also what weight did you buy? I was going for the 7.5g I think. Just relocating the washer on my scooter and using stock weights and polishing where they slide, My tach goes past 40, but its a little dead in the mid range. 32 to 40+ it's good though.

The belts are pretty inexpensive, and mine has lasted for over 11 years so far. Replacing it is easier than putting that limiting washer back on. So, I say the improved velocity and acceleration are worth the wear and tear on the belt, and the motor.

That is corect it is not a spacer it is a washer which spreads the load on the aluminum fan from the center of that slide when you take that spacer/washer out it concentrates the force of that slide on the back side of that aluminum fan pulley and will dig into it destroying the aluminum fan . This whole concept is done to move the 2 halves of the veriator closer togather to push the belt further out on the diameter of the veriator . Such a miniscule amount that that washer would take out will not take you up to that high of a speed gain Maybe one mile an hour if that . The lighter roller weights or slides will make a difference in how fast you pick up speed though Depending on the weight of the rider the heavier the weight of the rider the lighter weights you want to use it keeps the engines RPM band higher for longer Keeping the engine in the optimal power band before pushing the belt to the outer diameter of the veriator .
