Her studio didn't wanna produce this song. She did it all herself because her fans really wanted her to release it. She wrote it, arranged it, made the melodies, mixed them, layered them, produced it, and released it. It hit so big with her fans it actually ended up an official songs from how big it hit with fans.
And the drums she used is an arabic instrument called darbuka or "taarija" in morroco

Taarija is something else , it exists just in Morocco , and a one similar to it in Iraq , but these beats was with the Arabic darbuka that is popular in the middle East and North Africa , and with a touch of her Moroccan lalas

DJ.... I lovvvvve when you react to Faouzia! Love everything you had to say here.. except that I didn't find the drum beat distracting. I found it added to the exotic Moroccan vibes she loved to sew into her instrumentals and vocals!!!! I am a very proud Canadian.. and I love our girl.. and I love how she keeps her heritage prominent in her music. Even though I have no middle eastern background myself... I find Faouzia and her music is just truly so unique, captivating and beautiful. You are right.. she is beyond such an incredible role model for young women.. other artists.. male or female.. young or older. She's truly a class act!!!
Perhaps distracting is an incorrect term.
I feel as though the mixing level of the drums is what was distracting to me. I get that way often.... it’s made it difficult to appreciate some of the more classic recordings.

I love the percussion, and wish the guitar weren't so prominent. I'd love to know what that drum is called. I read the name somewhere on a CZcams comment to another video, looked it up, and the sound of the drum matched perfectly with this song.
