Hi friends, and happy Easter 🐣 Here is a short video demonstrating how you can straighten your edges with this easy little tweak that replaces your turning chain in rounds and rows. xx
Thank you and Happy Easter
@@terip8785 you too ! 🐇🐣💕
Happy Easter to you, Roz. Thanks for the new technique. I am sure it will come in handy. Hello, Biscuit. ❤
Thank you for this
@@michellewasson277 sorry I missed this, Michelle ! Hope you had a lovely Easter 💕
My goodness, using a stacked stitch in the round is going to be a game changer! Never even gave that a thought. Thanks so much for sharing!
Glad it was helpful! 👏🏻💕
Yes, please do a video on the hexagon...we all appreciate you sharing these new techniques... Thank you so very much... Have a blessed Easter Sunday!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Terry, I hope you have a lovely one too 🐰❤️😀
I am a relatively new crocheter, and you have just blown my mind! I can’t wait to use this technique. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Hexagon pattern…yes pleasae!
Wonderful! 😀👏🏻💕
I really like the look of this technique. What a game changer!!! A hexagon would be great, Roz. Something a little different is always fun to work on. Thank you for your videos. I look forward to them every week. ~Joan~💖
Thanks so much , Joan , and I hope you have a wonderful Easter 🐣💕🧶
At last! Someone who holds the yarn and fabric in the left hand, not the yarn high up over the forefinger!!! I've always done that, because trying to hold the yarn up with my forefinger, and the worked fabric with my other fingers always felt so awkward and less controlled. I think the way you hold your yarn makes for a neater finish. Also, the tip for replacing the turning chain is really useful, and it certainly does look nicer. Many thanks to you..... I've subscribed and am looking forward to more great videos. 😊😊❤❤
Thank you so much! Appreciate you subbing. We are a rare breed with the way we hold our hook and yarn. Not sure why , because I feel the same as you do with the comfort and ease of it 😀😆❤️
The stitch marker is vital for ease and peace of mind, not to mention accuracy on the next row first stitch. Thank you for clear instructions
🙌🏻💕
Thank you for sharing...yes...a video would be great...I love your Sunday videos❤️ Have a beautiful Sunday😊
Thank you! You too! ❤️👏🏻❤️
Looking forward to seeing the tutorial for the modern granny hexagon!
Awesome, Dan, thank you ! 🧶
When I was first learning to crochet, I remember wondering why turning chains were used when something like this could be done instead! But everyone insisted turning chains were "the way" 😂 love how much neater this looks and will be using it from now on!!
It just goes to show you, right? 😁
And guess what else? Someone commented that this was how it was taught in a book when she was a child. So, yes, this seems to be the original way maybe? It’s interesting, regardless!
Love how you demonstrate this. It makes it so easy to see the details to ensure accuracy.
I’m glad it was clear, thank you 💕
Thanks for making this video. I have been crocheting afghans for many years and this stacking stitch is new to me and will be a a game changer.
So glad you found it useful 😀💕
Yes! I found the stacking single crochet method to be a game-changer, too. Now it’s my default. Much neater sides. Love it. Your video is a great demonstration for single half double double, and treble crochet. Your instructions are always so clear and easy to follow.
Thank you so much, Patrice ! 👏🏻💕
You are easily my new favorite crocheter on CZcams! I absolutely love how you explain everything so clearly and simply. Thank you for all of the work that you do! A hexagon tutorial would be so amazing if it’s not too much trouble! You have already taught me so much. I’ve been crocheting for nearly 30 years and yet I find myself constantly learning new things from you. I sincerely appreciate you so much! ❤
That means so much to me, Megan, thank you ! 🧶💕😀
Fabulous tip! This eliminates the possibility of using the turning chain as a stitch and messing up your stitch count. Not that I'VE EVER DONE THAT!🤪🙄❤
Yeahhhh, pfft , none of us have everrr done that !! 😉😆💕
I totally understand now, how to do stacking chains. Your video is excellent and very precise on how to accomplish this technique.❤
Thank you so much 💕
Omg!!! Doing hexagons for a blanket.... And this is brilliant!!! Thank you thank you.
Wonderful ! 👏🏻❤️
I love this, can't wait to try it! I also love the kitty talking to you and making an appearance. 😺 I would like to see a tutorial on the hexagon, please. Take care and thank you for sharing this great change!
Thank you , Cheryl! They are my best critics 😆😻💕
I'd love to see a tutorial on the hexagon granny. I love your videos. Always useful and just the right pacing for me.
Awesome, so glad 👏🏻💕
Thank you for sharing. This was a GREAT tip. I will be using it from now on.
Any new tip will be appreciated for sure ! You have a wonderful way of instructing!
So kind, Ginny, thank you 🧶💕

Wow! What a great tip! And yes, I’d love to see a hexi made in the modern granny way! Thank you!!
Great! 😀👏🏻💕
Thank you excellent tips. How nice it would of been if I saw these tips when I first began crocheting. Retrain the brain.
Thank you so much 😀💕
Yes please! I’ve been loving the modern granny. Stacked singles have been my go to.
So glad to know that you use it and love it. It impressed me on how much straighter it made the sides! I’m definitely using it more and more now 👏🏻💕
Yes please on the hexagon pattern. I’ve been using this technique and really like it; but I’m glad you did this video, as I occasionally get my wires crossed with my stitches so it will be helpful to have this to refer to. Thanks as always.
Wonderful, thank you ! I’ll
Look forward to working on the hexagon too 👏🏻💕
I have never seen that Stitch done like that before it's wonderful I can't wait to try it on what I'm working on right now just happened to catch you when I was going through looking for new Stitches thank you so much
I think you’re really going to like 💕
I'm really impressed with that too. That looks so much better.
👏🏻🙌🏻💕
Yes please. Hexagon granny. Would love to see that.
Great ! I’ll be sharing in the next video 👏🏻💕
Awesome! I saw a few people use this technique but I wasn't sure how to do it properly lol... they did it so fast. Thanks for explaining this stitch so clearly!
So glad! 😀👏🏻💕
I've been doing all these for a few weeks now and it's the best!
These little tips and tricks are amazing, it makes crocheting more fun when you can customize little technical details to suit you
Awesome! I agree, it keeps it interesting and also helps to develop one’s own style, right? Win, win . Thanks for sharing 👏🏻💕
Love the kitty, the way it just decided to plop down on the work. I had 5 cats and miss them all, even though they were little devils.
I try to record during their nap time but don’t always manage it ! You’re right, they can be little devils but in a good way 😻😈💕
I love this idea!!! I won’t let myself start a new project until I finish the one I’m doing-I’ve had serious WIPitis in the past. However, I already have the yarn to do a simple 6piece washcloths & towels set for my son the minute I’ve finished the blanket I’m currently working on, just so I get lots of practice doing the edges this way. Thank you for sharing this video. 💜🫂💜
I definitely would like to learn how to make a hexagon granny square!
Ok, great! Thanks for letting me know! 👏🏻❤️
I love this stacked stitch. It’s so much neater looking. Yes I am definitely interested in the hexagon. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Just posted the hexagon video ! 💕
I love the straight edges and the relative simplicity of the stacking. I will be using this technique. Thank you!
Wonderful 😀👏🏻💕
I started using this method and it’s a game changer.
Oh, good! I was hoping those that use it would chime in 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Hi Roz - thanks so much! This is great, and I will be trying it soon! Happy Resurrection Sunday!
❤️💐❤️
Wonderful! Enjoy a beautiful day as well, thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️
That is brilliant!! I love this since I have a hard time keeping track of stitches and where a row starts even with markers. Thank you! 👏👏👏💕💕💕 Yes, a hexagon granny video would be wonderful! 👌👍
Awesome! I’m glad you found it useful 😀👏🏻💕
I really don’t love the bumps at the ends of my rows so I cannot wait to implement this!!!!!!
👏🏻💕
Bye bye bumpy edges! Thanks formthis wonderful tip!
Yes, I'd love to please see the hexagon granny Square! Cheers! ☺️
Great, thank you ! I look forward to showing you , I’m excited about it 🧶💕
TY for the video!
I stumble upon this method some time ago on another channel and it's a real game changer, never gone back to chaining 😊
Great to know , thank you ! 😀👏🏻💕
I appreciate how you share your tips and tricks.
Thank you , Beverly ❤️
Love the sc-stack! I've been using it when making blankets & similar items, but I never thought that it could be adapted for starting items in the round. A game-changer for sure! Thanks so much for this tutorial. ❤
Yeah 🙌🏻😀💕
Excellent tips. Thank you so much for sharing this. ✌🏻😻🧶
Love your user name 😆😻💕
Thank you ! 🙌🏻
@@PlayHookywithMethank you! 😻✌🏻🧶
YES on the hexi tutorial. thank you in advance !
Please make a video of your Granny hexagon! I just subscribed, thank you. Absolutely love your stacked stitches😊
Love your modern Granny too, just started a baby blanket using your instructions.
Thanks for subbing! ❤️The hexagon video is on the way! Please check back tomorrow (Sunday the 7th)
brilliant - the straight edges on a blanket have always bothered me, this will be awesome to use next time - no more feeling like I "have" to put a border all the way around, just to cover up the edges! And I too, would love to see the hexagon tutorial. Thank you for so many helpful videos.
That’s a great point on the edges - this really cleans them up to the point that a border isn’t as necessary 👍🏻💕
Hi Roz
I hope you and your family had a Blessed Easter. 😊 Love this technique. I have not hea4d of it before. I live under a rock. 😅
Would love to see your tutorial on the granny hexagon. Yes yes, yes please!!! 🥰
Love the kitten. 😊
I love all animals.
Have a blessed day Roz. 😊❤
Thank you , Linda, it was a lovely day spent with family . It’s super cool, right? I made a video about this a couple of years ago when I first discovered it (the stack hack 😆) and then completely forgot to use it! 🙄
💕
Any and all tips and tricks shared are very appreciated..thanks for your time and effort.
Thank you so much, Rhonda 💕
What a great idea on turning work. looks awesome Roz! (now why didn't I think of it? lol). I hope you had a blessed Easter. ❤🦋
Thank you , Karen , it was a lovely one 🐣💕🧶
Thank you, I was wondering how to improve my start of a row. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks for going over these techniques in detail! I've been seeing this slot lately and k really like the looks of the edges when they're straight (or close!!)
Yes! Makes such a difference- it surprised me, really 👏🏻💕
You did it again, Roz. Great tips thank you!❤
So glad, Donna, thank you 🧶👏🏻💕
I discovered how to do a stacked single crochet (stsc) and it is a game changer! I wanted to make granny squares, but I didn't like the slip stitching to get to the next round, and I didn't like the obvious line the chain 3 gave throughout the squares. Enter stsc and the hdc in the last corner to solve the problems. Perfectly seamless granny squares!
Beautiful!🤩 👏🏻👏🏻
I love these tips. I'm doin a project where the creator 😊 suggested and showed how to do the double. I love using it. It makes a pretty big difference I think. I've never liked the turning chain lol. I hope you and your family had a great Easter😊. Tyfs God bless you
Fantastic 😀👏🏻💕
This technique looks really good. ☮️🌍🌲🐇
Thanks , Jennie! I am finding I’m using it more and more when working in a row 👏🏻💕 🐣💕
I can tell. You work it very well. That means lots of practice. I was going to ask about blocking. I have trouble with it. Could you tell us your blocking techniques? 🌷🐇🌈
@@jennierollins8789 oh sure, where are you having issues with it, Jennie?
Whenever I use pins it always seems to damage my project. Even when they are supposed to be rust proof. When doing blankets it's hard to find enough room for them to dry. Really just don't block anymore.
@@jennierollins8789 that’s a bummer on the pins that are still rusting on you . I’ve seen where people use peg boards with 1/4” inch dowels that they get from craft/ hardware stores . That could eliminate the rusting on small squares at least.
For blankets I use rubber mats that I got in the kids aisle (has the alphabet on it 😆)- much cheaper than the ones intended for blocking.
I don’t do it often, either , Jennie . Only if it’s really needed to get the shaping right.
Acrylic is a bear to block so I usually use steam instead of “wet blocking” .
Actually I use steaming with almost all of it lately . Or just spritz it will
A little water.
💕
Glad I stayed to the end for that adorable cameo!
😆😻❤️
I’m going to try this! Thank you!
Yes I would love to learn how to make a crocheted hexagon please. Thank you. I’ve been crocheting since I was a wee girl but since I found you I’ve learned so much more and how to refine my work. Thank you very much. 💝😜🤗
That’s wonderful, thank you 😀💕
This is how I have always done it. :)
Great to know! It confirms how good it is. Thanks for sharing ! 👏🏻💕
Very good, thank you for sharing xx
This is great. Thank you !
The stacking makes a more substantial edge, probably easier for any joining or edging you might do. Yes, please show the hexagon.
You’re absolutely right on that. Makes a difference with the edging 👍🏻💕
Nicely done! Thanks!
Thanks for the technique
Awesome!
I Like it alot- thank you so much for sharing!❤
I love this technique.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
I have to try these techniques love it thank you ❤

work on it then 😀👏🏻💕
Thanks for sharing 😍😍😍
Wow. Thank you for these tips!!
👏🏻💕
Thank you for sharing, love any new tips you have.
Appreciate it, Beverly 😀💕
Very interesting technique. It def looks better than chains but not better than standing/starting stitches imo. I will prob use this for singles & half doubles though since standing/starting stitches for those are pretty fiddly. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Happy Easter 🐣. Thanks for this great information.
Thank you so much and happy Easter! 💕🧶 🐰
That is great thanks
