Film Arena is a Czeck company. Their stuff usually sells out before pre-order but that particular one, they had forever. No one wanted it. Most people think that art is hideous.
The first "Thing" you showed looks like a "Glow in the Dark" ones from Wal Mart. I never saw that one but I bought a couple others that look exactly the same. E.T., Oblivion, 9, Lucy, but the ones I picked up were Blu-rays and had a green horizontal bar across the top. They usually do black slips with say Orange or Red or Green, but this one line they did a grey with that green color. And most of the time are DVDs. So I think it is one of those.

I had to pass on that Studio Canal edition because I couldn't afford it. Yet *another* reason why I left my old job. It *still* fucking hurts, not the least of which because the US editions were so cheap and bare bones.
This is one of my favorite films of the genre. But will I Quadruple Dip? Doubtful. I'm among those tired of these companies Holding Out until the very end, after you've already bought the VHS, the Blu-ray and 4k. But as long as we keep buying, they'll keep doing it. These movies from the 70's and Late 80's never look any better after Blu-ray to my eyes anyway, and sometimes the Blu-ray looks BETTER thanks to compression, and now AI cleanup. Just look at the New ALIENS in 4K. Despite all Cameron's (and some fans) Mental Gymnastics, side by side? I'll take the previous Blu-ray release. Grain and all.
Cinemuseum also put out a Lenticular one with the OG art, but i won't support that company. Awful. I picked up Both version of the Turbine box set. That is such a killer box set.
I bought 4k PRINCE OF DARKNESS because remember watching it in 92 when I was 14 and remember it was boring and not scary at all. Now I'm probably old enough to understand.....however after rewatching it i ended up actually falling a sleep. When I was teen i thought it was censored 😅 hence why not scary. I dont get why people rate this JC film.....yeah OK bit spooky though I was disapointed. It starts of kinda promising with interesting story concept which ends up going no where. Plus it so very slow, not enough zombies not much actually happens till end. The Church looks modern and not very gothic. The evil slime? wtf total Joke. Sorry I want to get it but it just a crap film which people should not recommend. I recommend to you the recently restored 4k film from umbrella made in 70s "Possession "....that is 😈 shit there
I see what you’re saying about PoD but I’ve always loved it since I was a kid. It just has a certain feel to it that I can’t explain, but I just love it! Possession is a masterpiece film, it’s one of my favorites! I can’t wait for second sight to release their version of it :)
I two Hd DVD players and really close to two hundred movies. The one's that still play are better or just as good to their Blu-ray rival. HD was way better looking and sounding than Blu-ray 📀. I know because I bought both when they first came out. 👍😎

The Thing is my favorite horror film of all time as well. Ever since I first saw it on HBO back in the day.
