    Guy Williams was strikingly handsome. I had good taste as a kid! Lol
    These old Password shows are just fantastic to pass the time away.

    Guy Williams! Geeze, he was the epitome of what an American hero type should be: handsome beyond belief, tall, intelligent with charming manners and a deep baritone voice.

      He certainly was! Many of his fans , myself included, believed he didn't just portray Zorro - he was Zorro!

      yes he was and what you are seeing here is Guy's professional demeanor. In real life he had a pronounced New York accent.

      Mais c'est parce qu'il était italien ; il est né à new-York quand ses parents venaient d'arriver de Sicile. Les italiens sont élégants, intelligents (leur quotient intellectuel est supérieur à la moyenne européenne) et ils ont beaucoup de charme.

    I love Irene Ryan' putting her hand on that of the contestant (I watched a couple of these segments, and she did it consistently). What a great way to calm their nerves and put them both on the same level so they could play a good game.

      This is a hallmark of a good game show host. Dick Clark was also like this in the various 'Pyramid' versions - after the game, he would offer clues to the response to see if it would have worked.

      Armando Joseph Catalano. That swagger made females swoon. Back in the early 50's first, as Zorro/Don Diego DeLaVega.

    What I like about the lost in space cast is they always went out of their way to make sure Bobby May was acknowledged as part of the cast in the robot, cool for Guy to give him that plug on here.

    I like to see the touching that goes on....It's kind of nice and genuine. Irene gave a clue as Santa Monica in another show and wasn't allowed it yet Guy said Los Angeles and it was allowed.

    GRANNY and GUY - when their popularity was humongous. Great to find these old and rare videos - where we can see our favorite celebs in a different environment than where we normally see them - then we see what they are really like.

      And both of them had careers before The Beverly Hillbillies and Lost in Space. They were actually in a movie together - they both had very small parts.

    Guy would have made a good JFK! Irene was in the original cast of PIPPIN, but died during the run.

    Wow! Just to have played Password with Will Robinsonson's dad and Granny Clampett woulda been awesomely awesome!!
    Lucky kid! I would not have been able to speak playing with my idol from Lost in Space.. lol

      And the fact that you think of Williams as 'Will Robinson's dad' was exactly why he is little remembered now: the show was taken over by the 'camp' elements (partly because 'Batman' was a blockbuster in the same time slot) and emphasized Will and Dr. Smith and the Robot. Major West and Judy Robinson were almost 'and the rest' (as in Gilligan's Island), and the senior Robinsons fared little better.

      NBC resurrected the game less than a month ago. It airs on Tuesday nights. The new show is hosted by Keke Palmer and, like the original, features celebrity guests. Jimmy Fallon is a permanent celebrity guest.
      I watched it one night. There is a bit more silliness to it, but it sticks pretty close to the original format and rules. It’s enjoyable.

    Hollywood producers were off their rockers not casting Guy williams in major movie roles.His presence on the screen is undeniable. What a wasted talent.......Fools.

      I read somewhere that he gave up on making movies after a horse-riding accident in the early 1950s left him with a scar that would have been very unsightly if a scene required him to go shirtless.

      @@vincentfalsaperla Your comment prompted me to look him up in wikipedia. He did indeed have a horse-riding accident in 1953, which for some reason greatly affected his film career but he still pursued a TV career. He had a scar on his shoulder, but I guess it wasn’t so terrible he couldn’t be filmed shirtless.

      I totally agree! He certainly made a name for himself portraying Zorro, but I always felt he could have been another Clark Gable if circumstances had been more favorable.

      @@robsemail It affected his film career because he had to go into rehab for close to six months, and in Hollywood that might as well be ten years! Interestingly enough, part of his rehab involved going back to what his father had taught him as a child: fencing! His talent with a sword was part of what Disney was looking for when he cast Zorro.

    Every show, they ask the man what he does, and they ask the woman about her husband or family. It's like she's not a real person in her own right.

      That does happen often, but sometimes they ask men about their families, and sometimes they ask women about their work.

      I think it's because the show was weekly, so people didn't remember the guests from week to week. The stars are always remembered.
