  • What happens when you get Electric Callboy mixed with Baby Metal. You get one hell of a metal fusion sandwich, with such a fun filling. Here' is my reaction to their new song Ratatata.

I wasn't sure at the beginning about the Song to be honest. But it grew quite quickly on me and I enjoy the new reactions from both fandoms coming up discovering each other :-D

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 🤣. The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. On this 50:50 collaboration basis, that was great, too. The interchangeability between the two versatile bands is good. EC boys can join BM concerts and BM girls can show up in EC's worldwide 😍
Is it just a coincidence that the two bands are to perform on the same days in the same places in several European festivals in June ?

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🔥
Some reactors and fans couldn't wait for the official MV release, but you did a great job 🦊🤘🐭lol
Most likely they will be playing this together at FOX_FEST Festival next weekend May 25 and 26 in Japan along with many more artists and bands such Polyphia so can't wait for the live version.
The "hips don't lie" is definitely a Shakira reference.
The "Fu Fu" (or more like "wu-uh wu-uh") part sounds like Backstreet Boys - Everybody female backing chorus and also I think I heard in a K-pop song, not sure which one.
Btw I thought the second "Are you ready?" chorus was MomoMetal doing the backing growling but they didn't show that, we'll see in the live version.
Love the euro trance elements mixed with metal, they also did it with Time Wave, one of my favorite BM song from latest album The Other One.
There's probably more references but I'm so far away from pop culture that i probably missing a lot more.
Next suggestion to keep enjoying more BM songs released recently:
    - METALI!! feat. Tom Morello official MV or official live is even better.
    See you next time.🦊🤘🔥

      [Lyrics]
Every night when the sky turns red up above
I feel the beat in my veins and I'm searching for love
You know that hips don't lie, I leave you hypnotized
Just give me one more try to make you feel that vibe
      And it goes

      Now gimme some more
I will push it to the limit
And everybody's feeling the sound of the night
      I don't wanna stop
We push it to the limit
Together we will crash the morning light
      Bu・Chi・A・Ga・Re!

Nice shirt😎great reaction.🤘Getting BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together was only ever going to result in a fun song.😁
Yes BABYMETAL have worked hard to improve their English over the years ... they recorded a song entirely in English for their second album because they were so touched by the fans around the world learning Japanese to sing along with them, they felt they wanted to show their appreciation and to reciprocate they challenged themselves to learn a song entirely in English as a mark of their respect and love for the fans ... that song was 'The One' (also their name for the fans).
The Japanese edition of the album had it in half and half English and Japanese, the international edition had the full English version.
There is (and always was) so much more to BABYMETAL than 'Gimme Chocolate' - that was just a fun song that went viral, so it was the song most people heard first. Many loved it, too many really didn't and never gave them another shot ... which is such a shame, those people have missed out.
They have about 70 songs now, each one different to the last - you will never be able to predict what the next song you hear from them will sound like, they refuse to be pigeonholed or restricted to just one genre.
BABYMETAL are first and foremost a live performance act - the albums and studio recordings are good, but you will see and most importantly hear them at their best in live performances.
I don't see the usual lists of links and suggestions in the comments yet so I'll suggest a couple of songs you might try:
'Divine Attack' live at PIA Arena in Yokohama and as a contrast to that 'Monochrome' also live at PIA Arena.
For a couple of songs that predate 'Gimme Chocolate' by about 18 months and 2 years:
'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 (their concert in Dec 2013 celebrating lead singer Su-metal's 16th birthday) and one from their very first time in the UK 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014.

BabyMetal is fearless. They believe, to their core, that absolutely anything can be BabyMetal-ified and, with the exception of the collab with Lil Uzi Vert (for me personally), they haven't been wrong. They've done Egyptian-metal, Indian-metal, Prog-metal, Rap-metal... I'm still waiting for them to do country or bluegrass.

      Technically they *_are_* prog-metal.
      Prog-metal is literally progressive metal.
Innovation, breaking the norm, to create something new.
Considering they created their own genre and remain the only band in it, almost 15 years later, and are mixing every style known to man...
      Thats thats pretty fakking Prog.
      Literally by definition.

If youre unfamiliar with Babymetal, then this absolutely sounds like an EC track.
If you know Babymetal, this is absolutely a 50/50 EC/BM song.
Or a 100/100 is maybe more accurate.

You lose youre accent when singing it uses the other side of the brain.
Speaking is the right hemosphere, singing uses the left, or if its the other way around, I dont remember.
Singing is more a mimicing ability than a speaking ability.
This is why you can learn a song a language you dont even understand, remember every word and pronpunce it perfectly but if you try to speak the lyrics without singing them, you *_will_* mess it up.
That said, Su has worked *_very_* hard on improving her english, it *_is_* really good at this point.

Well it is mainly Band one stumbles from room to room whily Band Two remembered that they learned this years ago. And their size differences made every shot to a forced perspective shot.
