When he's on it ....... he's really on it!! Don't think anyone has the level of smouldering intensity that Weller exudes, just tells you he really means it! ..... bloody brilliant.
I looked this up because I was improvising my own version on acoustic guitar and thought it would help to see the original. I watched this and decided to give up, lol. It put my hair on end and brought a tear to my eye (in a good way)., I don't usually even listen to his or this sort of music anymore but this was a great day and he was the best of his time by a long chalk but always collaborative with the music scene around him which was smart as well as humble. I know he's getting on a bit now but this kind of live performance lives on. The band is great and they are having a lot of fun. Love it! Thanks for everything Paul: from the inspiration of my teenage years to late middle age. You helped us survive and enjoy and we were lucky to have you there. I think I shall now go away and dry my eyes with a tissue.😊
Wow, what a great performance of this classic song. I love the studio version, but when Paul plays live it sends the song into a different league of its own. Just look at the emotion on Pauls face, hes living every second of the song. I cant think of many performers who put so much passion into their work. A true passionate performer, x factor and the voice, this is your homework, watch and digest. Thanks Paul.
Stephen Clarke well said..totally agree..the man loves what he does & does it with true passion..the secret of his staying power👍🏼Bravo Mr. Paul Weller👏👏👏
Love it x wish I had a pecock suit 2 ride this stormy weather coronavirus Mr weller u r the greatest singer I've heard and u came 2 chippen sobury gutted I wasn't there oh well maybe u might come again good health 2 u and family keep giving us great tunes xx
This must be 20 years ago at least. I was in work in West London and heard on the radio he would be playing live on the south bank at 5pm. I got ill very suddenly and had to leave work. I drove home and then got on the tube up there. If was a brilliant gig and l must say my favourite band line up. The best drummer in the world Steve White, Yolanda Charles on bass and the incredible Matt Deighton on guitar. I saw Matt last week playing in a pub. He's still one of the best guitarists I've ever seen.
Ha ha!.....Instantaneous illness at work is the best kind!......Did you spot Steve losing a stick?........Lucky bugger, I would have loved to see this live......
@lb11lb18 Its a lovely guitar, i've always wanted an SG like Weller's - with the tremelo arm. it looks the dogs bollocks, but they're not all that common.... and they'd be bloody expensive! Still, I could always track down 'n maybe test out a cheaper epiphone version... maybe an older korean-made model if possible.
9As a reminder, Jason Chaffetz is the guy who thought your healthcare costs the same as a T Mobile bill, so I wouldn’t exactly call him the foremost expert on the financial stressors of everyday Americans. t.co/wdYjUaRD8t
Soulful groovy live version.

At his best when angry and spitting... God love him.
At his peak! Nothing better than this. Great band around him too.
Saw him 2 months ago, and he opened with this song at an AWESOME intensity that instantly blew the whole rest of the festival away.

2.46.....Bye bye drumstick!......
I have listened to everything he's done.I know most of his latest stuff is shit. I guess its an addiction.
Weller has the single most awful camera work in all of his live clips. These amazing performances are ruined by nauseating camera work.
@risingone - well, what d'you expect? bankers, wankers and office wallahs....hardly yer hardcore groove crew!!!! ace gig tho.........
