I definitely love Baby Mario's victory animation. He couldn't lift the trophy himself and had his good buddy Yoshi to help him out.
I love how Waluigi was just cheering and Luigi was like omg and Luigi had enough and he just walked off😂
Smash victory screens don't even compare to these masterpieces
Is there only gold trophies, not silver or bronze
@@brendandoyle7508 what the h-e-double hockey sticks happened to Baby Luigi, Baby Bowser, Koopa Troopa, and Kamek, *AND WHY AREN’T THEY IN THAT GAME?!*
Why would they?
Fun Fact: Alex is voiced by Penn Badgley, known for Gossip Girl and You. He was 14 at the time.
Daisy's current portrayal might make her stand out as more than a Peach clone, but damn this early version is cute. I love her massive hair.
If it wasn't for the massive hair she had in her earlier gaming appearances, we could have seen more of her in video games during the 1990s. Why did classic Daisy suffer from bad execution? In America, outside of children, 90s society was very xenophobic. Back in the day, most people didn't realize Daisy was a different character only because she looked too similar to Peach in her early video game appearances. If there's anything to blame for Daisy suffering an identity crisis for a decade, it's our xenophobia. Don't get me wrong, we loved trying new things localized from Japan, it's just that the majority of Americans at the time didn't understand Japanese culture. Anyways, Daisy to me is Rule 63 Video Game Weird Al. If you think about it, Daisy was made to be Peach's tomboyish doppelganger anyway because Daisy and Peach share the same body type. I wouldn't consider Daisy a Peach clone per se, but rater her tomboyish doppelganger. If you love parody characters or like tough girl characters in video games, Daisy is your girl. The reason why I think Nintendo stole Daisy's design from Azalea is that they wanted people to understand that Daisy and Peach are different characters. Or else, they wanted to make up for the 90s as people wanted to see Daisy in video games but didn't know that she was a different character to begin with.
@@GardevoirBoy1991 I never thought of them being the same
@@jakeystarsuper Exactly! Stupid Americans got deceived by Daisy looking too similar to Peach in Mario Land, so Nintendo censored Daisy for major appearances for the 1990s!
They were just jarred and confused that Daisy got the damsel in distress role in Mario Land.
Not only that, many accused her of being a Peach clone just because her earlier designs looked too weird. As it seems, she first appeared at a time western society couldn't tolerate anything outside of the norm just because it was confusing for society to take seriously and it was too weird for kids. Japan didn't get deceived, but we did, and that wasn't fair! As it seems, Daisy was made to be femme fatale and tomboyish semi-clone of Peach. Back then, I hated that everything got censored just because it would deceive young children and it is too weird for their age. I'm glad we have matured because it wasn't intended to be offensive to kids in the first place. Scared of American children being deceived? Not cool. Although I feel sorry for Daisy getting restricted video game appearances, and is forever forced to stay in Peach's shadow, I'm glad she made numerous video game appearances. I'm not blaming people for Daisy's identity crisis, it's just that western society wasn't smart enough to keep up with Japan's weirdness, that's all...
@@jakeystarsuper Exactly. Daisy was never intended to be a Peach clone to begin with and she got censored for major video games during the 1990s only because many people got deceived by Daisy looking almost identical to Peach in her first appearance. That's why they didn't know she was a different character.
Their weak simple-minded mindset was to blame for Princess Daisy's identity crisis in the 1990s. I feel sorry for Nintendo not allowing Daisy making major playable video game appearances for the 1990s.Nintendo hand no intention to make Daisy to be a Peach clone. In reality, they wanted Daisy to be Peach's femme-fatale opposite. To summarize Daisy in Palutena's Guidance, Daisy make have looked almost identical to Peach at first glance, but make no mistake, she is a totally different character. Even if Daisy was Peach's Echo Fighter in Ultimate, Daisy was made to be Peach's tomboyish semi-clone with a femme-fatale personality. Peach and Daisy share the same body type, but they have opposite personalities. Peach is the modest girly-girl whereas Daisy is a tomboyish femme-fatale. The only reason why I didn't like Daisy getting censored for major video game appearances back in the day was because in her first appearance, she was just a flower-themed reskin of Princess Peach. That one CZcams video of Daisy being Nintendo's queen taught me that Daisy didn't make much 90s video game appearance only because she looked too weird for western society to take very seriously. I'm happy you remember that Daisy was not a Peach clone and wasn't intended to be one in the first place. The only reason why western society didn't take Princess Daisy very seriously in the 90s was because they got deceived by Princess Daisy being a flower-themed reskin of Princess Peach in her first two video game appearances. Even so, she's one of the best Nintendo underdogs in video game history.
It is. She reminds me of an anime protagonist.
3:31 Luigi be like "Bitch, the fuck outta here with that buuullshit" lmao
Watch your f*cking language
Baby Mario's animation was so adorable.
Same with Donkey Kong Jr.'s.
2:15
DK: Man forget this cup, I want those bananas!
I never knew that princess peach have telekinesis to control the trophy and rapidly take it.
And about Daisy....she's pretty cute and silly and i like it 😊
It's pretty unknown, but canonically Alex (the human kid with a blue cap) won this Tennis Tournament
Canonically?
@@kidz4p509 in Mario Tennis Power Tour it is confirmed that Alex won against some "strange people"
At 7:07, if you look closely. The non Mario characters Kate. She's kisses her own trophy. Talk about weird but it's her own trophy. Lol. Also, in one of Kate's trophy celebrations. I feel bad for Harry. The non Mario characters. All he wanted was to propose to Kate. Then gets rejected from her. Oh well, there's plenty of women out there in the sea.
2:14 (The brain of Donkey): OHHHH BANANA!!!!!~
Didn't know Peach has telekinesis
Espera...y si...
Peach es una princesa, pero no se sabe nada de sus padres, osea, de los reyes.
Y si la reina...era un Gardevoir?
Turbio...🌚
Well she can float lol
3:24Yaaay!! Ima Numbah Wah! Hahahahha!!! look! Ima dance! Ima sing! Ima so happy! HAHAHAHAHA!!
Luigi: Hell Naw. Im outta here
i love waluigi's, luigi just did not care at all
The tennis, golf and strikers games give so much personality to these characters more than the main games ever could.
2:16 oh these are pretty cool bananas
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
0:51 Luigi's trophy gets stolen by Lakitu
Come back here. What's the matter with you? Ohhh, my trophy!
@@airjordan60 Lakitu: HAHAHAHAHA!!!! It's mine!!!! Finders keepers, loser!!!
Daisy’s trophy presentation is so cute and adorable 🥰😊. 3:47
As well as dk jr
Same
I miss this version of Daisy. Ack when she wasn't a tomboy, but rather a go getter with a silly side.
@@alextalbain9269 OH God No... the fact that Tomboy Daisy is way more Entertaining, Iconic and Unique to her, compare to N64 Era Daisy who legit gives me Peach Vibes (but Worse)...
@@alextalbain9269 Daisy is silly but cute :)
3:47 - Jessica Chisum had quite a lot of charm with her Daisy voice.
In fact, I’m pretty sure Jessica’s portrayal of Daisy was probably the best, because the one we’ve seen since Mario Party 3 has this "be #1 at everything" mindset and it sorta bothers me (don’t get me wrong, it’s not a mindset I hate, but you have to do it right - see SEGA with Maguro Sasaki).
Hopefully Giselle Fernandez’s portrayal of Daisy from Mario Wonder onward will be a step in the right direction, because so far vibes of Jessica’s Daisy are all I’m getting from her.
I agree, her voice is so cute and soothing. As much as I do like Daisy, I like these type of female characters better😅
I miss Donkey Kong Jr... I wish they would've brought him back for Mario Tennis Aces, 'cause he's the only one who didn't make it back with the rest of the perfect attendance crew (sans the GBC characters).
Me too
He wasn't in Mario Power Tennis, either... or am I mistaken, because I only played the demo.
Or donkey kong country
He’s back again, as donkey Kong jr!
Lol donkey kong Jr is Donkey Kong. If you played the original Dk Jr, it was Donkey Kong saving Cranky Kong after the original donkey kong game you play as jump man. They reference this in the latest DKC returns and tropical freeze I think
Why would Toad’s celebrate creep you out?! He’s so cute!
He is my favourite character in this game
He created spores which probably turn into more toads!
2:52 Like Father like son! Donkey Kong is one proud papa!
The Donkey Kong we see in this game is actually the son of Donkey Kong Jr because Cranky Kong (DK's grandfather) is confirmed to be the Donkey Kong from the Arcade game.
@@sebastiantheshadowkong8798 call me naive, that may be so, but you gotta admit, Donkey Kong is very proud while holding Jr. in his arms.
@@sebastiantheshadowkong8798 . . . Then why do we see DKjr (who clearly hasn't aged a bit) hugging Donkey Kong like they aren't gonna tear the fabric of reality?
What is this, Meet the Robinsons?
@@7ElevenKevinNG The same reason why baby Mario is in this game.
@@sebastiantheshadowkong8798 But at least we see him with Yoshi
0:52 Oh my trophy! xD
happy 32nd anniversary princess daisy!!! :3
wish they brought back her clumsiness as it fits her being a tomboy and was very cute.
happy 21st anniversary mario tennis 64!!! :3(and waluigi.)
0:50 poor Luigi
Lakitu stole his trophy as you look closely
2:50
One of the few times (or even the ONLY time) we see DK Jr. with his son.
It's so weird how this game was really into showing that the two DK's are from the arcade
That DK(the current one here) is not the same one from the arcade. The one from the arcade's 1981 game is the FIRST DK (Cranky Kong).
@@zoewheeler3927 Yup, and the Current DK is the son of DK Jr and the grandson of Cranky Kong.
Camelot was probably unable to get David Wise's permission to use DKC music for this game at the time.
2:52 The weird fact that DK Jr. (The baby) is the father and DK is his son. So that dad is a baby and the son is an adult instead of vice versa
3:38 is the best one
this game really just said "f*ck you" to luigi
How could they do Luigi dirty? He could've done the death stare
I miss THIS version of Daisy. Back when she wasn't an athletic tomboy, but rather a sweet person/go getter who liked having fun, can be a little silly, and gave everyone a charming smile. She didn't need to be a tomboy to be athletic is what I'm getting at.
I agree though I heard she was supposed to be labeled as a tomboy from the start
She still is a sweet person deep down, and she still does like having fun.
@@jakeystarsuper it's in the manual of Super Mario Land but for some reason the spin-offs took a while to get the memo
The Mario Bros have their trophies stolen by Wario and Lakitu
That's one thing I strongly hate about this game
I love how cute daisy's is.
Daisy is being silly and happy that she’s okay
Wario land 3 out of the woods overworld theme underrated theme only used in few Mario games
Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi and Donkey Kong: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Peach and Daisy: 😍😍😍😍.
Baby Mario and Donkey Kong junior: ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️.
Toad, Paratroopa and Birdo: 😅😅😅😅😅😅.

Mario Power Tennis still held this tradition. Too bad it ended in Open and onwards...
Just like the Golf series, Nintendo needs to bring back the human characters.
I like the waluigi part he's so cool 💪🏻
I was expecting Birdo to kiss her trophy
Honestly I didn't know the gb characters made an appearance
The fact that Alex is Penn Badgley is sending me rn lol
Ok, but why is no one talking about Nina??? She is so cute with her mom like that! 🥹🥹🥹
Who on earth are those 4 other characters I've never seen before(Alex, Harry, Nina, and Kate)? Guess I haven't unlocked every character like I thought I did!
They're from the GBC version of Mario Tennis. They're unlocked connecting the Transfer Pak and a copy of GBC Mario Tennis to the N64 game.
There are also extra courts that can be obtained through this method, such as an extra Bowser stage, and even a Waluigi court!
@@abonne3154don't forget the wario court
I wish I had a Nintendo 64! 😭😭😭
They’re pretty common online and you can find them in quality condition for cheap as well.
@@pablonun1292 I have no idea what you’re saying!!!!!!!
You can find one in decent condition for like 100-130 bucks on Ebay or Amazon
@@Green_Stache_Productions Oooh! Or since Mario 3D All Stars isn’t out anymore, maybe the N64 games could release online on the Switch!
@@lfraycray idk if I would count on Nintendo to put it on Switch online seeing how it seems like they don’t pour a lot of resources into Switch virtual console. If you really wanna play it you could always just emulate it. Or buy it on the Wii U or just get an N64. But who knows. Maybe one day it will be on Switch online
I love how they talk way more ín this
I wish they kept Birdo with this voice along with being able to talk. I hate her modern voice. (Yes I know it's a guy)
I don't think Baby Mario's was meant to be at a higher frame rate the song didn't finish
Daisy is such an adorable and fan favorite character! This game is also such a masterpiece! Number 6 on my list of best games on N64!!❤❤❤
I really hate Mario and Luigi's trophy animations so much because I really wish their trophies didn't get stolen.
But it's so funny

I feel bad for the Mario Bros. getting their trophies stolen by Wario and Lakitu.
@@NinChu4DragonFan I know right me too why would Nintendo make something like that alongside the Super Smash Bros character reveal trailers
2:52
that is exactly how i see the the donkey kong situation
i believe modern dk is the same one from the arcade game and dk jr his son
no. Cranky Kong is canonically the og Donkey Kong from the arcades. And since Cranky is modern DK's grandfather, that would make DK Jr. modern DK's dad.
@@chiebukachibee-zoraedu what I said is my opinion
@@lohermosodeserboricua1508 okay
2:47 So if modern DK is supposed to be Donkey Kong Jr/the son of Donkey Kong Jr, then what’s this?
That’s modern dk’s son, sadly he doesn’t ever pop up in any of the other games really :(
1. Modern DK is the son of Donkey Kong Jr.
2. He’s younger than his son because of time travel shenanigans.
@@themoneyguy6163me when i lie
All won
I have never figured out how to unlock Harry, Kate, Nina, and Alex.
You need to get a gameboy color, the gbc version of mario and a transfer pak for the n64, start a new game in the gbc version and select alex for one file and nina for the second then when your're done, remove the gbc gamen and put it in the transfer pak, plugin the trasfer pak to the n64 controller and boot up the n64 version, the transfer pak menu should show if it doesn't then rest it a few times then in the trasfer menu hit refresh then transfer and you have them unlocked and you can also exchamge data between both games, you can get more courts for the n64 version that way, and ger more characters in the gbc version too
Nina's is so sweet
Lakitu runs of luigi
So is Nina supposed to be Maple's daughter?
2:52 Donkey Kong Jr met his future self.
Actually, Donkey Kong Jr is Modern DK's Father, so Donkey Kong Jr met his future son.
Camelot injected the otherwise generic Mario characters with personality

Just finding out that theres ff7 ahh characters in mario tennis. Dog wtf
Who the heck is Nina ?
Well there from the gba pack
Mario Tennis N64 Hack 4 New Characters MODS
Diddy Kong
Bowser Jr
Baby Luigi
Princess Rosalina
To be honest, this game would’ve been much better if they didn’t have those non-Mario characters.
To be fair those characters are just as canon to the Mario universe as Waluigi is, or at least they were when the game was brand new.
But I get your point, less generic humans, more iconic Mario characters.
@@ArmaBiologica35 Generic humans were bland characters anyway, so it's understandable why Nintendo rejects them.
Here's 4 Characters to replace them with that meet the "human" requirement that this game was going 4, 2 girls, 2 boys, like it is. Captain Syrup and Pauline, and for the boys, Foreman Spike and Stanley The Bugman. Or if you want you could have Prince Pine. Just good ol Mario human characters that were looked over when making this game
The reason they're there was because there weren't many Nintendo characters at the time they felt they could use.
