To answer a few of your questions (I've owned an E1000 for 2 years): The useful load is displayed at the beginning of the video, but with full fuel the plane has 1100 pounds of payload. I've carried 6 adults and their bags with full fuel. Max gross weight is 8000 lbs, which is about one ton lighter than a Pilatus PC-12 also with a 1200 hp PT6 engine, so the E1000 greatly outperforms it.
The plane doesn't yet have onboard weather radar, but comes pre-wired for it. Our plane's right wingtip will be unbolted and replaced with a new one with a pod containing a 10-inch Garmin GWX8000 unit.
The G1000 NXi is the updated version of the G1000 and is hardly "old avionics:" It does everything the G3000 does, and many pilots prefer the NXI's real buttons over touchscreens, especially in turbulence. The Epic's panel layout is really well thought-out: Before taxi and takeoff you push buttons left-to-right, and after landing and for shut-down, right-to-left.
The E1000 flies higher (FL340), climbs, and cruises faster than a Cirrus Vision jet or TBM 960, while burning less fuel. We top storms that these other single-engine planes can't get above.
We routinely get called an "Epic jet" when being pointed out to other aircraft by ATC, and we've had airline pilots who see us flying at 34,000 feet say "what are you doing up here?"

The Epic is a great machine; built 5 miles from my home😀

I would have liked to see this video be about 3x longer with some more detailed in-flight demonstration, a better look at the interior, etc.

Totally agreed here. Instead of telling us about the 4000 fpm, show us; same for taking off and 300+ kts cruise. Otherwise, thanks for the vid. ;)

I’ve been flying in Epic for years! Love this plane. Beautiful bird, comfortable, and gets me where I need to go every time!

Would be my first choice in that price tier...Whaat a beautiful bird. Great Advert and why I refuse to pay AOPA dues.

What does this plane have to do with AOPA dues?

Another fluff piece from AOPA, barely-disguised advertising. What is it like to fly the Epic? We still don't know after watching this infomercial. AOPA continues to move away from roots GA and pilots in general, in its quest for the almighty corporate dollar. As a 32-year AOPA member, I become more disheartened every day with what AOPA has become - it should rename itself as COPA - corporate aircraft owner's association.

100% agree, it’s become an absolute BS organization. Canceled my membership for years ago, worthless.

I agree videos like this are completely useless

They are just following the money, same as lots of FBOs that are prioritizing turbine money over private ga aircraft!

What about on-board radar? Also, a new airplane with old avionics???

    Nice bird…
However I am more interested in knowing what the useful load is, what max gross is. Etc
If you’ve got an aircraft this size with 1200 hp ISA. and you can’t figure out a way to get in and out of a 2200 foot strip you need more training.

What is this? No information, just clickbait. Disappointing, AOPA.

What was that?!?! Is AOPA now an advertising agency?
