Anna's First Flight!. She went from Terrified to In love in just a few minutes.

- Anna was the last of my four daughters to go flying with me in the family Cub. She was really really afraid at first but shortly after take off she started to like it. By the time we landed I think she really really loved it. Small steps are key. I first started by just bringing her around the airport, then had her sit in the plane, then just Taxi and finally she was ready to at least try it! We had a great time and I think we may have a future pilot on our hands!

To all those that said this is a bad thing….your just flat out wrong. This is creating amazing memories and sparking an interest in a passion. Keep up the amazing job and keep flying.

My daughter’s first flute was similar.
She said she wanted to go for aride in our airplane.
As we took off she started to cry. I said what is the matter?
She said “Oh Daddy I just wanted to taxi around.”
We got in the pattern and landed.
By that time she was laughing.

This is flat out one of the most wholesome and adorable videos I have ever seen. I loved your reaction when she said she loved flying airplanes and daddy. As a girl dad myself I can vouch for there not being a batter feeling than the love given to you from your daughter. Totally awesome video Joe, thanks for sharing with us!

My wife was listening as I watched the video and said that mommy probably wasn’t too thrilled with the idea … lol … you handled the flight masterfully… and with the smooth sunset conditions have introduced your daughter to the world of flying … not many dads can achieve that 👍🏻

You have great passenger management skills. Loved pointing out the window to distract her to pull the carb heat. Gave me some new tips and tricks flying with people and especially kids

Great job taking her flying and talking to her the whole time to keep her calm, I think she was hooked shortly after takeoff.
That's how I started with my dad, I don't remember the first flight, I'm over 70 now, but it definitely hooked me for airplanes and flying. I spent my childhood going with my dad. He was a CFI and I went every time he went to the airport.
I coukd go flying every time but I was at the airport and planes. Got to "help" a lot of the owners there, and got a lot of flights that way as well.
Cherish these memories and now you have video documentation to show her in a few years. 👍👍

What a great video! I got my PPL years ago at the Flying W when I was a young Air Force officer. Now I live across the river in the Philly suburbs. I have an 8 and 13 yr old daughter I’ve never taken flying. After my Air Force career, I’m a wide body legacy cargo Captain, but this video has motivated me to go get checked out in a GA plane to take my girls airborne. Fly safe and this was amazing!

The first time with my daughter was similar. I was a nervous wreck making sure she was good and I didn't get distracted by her. Ever since she goes with me almost every time. C172 was first, Aeronca Sedan is our favorite.
