Thanks for showing. $200a month for a house with a nice pool. Can’t go wrong.
Yeah, we are really happy with the deal - good neighbours, great location, and the pool are the icing on the cake!
Thank you for all the videos! I will be moving to Cambodia next year, so these videos of yours have been a great help.
That's great Matthew. Really pleased you found them useful.
Nice tour for your apartment! It's good that you have a pool to cool down especially when it gets hot over there!
It's lovely! We went in this afternoon after a long and dusty ride - it's so good to have it there :)
Wow nice place 👏👌. Thanks for sharing Claire stay safe take care looking forward to more great videos. 🤗
Cheers, Graham! We're really enjoying living here and being so close to the riverfront. Hope you're going well :)
Wayyy Kool. Thx a Ton for the Post.
Thanks James! 🙂🙏🛵🍭🍭🍭
Thanks for apartment tour. I really like the area you guys live. Great video!
Thanks so much Richard! The area is great because we are so close to the riverfront. There's often a nice cool breeze here too.
That was really quite the deal. I love the loft look kind of apartments. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much! I've always wanted to live in a loft-style apartment - never thought it would be in Cambodia, though :)
Such a cool apartment guys. Love the bum gun and yellow chairs :) Keep those liquid supplies up in case of lockdown!
Thanks Neen! You make a small appearance at 11:07 :)
Great find, bargain!!!
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed bread knives are a scarce commodity here...
Haha, yeah they are so hard to find! All the knives we found in the shops and markets are smooth blade :)
Thanks for the tour!
No worries, and thank you for watching!
Now that is a nice little crib. And a very thorough tour if I might say. Great vid. Stay cool. Later.
Glad you like it! It's a really good fit for us and having the pool is a great bonus :)
Hi Jeremy and Claire , thanks for the grand tour , a really nice comfy apartment , love the way you utilize all the space , really creative filling the plastic jugs with water , and using them as weights , was so disappointed to hear about Rehash Trash going under , such a wonderful group of ladies , doing such needed and very creative work , it would be nice if they can somehow make a comeback when things get better , a longer time lease usually saves a buck or two , good job Jeremy , looking forward to your next adventure , take care of yourselves , Peace ...
Hey Brian, yeah it was a real shame when Rehash Trash closed. I went to their closing down sale, must have been in April last year. It was really sad to see, but in some ways better than limping along for another year trying to stay afloat like so many other businesses in Siem Reap. At least the women had a chance of finding other work before things got really bad. I also hope they can reopen at some stage. Surely there's a market for an online store that ships their lovely wares around the world. It's a beautiful day out there - time to go on another adventure! Take care and stay safe :)
To Aussies: When covid first happened, toilet paper sold out of your supermarkets? The bum gun she was referring to, is the local version of the French Bidet. The French were right, ditch your toilet paper fascinations. Also, water pressure varies in Cambodia. If you're staying anywhere for a significant length of time, install a tap on your bum gun where the hose connects to the wall. and similar water outlets. You half close it on the bum gun to reduce the flow.
In most places a low water pressure is more likely the problem. But those small taps can be purchased for less than a dollar and really make it easy to fix leaks. For example, I don't like that particular brand of bum gun in this video and will never buy one again. Even after tightening with locking grip pliers, the face can become loose and leak.
Wow, Martin, you are a bum gun aficionado! Impressive knowledge right there! I'm going to copy this info so that I can refer to it if/when we move to a different place. Thanks so much for your comment! :)
@@ForRiel Oh, I forgot... don't forget to buy a roll of thread tape at the same store. You need to wrap it in the direction of the thread, or the new tap will leak.
Or, your average Khmer handy man will fit it for a couple of dollars.
Very nice and compact apartment!!
We love the small size, and it's good for the air conditioning bill too 😁❄❄❄
Hi. It looks like a very good place to stay long time. I be happy to live there. A nice pool, and as you said, you can see what happens outside. The loft gives you a feeling of open space, very nice. But one thing worries me a lot; you have no beer!!! :) Take care and thanks for the video. Cheers from Sweden.
Jeremy has fixed the beer problem so no need to worry anymore! I think we are going to have another curfew and alcohol sales ban soon because the number of covid cases here is going up again. We love living here - nice place, great location, pool to cool down in, and fantastic price :)
Excellent apt!👌😁
Thanks so much Edward! We really like it here 🤗
love your voice....simples
You're too kind!
Nice place for a good price !
Yes it was! It has changed hands so we are unsure what it is like now.
Good tour hi form Belgium
Thanks so much! I hope things are going ok over there - we don't hear much news from your part of the world here in Cambodia.
I'm blaming you that I am hooked on the OAT 25 cookies, very nice 😋😋
Oh my goodness have you had the chocolate version? 😍😍😍😍🍪🍪🍪
That’s not bad for $ 200 /M
Yes we are really pleased and think it is great value :)
Pool and AC fòr $200 is a good deal. But I prefer the lush fruit garden with separate houses where I rent. Prices from $50 , for student accommodation , to $500 for a 2 story house, per month. My place is a 2 bedroom both with AC, 2 bathroom , kitchen, lounge, and porch, for $350 per month. Power costs about $130 per month.
Hi Graham, your place sounds like a fantastic deal! I like gardens and lots of green around as well, but we didn't want the responsibility of a house right now. There are some very cute little houses going for $200-$300 around here but it's more space than we need and I guess we chose the pool instead :) Thanks so much for watching!
Hi Graham, may I ask are typical student accommodations $50?
@@TaoDeChing-ls5gz probably a bit more in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap
Great channel i have enyjoyed the content. I will be heading to Kampot soon and looking for a rental. How can i find this one? Thanks!
Thanks so much! It's behind Two Moons Resort. This is the location: 10.59940489502965, 104.18802212491255. I think there is a sign on the fence with the landlord's phone number.
A good price with a pool but I didn’t need too know your bum gun pressure 🤣😂
Haha of course you did! Low gun pressure is a deal-breaker in Cambodian apartments 🤣🤣🤣
Booze supplies looking a bit low ;)
Jeremy's letting the team down on that front :)
For $200 you should yet a stove and big gas tank
It was fine for us as we didn't cook much at all when we were there. 🙂🎉🙂🎉🙂
Look nice stay at kampot
Kampot is so lovely! Thank you so much for watching 🙏🙏🙏
Looks great. Are you often able to get the swimming pool to yourself?
Yes, we use it more than anyone else and there is very rarely other people in it. It's like a private pool :)
My freinds used to live there its perfect for a couple also karma traders private guest house and is good
It's a great place to live. I really like Karma Tranders too. Lovely view up top!
What a beautiful place! How did you find it? Also can you do a cost of living video for Kampot?
Thanks so much! We joined some Kampot Facebook groups and when this one came up, we put a holding deposit on it straight away. We've noticed that as soon as one of these apartments is empty it is leased very quickly. We definitely can do a cost of living video for Kampot - it's on our list! Thanks again for watching.
Nice place I don't recognise what part a kampot. Better than my place. The problem for me/misses she won't leave the motor bikes outside.
Thanks so much! Yeah, I understand why people what to bring their motos in. Nobody shuts the big gate at our place because it's really heavy and hard to close. We don't worry too much, though.
I don't worry sokheng does kampot is as safe as wales. Did you check out the live bands in the monkey republic
Many different pencil color gdmrning
Yes, I like to have them there in case I want to draw, and they look pretty too :)
Why don't you park your motorbike inside your living room? All my friends in the Philippines park their motorbike in their house at night. Even up here in North Dakota us single guys would park our motorcycles in our living room during the winter, so they were not stolen. Just make sure you turn off the gas petcock on the gas tank.
If we were going away for a weekend or something, we definitely would have, but didn't bother overnight. The gate to the complex was always shut and it wasn't a problem.
What kind of content do you get on the tv? Nice closing cat!
We never watch TV here, just CZcams. I'm not sure if there are any English language channels in Cambodia. Thank you so much for watching 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for sharing your tour with me. Is it easy to get Amazon delivered in Cambodia?
Thank you for watching. I've never used Amazon so am not sure. A lot of people use eBay and select sellers that will ship to Cambodia.
Nice apartment tour with a great price. How is the tourist visa working during this pandemic? I heard in Vietnam, they are not renewing tourist visa unless you have a business visa. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much! Cambodia stopped issuing tourist visas way back in March 2020. The only way in for non-Khmer is with a pre-arranged visa at an embassy in the home country. I have read that some of the embassies are very reluctant to issue them and others are more willing to assist. Thank you for watching 🤗
@@ForRiel Hopefully, we are able to visit Cambodia this fall. We are fully vaccinated. Cheers!
@@KhmerMinnesnowta That's wonderful! I really hope so :)
Great video, thank you. Does the food, wine, cans, etc., cost more there, or cheap also?
Food is a little dearer than Siem Reap depending on where you go, but there are MANY 50cent beer joints in Kampot and drinks at the supermarket are as cheap as they are in SR and PP. Kampot is good.
Do you basically live in the bedroom for the ac? Very good value. Love the kitty at the end. I take care of 3 ferals.
Nah, we leave the aircon on and the cooler air comes down into the lounge area. Wonderful work looking after the kitties! They'll be fully domesticated in no time 🤗
@@ForRiel oh, they love me but are afraid of others.
You forget to mention the soap. What color does it have, and how many spoons and ballpens
Oh no! So sorry, I'd better do it again. Soap is orange, by the way 😁
Keep getting told that Kampot is a better choice than Siem Reap.
What’s your view on that
They are very different and it depends what you are looking for. We enjoyed our time in Kampot but were happy to move on after 6 months.
Looks very cozy. Sorry if I missed it in the video, but How much do u pay for utilities?
Hi JQ! We just paid this month's expenses. Rent was $200, electricity was $97.75, and water was $2. Total of $299.75. Wifi is free. Thanks so much for watching :)
Does that A/C unit keep the bedroom cool enough at night?
Yes it was fine. Once we pull the curtain across, the cool air becomes trapped up there. Having said that, it was quite a hot apartment.
What are other monthly expenses associated with the house? Water, internet, utility, etc.
We're going to make a video about this soon. Thanks for watching :)
@@ForRiel did you make that video?... I'm not sure if you did which one it is.
Good deal! How far to the water? Electric?
Maybe 5 minutes to walk to the riverside then another 10 to the town centre. Electricity 1,000 Riel / kwh, or about 25 cents.
@@ForRiel 👍🇰🇭🏝️ Thanks!
l'm interested
It's a decent place, by Kampot standards. Not sure what she is charging these days.
How do you find an apartment or house for rent in Kampot? Real estate agency, Airbnb?
Facebook is the best way. We joined some groups and that's where the owners advertise. It's normal to connect directly with the owner here. Thanks for watching! 🍍🥥🥭😊
Great. What is the name of the place ?
Hi Eric, I don't think this place actually has a name. It's in Sovan Sakor if that helps.
👍🏽😀
The best apartment! 😀😀😀
Do you have to have a Cambodian Motorcycle licence to drive your scooter? I'm assuming yours is under 125 cc. How much are you paying rent on that motorbike? Where are you getting liability insurance for the motorbike and how much is that? Hiring a tuk tuk to take me to and from school everyday sounds like it is going to get expensive.
You can ride up to 125cc without a Cambodian licence. We owned the bikes we had in Kampot - sold them when we returned to Australia. We're currently renting a 125cc Honda PCX for $70 a month. We'll buy our own bikes again soon, but needed something to get started with.
Any AC in this place?
10:11
$200/mo is AUD? NZD? USD? Or ???
Good point! I should have said USD. All rental prices are given in USD here.
Tip: theres no such thing as a leak-proof alcohol ban in Cambodia.😉 Ask around.
Yeah, totally! Best to be independent if you can, though ;)
The bedroom looks ok. But the rest looks way too small. What about motorcycle noise just outside your front door?
To me, why not spend $100 more, and have a MUCH more comfortable apartment?😀
Thanks so much for watching! We actually prefer smaller spaces and find this one to be perfect. When we were looking, we didn't find anything else that we liked in terms of 'better' apartments. The only options seemed to be either smaller, local-style rooms, bungalows in places that are usually for tourists, or houses, and we're not interested in any of those. Each to their own, I guess! :)
Grae Ringley are you still living in Cambodia and how did you find your bit more expensive and bit more bigger apartment?
Hi are you still living there in summer 2023?
No, we live in Siem Reap now.
Ok great i love siem reap too i was wondering where is that appartement in kampot...is it nearby Bohemiaz resort ? Or other side of the bridge as if you go to kep?
It's in Sovann Sakor (that's the name of the Sangkat) about 100m from the riverside.
@@ForRiel Thank you but is it on the side of river which goes to Sihanoukville or other side of the bridge when arriving from phnom penh ?
maps.app.goo.gl/9LVpA5kqJKUfyJcj9
How much is the rental cost per month?
Of course we did! Maybe he didn't watch to the end where I talk about the price.
@@dancooper5741 12:20
Hi! Are there some more available units? I will look for rent something nice in Kampot next week...
😂😂Many apologies because my attention span 154 seconds. 🙏🙏
You are waffling too much
Feel free to move on. 🙂🚶♀️🙏🚶♂️🙏🙂
@@ForRiel that is exactly what I did.
as a foreigner from the US i want to visit Cambodia for a few months, can you recommend any trust worthy websites to find apartments such as the one featured, thanks in advance
It really depends where you want to live. Accommodation is hard to come by in Kampot - much easier in Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. Try IPS Cambodia - they are very professional.
