The Book Swap, on a certain level, reminds me of The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams. In The Reading List, a character finds a list of recommendations in a book, and it ties all of the characters together beautifully. It was my 2022 Book of the Year.
I loved The Reading List so I'm hopeful for Book Swap too.
i didn’t know that Kate Quinn had a new book coming out, so I’m very excited about that! I also added several of these to my ‘to read sometime” list and put most of them on hold at my library!
Sweet! Glad so many stood out to you.
This list is amazing! I added it to my saved videos so I don’t lose it. Thank you so much for doing all the research for us, I really appreciate you! I’m most excited about the Anne Frank, but I want almost all of them!
I'm glad you liked this list.
Looking forward to adding to my RO series😊 The Mythmakers, And So I Roar….to answer your question about Salt Spring Island, its one of the Gulf Islands here on Vancouver Island, B.C. A ten minute drive for me to a small community called Crofton where you then take a short ferry ride across to ‘Saltspring’ as we call it. it’s a popular tourist attraction and we often plan a Saturday in the summer to enjoy its outdoor market, a picnic or indoor/outdoor restaurant. I’m curious then to read TLS for sure, being so local😊 Great video and I look forward to adding these to my tbr. 📚
Ok good to know about Salt Spring Island. I had never heard of it. Makes sense why now. I'm not familiar much at all with the West Coast. Sounds like a lovely place though!
These all sound great! Especially looking forward to The Briar Cluv and The Lost Story.
They sound so good, right?!
So many great sounding books! I added so many to my want to read list! Thank you for sharing!
I read 'The Last Bookstore in London' by Madeline Martin, it was excellent. I look forward to her new book. Thanks for the update.
Great list!! I put several on my TBR. Not Nothing was the standout to me.
Always glad to add to your list!
The new Kate Quinn sounds really good. I will be putting it on my Amazon Wish List.
I love her so I'm very hopeful for this new one.
So glad I saw your video, I love Orbiting Jupiter, can’t wait for the next one!
The Lost Story sounds like my kind of book! Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
You're welcome. Hope you love it!
I have one that came out this month (June 5) that I pre-ordered and started reading immediately when I received it. It is called "A Dog Named Mattis" by Mark Tappan. Mark is a K-9 officer in Georgia and Mattis was his partner (Mattis retired and still lives with Mark). Mattis was on America's Top Dog and is an awesome public face for all K-9's. So far I absolutely love the book and can't see that changing. I'll have to look into a few you recommended and see I want to pre-order or just wait until they come out. Thanks for all the fun book recommendations in today's video and in all of your videos as well.
Oh fun! I love when excitement for books is like that.
I had no idea John Hendrix was coming out with a new book, but I will absolutely be picking that one up as soon as I can!
One new release that has caught my attention recently is Beyond Ivy Walls by Rachel Fordham. I've never read anything by her, but this book sounds like it could be really good.
I have heard a lot of praise for Rachel Fordham. She's one I'd like to try someday.
Great list! A couple of these were already on my radar. I have now added five more to Goodreads.
Glad you heard a few that sound good to you.
Thanks. Just pre-ordered The Mythmakers. Looks like it will be good.
I preordered three of these (All This And More, The Lost Story, and The Book Swap) and am seriously considering a couple of others. This is a great list - thank you for putting it together.
Hope you enjoy them all!
Wow so many of these books sound amazing!! I added a bunch to my Goodreads! 🤩☺️
I just went to the Amazon Kindle store and had a good time. Good thing the cost will be spread out. I now have most of my books unpacked and have 5 empty shelves in my cases. Planning to get some baskets for other things and look for special to me books. Have a great day!!
Yay for empty shelf space. Have fun at thrift stores and goodwill and library sales to not break the bank!
Thanks for sharing about new releases! I have some more books added to my reading list.
Wonderful!
Very excited about the historical fiction books coming out. Your hair looks great in this video. Happy Reading 📚
Thanks Christine! ❤️
Oh!! I love any book about Anne Frank!! Can’t wait!
It sounds so good!
Definitely need to see about getting the new Meg Wurlitzer!
Nice. Hope you love it. I've never read anything by her.
Thanks for doing all the sleuthing to put this together! It's very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Krista
All of these books sounds good especially about Tolkien and CS Lewis. They too are my favorite Authors.
I hope that you will enjoy these books.
Take Care & Happy Reading
❤️🤗📖📚🔰❤️
Yes, Mythmakers sounds fabulous. Thanks, Linda.
Oh, the Alice Hoffman one sounds intriguing as Anne Frank's diary was my favorite book growing up
Nice. I hope it's a good one.
So many intriguing ones!
Yay!
Not noyjing and the book lovers library sound great!! I also didn’t know Kate Quinn had another book coming out!
Yay for now knowing! I love Kate Quinn.
i got a couple of these at ala, i am aexcited to read them soon!
Another group of great recommendations!
I'm glad you think so. Sometimes it's hard to narrow it down to my faves.
Oh I hope you read Briar Club soon and let us know what you think.
I did get it on Netgalley...now if I could just get better about reading them ahead of time!
Book Swap sounds good. Take care.. Enjoyed
Glad one stood out to you.
Thanks for sharing!
You bet!
I am halfway through The book swap and so far, and what I have heard it is not what you would call a contemporary romance. All I can say without giving away too much is that it has serious topics (tw) and very little romance (so far that I have read).
Great vlog and list that I will have add to my tbr.
OK, good to know. Thanks for your input.
all of them look good to read
Added The Book Swap to my list. 😊
It sounds like a good one! Here's hoping we both enjoy it.
The Mythmakers looks so good!
I know!
The Alice Hoffman review says it was extensively researched. Oh my Krista another “Krista made me do it” book!!!
Oh nice. I am glad to hear that.
WOW! These all sound good. Thank you for the wonderful wish list. I’m glad to see there are some characters you look forward to visiting again. That is the best thing about reading a series!
You're the series queen!
I'm super hyped for "The Night Guest" by Hildur Knutsdottir it nomes out on sep 3
Fun! Hope you love it.
I really want to read The book swap
The Briar Club stood out to me and as soon as you mentioned Boarding House in DC, I knew I had to put it on my list. When I first moved to DC in 70’s I lived in a Boarding House on Capitol Hill. An interesting year in my life. It also is being published in large print which my eye issues appreciate. Thanks for this video.
How fun to have that connection.
The cover of The Briar Club is beautiful and sounds very interesting. That’s definitely being added to my lists. I don’t usually care for romance books, but The Book Swap sounds like it could be one I like. Same with the booklover’s library, sounds good even though I usually shy away from wartime books. I love Alice Hoffman so when we flew away is definitely being added. Thank you, Krista!
I have since heard that the Book Swap has some heavier themes and isn't quite a Rom-Com. I'm even more interested in it now!
Richard Osman sounds great. Love his other books
Same. I am hopeful this new one by him is just as fun.
You missed the Blackbird Oracle. I didn’t read the original trilogy for a long time because I thought it would be like Twilight but it isn’t. The heroine is a 33 year old tenured professor at Yale, for a start. If you think you don’t like witchy books it’s different then too.
It's so funny to hear you explain who Richard Osman is!
His books have been megastically popular in the UK but he is a very well known TV presenter. So is kinda seen as "celebrity author".
(Prior to books, he was also known for holding the best biscuit championships on Twitter. British people can argue a lot about biscuits).
That's funny. I had no idea. haha.
The sci fi one sounds really interesting!
Sweet!
Thanks for putting Mythmakers on my radar because I LOVED Faithful Spy.
Faithful Spy was such a unique book. I'm glad there's another one coming out and I'm thrilled that it's Lewis and Tolkein. I think it will be so good.
This was awesome. They all sound great. Thank you.
You're welcome! Glad they sound good to you
So glad I was able to let you know about And So I Roar😊, I am so excited about it. Ooh, should we buddy read it?😍
Definitely! Maybe in the Fall.
@@BooksAndJams sounds good to me!
The Anne Frank one sounds so good
RIght?! Let's hope it is!
Curious to know your favorite places to find upcoming release dates. Love all of these great recommendations.
I typically do two things...check netgalley by date and google new books released in___ whatever month I'm looking for. Nothing fancy!
A new Abi Dare! 🎉
I am so very excited for that one!
Looks like some really good books. Something looks different. Did you get new glasses again?
Nope, nothing different, maybe just a few extra grays popping out in this one. haha.
@@BooksAndJams Yeah, tell me about it. 😄It is probably my eyes-cataracts.
Curious …how do you find new releases…is there a web site?
I use Netgalley and search by publish date. I also just Google new releases for ______ whatever month I'm looking for.
