Wrong, wrap resists accidents. Especially the silicone wrap. You just ground it to the frame and connect it to your battery. Hit the bass, the fans turn on and it slowly uncrinkles back to its original position. The frame underneath may be mangled but only if you use cheap silicone. Don't get that Chinese crap, Japanese or German is the way to go. Which goes with any silicone wrap

I work at a Sign Making company as a Graphic Designer and we get this multiple times daily. People literally never understand that youâre paying mostly for the labour and time taken on something so intricate. Kind of funny when we get clients who order vinyl stickers/window films and say âOh itâs easy, Iâll just install it myselfâ then a couple days later they call back and request for a quote to reproduce the goods but for us to install them instead.

Same thing with my dad and husband. They build custom cabinets and get asked to paint. Then customers can't understand why paint is more expensive than clear coat or stain.

@@davefx7949 just like the paint job on the car it crashes into đ€Ł it's preference one of my motorcycles is wrapped matte military green simply because it's a 1990 yamaha and I wanted to preserve the original paint underneath which was an sunburst red/orange. Sure I could put new paint on the bike for cheaper but new paint isnt worth nearly as much as factory paint in good shape. So now I get whatever colour I want and if I don't like it I heat it up, remove it (which isn't as easy as what most people seem to think) and it's like I never wrapped the bike - now try that with a paint job.

Also, as someone who has dealt with car wrap in one or my old jobs. The people who say they can get it for cheaper don't realize that the material to wrap a small car (say '84 corolla size) is still a lot of money. I worked in a printing business and I remember hearing one of the sales people talk about getting a car wrap printed and installed for cheaper on their own.

@@aquabluerose7734 That's actually not true considering the first points of contact in most accident are the bumpers, which are made of plastic and not actually painted at all. The sticker material would be damaged in a normal fender bender whereas your plastic bumper would be fine

I've tried wrapping a tail fin on my wife's car because it was left over from a friend's job. I had extra and still fucked it up. I can't even draw stick figures right.
Well anyone can do it, its super simple. But to do it really nice, and be able to wrap conplex areas youâd still need experience to make them look good.
All of what people said is correct. Charging ridiculously 3x times higher than any paint job. For the folks out there, itâs easier than what you think trust me! I did wrap my Tesla and have done it in my garage. Watch some videos online and do it yourself. It will cost you (Your time, and $400 max for the tools) If you have thousands laying around, then sure go ahead and pay for someone to get it done for you.

As a business owner, I can tell you who knows if your prices are too high... Your customers. If they're paying, your prices are either just right, or maybe even too low. These days every wrap installer has competitors, and customers know if your prices are higher than others. So if they still pay, congratulations, you've built a great reputation!
That's not easy at all!!! It's very difficult. I can't even successfully put a wrap on a piece of furniture that is straight, much less a highly intricate curved object. Only loosers that hate their own life would critisize this talented person. I love watching these videos because they are satisfying. It looks gorgeous!!!

Started at a sign company and Iâm getting trained in vehicle wraps starting with my own car. About 3/4 of the way done and it is insanely difficult keeping track of tension to reduce peeling. A wrap done right is worth every penny

As much as I agree I think I figured out what they actually meant. That if you get in a small accident, the wrap would peal even if all it would take to fix the dent is to pop it back out with a mallet.

No real paint obviously works as armor. Your car is completely fine after an accident. But if it's wrapped the structural integrity isn't assured.

@@MaxCaissie itâs called PPF (paint protection film) very expensive but very useful.
@@Rob-co3eu To be fair, not every manufacturer does this. My dad worked at a Kia and Cadillac dealer before, and the caddies came wrapped, interior and exterior. He used to spend hours peeling plastic and vinyl.
The KIAs came as-is.
@@Rob-co3eu tell me you donât work in the industry without telling me you donât work in the industry. I literally work at a Maserati dealership and all of our cars come fully-wrapped in a cheap but effective white plastic or fabric that we have to peel off the car before we inspect it.
