My little headcanon is that Daniel's spectrometer can only be correct if Daniel warns people about what it reads, and because Daniel is just a good-natured person (to some degree), he causes a panic by warning everyone, thus making the disasters real. Poor Daniel got sacrificed! Too bad it only made mother nature engulf the world to avenge him.

I live near La Push in WA, amazing surfing and it's also the beach from Twilight, and the local Government is helping rebuild the reservation up on the hill from where it currently is because "we're way overdue for a massive earthquake/tsunami" that would wipe out the town. I really like the little rivalry between Daniel and the Vice Governor acting as the cliche doubtful, ignorant politician you see in disaster movies. His design even reminds me of Walter Peck from the first Ghostbusters movie. Loved how Davey roasted him about his marriage rhat was SAVAGE 😂
