Bill Seacaster is portrayed by Brennan Lee Mulligan on Dimension 20 and I love him.

"Bill Seacaster has not allowed you to go to sleep" has an eldritch energy to it that I wasn't prepared for
What if you: Were severely injured and wanted to go to bed
But, Bill Seacaster said:

“Bill Seacaster has not allowed you to go to sleep” just makes me think of “you cannot fast travel when enemies are nearby”

Bill "surprisingly inclusive" Seacaster
"You know that's one me, I'm an old dog but I can learn some new tricks."
"Though it occurs to me we had a golem on my ship, that would be excluded from men and women."
That awkward moment when a literal pirate is more inclusive than a modern British author...
Most pirates we're pretty accepting unless you were a woman unless they were such badasses then they were kinda accepted but gay people totally ok. They could actually only get married at sea.
@@unrealcreature there were lesbian pirates! I don't remember many details but I know they existed and were BADASS
@@handfulmousefly isn't that INCREDIBLE
my favorite thing is Fabian being so embarrassed by his coked out pirate dad giving his friends unhinged life lessons
It’s just snuff powder. Which is essentially sniffing tobacco.
Snuff isn't coke, just crushed tobacco...not your fault, they seem a bit confused at Dimension 20 as well in the context they use it.
@@williamblackfyre4866 I was also confused by how opposed Fabian was to the snuff but I assumed after awhile they assumed that it wasn’t tobacco
@@williamblackfyre4866 it was initially supposed to be morally ambiguous. In pirates of leviathan, garthy remarks on our heroes illegally doing snuff powder in the hotel.
@@31323452 I'm not sure what you're trying to say here but it seems like you are confusing morality with legality. There is nothing morally ambiguous about drugs in general, addiction is a healthcare issue, not a moral one. What one a person does to their body is their own business and as long as that person is old enough to make their own choices, morality doesn't even come into question.
This would also bring into question whether tobacco was illegal as well as alcohol or if there is an age of usage in Solace, because their certainly wouldn't be one on Leviathan given that piracy in and of itself would be illegal (and immoral for that matter). Again, not exactly sure what you're trying to say but there are so many things wrong with your statement, I'm not exactly sure where to begin and/or end so I will just end it here.
Bill Seacaster is the perfect embodiment of a chaotic evil PC reaching level 20 and retiring.
My head cannon is that a lot of these DMPCs are just past PC's that he played growing up living their best life's.
I don't know, Bill has a strange respect for certain aspects of order. Certainly not any law or government, but the man respects a code
Couldn't you argue that he's indeed lawful evil?
@@darkartsdabbler2407 It was an off-hand comment, but Brennan said he was CE in one of the after-shows. Discussing his relationship with Fabien, it was something like "A chaotic evil pirate can still truly love someone," or something like that.

i had a visceral reaction to him shouting an ACTUAL SHANTY THAT WASNT DRUNKEN SAILOR.... KING
I mean, he mentioned before in the Lie Detector episode of GameChanger that two of his nicknames on set were “Shanty” and “SIPpy”, which stood for “Shanty Irish Prick”...
@@hotscottrulzI’m late, but he mentioned on a 99 questions podcast (iirc) that another nickname was the “blue handlebar bandito” because he got laid at a party after someone drew a blue handlebar mustache on his face
"AND IF YE SPEAK OUT OF TURN AGAIN I'LL SLIT YA LIKE A FISH!"
"papa!"
gets me every time
Bill Seacaster is my favourite NPC, if only because he feels genuinely like the character Brennan wants to play the most...
Brennan talked on some show or another about an evil pc he once played who was a pirate and I'm convinced it was the inspiration for Captain Seacaster
Coughsgilearcoughs
@@jadeyu7197 he has stated many times his desire to deadify the elf
@@ereynolds72 I like to think it as "This poor man is being dragged around by a bunch of 16 or so year olds teens, constantly, perhaps unintentionally, embarrassed by them, barely escaping a near-death experience after having a full death experiment. I may as well end his miserable life and let him rest peacefully on corn heaven."
It's not the character Brennan wants to play the most, it's just Brennan revealing his true form.
Bill Seacaster and Gilear are polar opposites, and yet they are beloved for nearly identical reasons: that being that they are so far off the rails (albeit in opposite directions) that they stand out from the other NPCs, and they are dedicated to their children to the most insane degree
I bet Fabian’s mother also loved them both for nearly identical reasons
They both went perpendicular to the rails, but also to each other. A beautiful display of non-euclidian character roles
Someone needs to make a compilations for Brennan's characters saying that the law is systemically bad but each one comes from a different philosophical theory . Fun fact about brennan he has a philosophy degree and is not afraid to use it
That explains a lot especially about the finale
That makes so much sense.
Of course he does...
How many times has it come up? I only remember Bill and the halflings saying it. Apparently Goldenhoard is a libertarian, but I don't remember if he spoke about the nature of law.
@@8Rincewind I swear it was mentioned again in the Unsleeping city campaign but I don't remember specifically. I binged Dimension 20 and now it's all a mess in my head that's why I said SOMEONE needs to do it. Not me😂
Fig's "And women." Was the bravest moment in the whole series, bar none. Man says he'll kill the devil w/ a straight face and she had the balls to straight up check him on his grammar. Power move.

Spoilers for thoes who have not seen season 2!!!
Bills health is 200+ and almost all of his stats are above or at 20. Brennan created the most coaked out, feral, amalgamation for the ONE battle episode. AND he had legendary actions that he used to cheer on Fabain and shoot the deck of the GoldenRod. Like, the hell.

So like I understand that Bill Seacaster is human, but I can't not imagine that he's a dwarf. Especially when he goes on the joyride with Fabian.
I love it though, it’s like fuck fantasy stereotypes.
Maybe he has some Stone’s blood in him
Tbf who hasn’t become more feral throughout fantasy high, I can’t think of one example.
I haven't seen Season 2, but I think it's fair to say Riz has maintained a pretty steady level of feral-ness
John Thomason idk he’s gone from “here’s my business card” to (spoiler) eating goldenhoard in his entirety
I really want to argue this, but i can't. Gilear I guess? He gets more...pathetic?
Spoiler for FHSY: but then there's that whole suit of armor thing so like... wow they really are feral by the end
Jawbone gets significantly less feral throughout the series
Gilear.
His ferality diminishes each day. Remember when he tricked Fig into going to school, then basically kicked her out of the car? Ha. It was all downhill from there. 😆

I don't know why, but Bill just saying "Who, would like an omelet!" is genuinely hilarious
2:30 It's funny, because it is the exact opposite of what the anarchist halflings said - that laws are made by the strong to oppress the weak.
3:40 Fighters.
the halflings meant in terms of strong as in economically and socially, bill meant in terms of strong as real strength of will and power
