  • The reason I made this video particularly to review the generic Tuya Zigbee Hubs found of Lazada Philippines. I could not find any that were in English. For this I went thru the unboxing, connection process, distance test and reviewed the following hubs;
    1) Moes Wireless Hub - invol.co/cl781av - Php 715 / USD 14
    2) Generic Wireless Hub (usb-c) - invol.co/cl781bb - Php 700 / USD 14
    3) Moes Multi-mode Hub - invol.co/cl781bj - Php 1608 / USD 32
    Chapters:
    0:00 Intro
    0:11 Intro Message
    1:18 Unboxing - moe's wireless hub
    3:33 Unboxing - generic wireless hub (usb-c)
    5:33 Unboxing - moe's multi-mode hub
    8:48 Connection - moe's wireless hub
    14:08 Distance test - moe's wireless hub

    Hi
    thanks for the video,
    i have a question maybe it is dumb
    but do these hubs save the automations?
    so that if the internet goes off i still can get the automation between all zigbee devices.
    and another question i noticed the third hub was labeled as mesh, does it mean that the previous two hubs doesn't support mesh network or they do?

    • @t3ph

      Glad to help, a sub would be the best thanks! 👌🚗☁
      1) do these hubs save the automations? - if it is Tuya it is save on the cloud/tuya servers so no not in these hubs.
      2) if the internet goes off i still can get the automation between all zigbee devices. - no, you need to setup a local server.
      3) i noticed the third hub was labeled as mesh, does it mean that the previous two hubs doesn't support mesh network or they do? - This is usually only for Zigbee, the zigbee light switches and power outlets serves as a mesh link to extend the range.
      However I went with WIFI and just segmented my IoT environment.

    Can you run multiple Gateways?
    For example if I have this upstairs but require one downstairs would I purchase another gateway or a repeater?

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před 2 lety +2

    Hi,
    I have the first one but I am unable to connect that with a Tuya vibration sensor !
    The device is not recognise on pairing mode.
    I have other zigbee devices already paired and works fine.
    How to check zigbee hub compatibility?

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před rokem

      they should all be compatible as a ZigBee is a standard. Your tuya vibration sensor might be broken.

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před rokem +1

      Depends what you want to do. I personally went with Wifi due to the range of zibgee and generally ZigBee is more expensive.
      I would suggest Moe's or Smatrul. I have tested both and the support is good. Check out my other videos I have reviews for light switches as well as smart outlets 🤗

    Hi, do you know if Tuya Zigbee Hub can pair with Xiaomi wall switches?

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Chai, funny i have been researching this as well. I have spoken to some distributors and they say no. This is why I have been trying to stick to a more open eco-system like Tuya. But of course the devices are not as refined as Xiaomi. There is a by pass to this using "Home Assistant". This consolidates any brand of switch that you would buy.

    Did you try to play music over Bluetooth??? But you didn't try connecting any sensors, these companies have their own senors that don't work with other zigbee hubs...which defeats the purpose of zigbee....

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před rokem +1

      no based my my real world experience it is more like bluetooth range. Which is why you need repeaters. I just ended up doing wifi since the routers now a days are much more powerful. 👍🏽

      Hi T3 just want to ask. As I’m just starting to put up a smart automation at my house. How many zigbee hub do I need? And what repeater you can suggest for a better range and minimize the lag. Specially the house is 3 stories. I’m purchasing all moes product so it will be only one app and brand.

    • @t3ph
      @t3ph  Před 2 lety

      yes I have the 3 gang switch of Moes without neutral. I have to keep the hub fairly close to one of the switches like about 3 - 5 meters line of sight to make sure the lag is minimal. But for some reason the range of the switch is stronger than the ZigBee hub.
