- Hi!
Here is a story I've always wanted to do. The Girl in the Fireplace. Terrific atmosphere, tension and memorable moments. Now with a classic who twist! I feel this story could easily have fit in Season 3. Enjoy!

this actually feels like a classic episode. some people would have just put it in black-and-white, but you've altered it enough that it that if you squint your eyes, you could believe this aired in the 1960s. Excellent work.
That’s means a lot! It’s been a real joy to try and recreate it as authentically as I can :)
@@HudsonMedia the Midnight one was unsettling as all heck.
These are quickly becoming my favourite videos on CZcams. I can't wait for the next one!
Thanks man! I’ve had such fun creating these 😁 glad you’ve enjoyed them!
This is better quality than my official upscaled blu-ray.
Honestly I could watch a full episode in this format, a lot of fun!
Thanks bud! 😁
Absolutely adore these!!! As long as you keep enjoying it NEVER stop making them!
Super glad you've been enjoying these! :) Been such a wonderful surprise to see people enjoying these edits aha.
These are great, very creepy. The episodes/clips you’ve picked have all worked so well
When I thought about this story, I was super eager to do the scene with young Reinette and Ten. It’s just a perfectly classic who esq scene!
@@HudsonMedia really good choice 👌 I was looking forward to this one. Only discovered your videos a few days ago but I saw you’d posted about this and couldn’t wait to see what you would do with it
These are such fun, love how you have the clock ticking and how well it weaves in with your score, nice and atmospheric, I keep expecting Vincent Price to show up! Really like the grainy old style look you give the footage too. It's not just grayscale, it looks legit like old film.
I want to hear you do your own take on the actual theme from this episode, love that theme.
That could be really fun! I’ll have to give that a go sometime 😁
Gosh imagine Vincent Price in an episode of Doctor Who? That would be just the best.
TERRIFYING
Thank you! 😁
i need more of these
More are on the way :)
This is honestly awesome! I'm really tempted to make something like this on my own.
Go for it! They’re certainly very satisfying to produce 😁😁
I love Girl in the Fireplace.
One of my favourite stories :)
@@HudsonMedia It is my most favourite of all of New Who.
Cool. The Camilla joke however is an anachronism for 1963, even for timetravellers. After all this is supposed to be written in the early sixties. Wallis Simpson could have been a fitting joke, but I think by the standard of the era it would not have been considered appropriate for a BBC family program.
Man, these just keep getting better and better. Well done, keep up the good work. 👍
Thanks Shaun! Another one it’s way this week :)
@@HudsonMedia np and looking forward to it.
Another great work. Would add the First Doctor would be ideal for this episode. Well, some elements of the story would have to go, and it would fit.
Yeah for sure, some little rejigging and it would make a cracking pseudo-historical Hartnell venture 😁
@@HudsonMediai'm often reminded of the fact that the fall of rome was canonically the first doctor's fault in the whoniverse
@@littleredruriaha very true! It’s a funny thought to consider the most responsible Doctor caused such a catastrophe 😭😂
this is brilliant!! Love it.
One of my personal favourite edits :)
I demand the whole 10th series demade this instant.
oh shit, Midnight would be terrifying af in this style.
@@nunuarthas8680 Midnight is already on my channel 😁
@@HudsonMedia oh gonna check it out later! as a 60s enjoyer your channel is an instant sub for me.
Classic ,😢 what happened
How do you make it sound like its from the 60s as well as long?
An effect in Premiere Pro where you can change the EQ of the audio :) (frequencies and such)
exellent
Thank you! :)
Some of dialogue was too muffeled in this. You using a low pass at around 5khz? Make it 6db/oct slope.
Thank you so much for the advise! I tend to do the same settings but sometimes it simply doesn’t come out as it usually does so I sort of experiment. So thank you for the advise! 😁
@@HudsonMedia I think looking at the FFT of early who and copying the fall off. Or using match EQ. The music has higher frequencies in. You could cut less from dialogue and cut a bit more from music. Then on master bus use an opto compressor. Just ideas to try
@@MePeterNicholls I'm not op but this is immensely helpful as someone who edit audio files a lot! thank you!
@@nunuarthas8680 they’re just starting points. Always got to compare with what your trying to emulate
Can you do a 1960s world enough and time that is too date my favourite modern who episode and it honestly gives off 1960 who vibes I think I asked for one already before so sorry for asking alot just so beautiful to see this stuff 😭
Aha it’s no worry at all! I get quite a few requests so it’s good people remind me :)
I’m taking a short break atm. I’ve got a Cyberman and Dalek story coming out in the mean time.
But when I’m back to it, Silence in the Library and World Enough and Time are first on the list :)
@@HudsonMedia oooo definitely gonna get my notifications on for this channel
Great work, but as a non-native English speaker I am in a dire need of subtitles xD
I do apologise! As a native speaker. I ALSO sometimes need subtitles when watching these edits 😭
Still trying to get the right balance with the audio!
@@HudsonMedia Hahah, thank you, but I must say it's a really interesting work you are doing. I don't know anything about video and sound editing, so I can't tell how hard it is, but I really appreciate it! Nice idea :D I like it
Will it be possible to see it in colour? With the 60s vibes?
I plan to do some episodes in a 70s and 80s editions in the future which will be in colour :)
Vashta narada next?
I’ve got a Cyberman and Dalek story up next and then taking a break. But ‘Silence in the Library’ is the priority when I start up again :)
