- In this video I demonstrate how we install a subfloor on top of a tiny house trailer when we are using an insulation other than closed cell spray foam.

Where did you buy the metal flashing?
Wait, you’re putting untreated pine directly on the metal frame? Aren’t you worried about condensation and it rotting?
I was thinking the same what should you do instead though
@@hurricanesun77 they make sill gasket, which is designed to be between the framing and concrete foundation of a house.
Hey Dan. Thanks for this video. I'm curious about the bolt attachments of the subfloor ot the trailer frame. Are you only attaching the joists at either end to the metal flange (ie 2 bolts per joist)? Or are you also bolting the subfloor to the runner beams in the middle (ie 4 bolts per joist)?
Good question didn't notice that. It looks like just the ends. I am wondering if the drilling in the tube steel would degrade its strength.
What then after did you anchor the walls to?
Hello
You can use magic roof material to cover the roof, which is much more resistant and prevents the structure from shaking
I'm not sure what that is.
So you bolted the joists the walls will catch a lot of wind what stops the house not too fly off
I think I would use a 4x4 in place of that 2x4 when anchoring to the frame. Not much meat on the outside of that there anchor bolt
where do you buy your trailer and how much do you pay??
What is the length and with of the trailer? What is the height, length and weight of the tiny house to be attached? What type of truck can reasonable accommodate this type of hauling?
This is a 24' trailer. The trailer is also 96" wide, which matches the width of the framing. The total width of the house ended up being 102". You would need an f350 class truck to tow this.
did you use 2x4's for the foundation ?
Yes
Dan how come you didn't place the insulation with the trailer framing to increase the head room? Are you not able to attach the subfloor directly to the trailers internal framing?
You can skip the subfloor and attach the sheathing directly to the trailer, however, it is very difficult to properly insulate in that case since the metal is hollow and not a good insulator.
So how many have you sold
We've sold over 2000 trailers
