of Dongfang Bubai portrayed by this actress was a real woman while the other actresses who portrayed Dongfang Bubai before this actress, their versions of the character were trans women.
In the original story she's not the main character but in this story she is the main character. She dominated like 85% of the screen time. Had like 100% of the romance with the protagonist.
They should do a whole movie on the swordsman online mini movie. Seems almost like a sequel to swordsman 2013. I hope so. Joe chen is awesome acting dfbb part.

I disagree with Joe Chen as ying ying. Out of the whole cast, Chen qiao en is still the best choice to portray Dongfang bubai who is an evil leader of unparrelled power and grace with underlying tones of seductiveness. Chen qiao en's talents would be wasted in a annoying role like ying ying's.
But she didn't die. Didn't you see the very end of the movie her eyes opened. The movie had it twisted ending because even though he married Yang Yang his heart would always bring him back to the lake where DFBB was sleeping. That pretty much tells you where his heart belongs. Ying ying won his body but not his heart
this version of xiao ao jiang hu is way different from the previous one. at first when i saw DFBB i had the awkward feeling that he was a guy that already became an eununch as he cut off his wee wee but then i thought why would a female actress be playing as him? then i realized they changed the storyline a bit. DFBB is actually a woman with affection towards Ling hu chong! awkward at first but i like the twist. and this ying ying isnt as cute as the previous version :o

they changed the actual whole story plot. Joe Chen is actually the bad guy. but she gets a lot of screen time with ling hu chong. LOTS. so pretty much....yep! shes the main character with Wallace. seriously....they should have made Joe Chen as Ying Ying.
