Odesza is so magical. I saw them in concert a few days ago and I was a MESS, literrally crying the whole time because their songs wake up in me so many genuine feelings that I can't describe. I mean how do they do it? When listening to their music the world doesn't exist anymore and I can just enjoy. On saturday night I could feel this thing deep in my guts transporting me to a state of pure joy. This song in particular always gives me goosebumps. Thank you, Odesza.

A quick message to those who love this song - if the vocals are a big part of why you like it so much, you should check out the band Made in Heights. They sadly disbanded in 2015 but it's some good stuff and Kelsey Bulkin was the vocalist. It's electronic music as well.

They never made an official post about it but she did an interview when releasing her first single from her upcoming solo effort where she talks a little bit about dealing with the fallout from their split, so I'd say yes it's pretty official. no problem. :] uh, from what i got, in the book, referring to the bible here, she says that the words that describes him is not apart from her, but with her. By believing and truly conceiving the word, she can feel his tremendous love from him. So his truth is not constricted only to the pages she reads, but becomes flesh and alive. Because we are all brought here to achieve our potential: dreams, better the world, find love amongst others, and to love others, she asks for guidance in where to go. And because this life is a race of time, the finite amount of heartbeats from birth to death...the desperation to truly achieve the love we are supposed to find in the world and in ourselves...makes her worry in how she is progressing when she repeats, are we moving to fast? too slow? though thinking about it further, most of the knowledge we have left from history has been preserved from the written texts of many gods that were worshipped over time, so the book can proclaim the love of any god. though i think, the god that loves you and supports you, the god you believe in, for anything a person believes in becomes real, that is the one who will be with you.

Like, the other person doesn’t shower you with material belongings and they aren’t easy to read, but you know they love you. “You’re not a book that I read, but I know how you love me.” Although, I could see how that line could also mean God in the sense that His love isn’t supposed to be easy to feel or see. It’s supposed to be part of you, and you need to just have faith in Him.
It’s that make it or break it point in a relationship, where you decide if it’s worth going in for the long haul. “Are we moving too or are we moving too slow?”
I don’t know. I don’t really believe in God personally, so I guess that meaning just doesn’t resonate me with me like it would for other people.

A few weeks ago my friend, 17, lost his battle to cancer. This song reminds me of him. Both him and the song remind me to not get caught up in the speed of life, and appreciate in the natural beauty around us. I have many memories with him but one day stands out, it was a day filled to the brim with fun times, most with him, and I listened to this song a lot that day-and discovered this song a few days before. This song has some kind of nostalgic, beautiful ring to it that makes me save this song for those special days. It makes me want to stop what I’m doing and just focus on how the music makes you feel.
