  • It has been very cold recently so the changing temperature has caused some very strong winds and dramatic seas. Since I don't know if this storm has a name I will name it Storm Jeffrey. Since I live on the seafront I don't have go far to see the wild and very noisy waves. The views are fairly similar to some previous videos but also from areas that are safe. You have to be careful not to be hit by a rogue wave-a wave that can suddenly become a monster. As you can see standing too close to the sea wall you can get very drenched and even knocked over, plus a very wet camera and possibly a water damaged phone. It's exciting and the bigger the wave the better as long as one is at a distance. The power and variation of the sea is amazing! (Protect your hearing- keep the the volume of the sea down a bit as it can be very loud!)

Thank goodness for your British seawall! Takes a beating for sure. I have had the pleasure of visiting St. Ives from the United States and never got to see a surf like this. Beautiful.

Look at those waves. St Ives really does get a battering this time of year. Imagine how expensive those houses must be to insure

@Arthur Orum - Is it ever like that in the summer or just the winter? It would be quite nice to sit on those benches on a hot day and get a good soaking. Great videos, say hello to Amanda for me - tell her to put a mask on!

She doesn't like to put a mask on. As I get older I I would always like to put a mask on. It does get hot in the summer but the storms are not so severe but there are some storms. The weather in Cornwall is hardly ever boring!

i was renting one of those places when a storm hit like this, it was cool the wave going clean over the kitchen and hitting the bedroom window 15 feet behind us
