Just want to say from a fellow Aussies perspective , you guys are very inspiring and I love how layed back you are, Lenny reminds me of a true Aussie 🍺🇦🇺
It might be a little late in the season now (I assume as Riley is wimp for the cold and the winter storms, ie some REAL storms, are coming), but you should have rented a boat in Tromsø (I also assume you had to fly there to get to Svalbard) and sailed the *Lofoten archipelago.* Boreal-yachting charter is a good choice.
Come to Florida & show us how to do it me and my son and hubby love watching your videos 😀
shucks riley. my niece and nephew can't watch your video's any more with me cause of the F word you often use!
Thanks! Appreciated! Thanks for the price! I don’t know how to do that 😜😜😜Maybe someone else can have it ! MY NEPHEW IS AUSSIE BOY TOO ! THE SAME AGE WITH LENNY ! 💞💞💞
I loved Riley's "thank you" at the very end. Usually, he's a bit wry and keeps his "feelings" to himself, but this was truly sincere... Thanks Mate!
9:49 - You know you're used to beeing at sea when dolphines just pass by and you don't even notice 🤣 Love you guys! Thanks for a great episode
hahah I was gunna comment about this too! Just some casual dophin's' swimmin by hahah. epic.
I was hoping someone else spot them 😂
I saw it too, you beat me to the comment
Caught that too! Rewound the video to make sure it wasn’t some debris. So cool!
i had to pause and watch it again, they did not even flinch
There was a different vibe to this episode, very warm and heartfelt Loved it The smiles of Lenny & Darwin say it all What a childhood ❤ Elayna - you’re doing great Can see you’re overwhelmed at times but you know when to ask for help which is key You’re both an inspiration Fair winds & wish you all the best with your ‘secret’ ventures 😊
Definitely looking forward to the arctic trip. Also, man do you 2 have an uncanny knack for finding the best crew… here’s to Alex & Ellie. ✌️❤️uM
We’ve been very lucky with crew 🥹
Can’t wait to share the Arctic Circle vids!!
Riley's morning hair is Epic !! Much love, care and blessings to this family/ crew/ channel. 🌞🌴⛵️
Yep, glad they are over the fringe (bangs) stage!!❣️
Another big shout out, and respectful hug and handshake to Ellie and Alex. I cant imagine you guys being able to do this CZcams venture without your great crews. And you have had many good crews! Annapolis, MD USA. My ol' stomping grounds in the 60's and 70's and 80's. I have a ton of family there. Wish I was there for this. Cant wait to see the Annapolis episodes. Annapolis is one of the most unique, intriguing, and special sailing "towns" / "cities" on this planet. The Chesapeake Bay is one in a thousand, regarding sailing towns on Earth. You will really enjoy yourselves as you adventure again in Annapolis!!
I can promise you that watching these 20 years from now will bring you to tears of joy. Thank you for this one- sailing looks tough- you guys are charging. Cheers!
Yes but make sure you have all of them stored somewhere else besides youtube. Who knows what or if CZcams will be in 20 years. Remember Google owns them and Google likes to dumb almost everything at some point.
Elayna, the quality and creativity of the animations are getting better and more clever each time! They are a great addition to the videos.
This is my favorite type of video...just seeing your everyday sailing family life.
I really "felt" you guys in this video. So vulnerable and sweet in the best way. Thank you.💜
You guys put out the best content on CZcams ... I truly appreciate all of your hard work. Great
It's always such a treat when a new La Vagabonde video comes out. Thank you! 4 year old Lenny swabbing the deck was priceless.
Wow Lenny is 4 now so that means I've been watching and being part of your family for around 5 years now it doesn't seem that long but time flies when one is having fun with there favourite people
Thank you for being here and much love to you all
We hope you guys are ok? We are watching the news in Australia and seen hurricane Ian 😱 holy SHIT!!!! Keeping our arms, legs, fingers and toes crossed for your family and yacht! 🙏❤️
Wait wait!!! You have been planning the Arctic Circle since before your meet and greet at the Coconut Grove 4 yrs ago. I even asked you about the planned Arctic trip and Riley completely disced my question, LOL. My take on the proposed trip: Itchy Boots road her motorcycle through the area and the costal region is absolutely beautiful. Can’t wait. Thanks Riley for not listening to me then as my answer would have been different.
Always a pleasure, thanks. Watched a couple old episodes last week, it's fun to do knowing where your lives are today. Good vibes your way!
What inspirational and incredible parents you both are. Your willingness to live such an unconventional life, facing all the challenges that come along with it with such courage, strength and honesty, makes me overwhelming proud of you both & leaves me hungry with desire to have my own adventure. What a unforgettable childhood you’re giving your babies, they already have and will continue to develop an undeniable abundance of knowledge, skills and resourcefulness. By far the most curiously delightful and enlightening CZcams channel, thank you for sharing your precious experiences with us🌊✨💓
If I was in your position, I would charter a boat somewhere you haven't sailed and unlikely to in the near future. Like the west-coast of the USA or Vancouver Canada .
Or Ningaloo reef and you can play stink finger with dingo Barrington
Would love to see them sail the east and west coast of Mexico. New Caledonia would also be super cool, just not not sure if they’ve previously sailed there? Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia are going to be awesome‼️Hopefully they’ll also be able to sail certain areas in the Philippines like El Nido.
@@amyhollingsworth16 they did with big Donny d
@@jackjfjfjf , Sailing from San Diego to San Francisco with a stop on Catalina Island and a few other places along the way would be super cool.
@@amyhollingsworth16 That would be a cool trip, along the west coast and continue up to Vancouver BC.
I can’t tell you how much I learn visually through the cartoons!!!! It helps so much
Your so blessed to have the people in your lives to sail with you all, they all seem to love your boys which coming from a mom of 5, is priceless. Stay safe ❤❤❤❤
Sometimes when you feel overwhelmed, its good to sit & write a list of your Blessings. It tends to put things back in perspective. Always worked for me.
I can always count on you guys for a great 25 minutes! Love you all!
Rough sailing and now you have Hurricane Ian heading your way! Hope y'all find a safe place to ride the storm out!
Luckily the videos are about a month behind, so we’re out of the way 🙏 thinking of everyone else in the area though. ❤
Does that mean your in the arctic rn?!
Lenny's eyes at 7:52, when he finally makes the horn sound off - precious - Thanks for sharing another great time with your family
Best Video for a long time!!!! real stuff!!! less production, just 2 dudes living It!! Love to see the passion, Riley- Skipper, that's his thing, Elayna- keeping everything together. Cheers Dudes now your keeping it real!! Thats what got you here!!!
Loved that you sailed the North Carolina coast. We were taught in school about Hatteras and it being the Graveyard of the Atlantic and the famous pirates around Morehead.
I love your shows so much! I've been following you Elena and Riley when you two began! What an amazing adventure you two now can share with your two sweet boys
So I was in a pretty successful band in the 90’s. That chat with E on the bed really took me back. It’s crazy when you get everything you’ve ever dreamed of and then the reality of what that actually means hits. It’s amazing and terrifying all at the same time. ❤
Don't leave us hanging! What band, brother?
I'm guessing you are Brent Parlane. If I'm wrong, let me know . Cool to see you watching these great Aussies on their life journey. It's certainly rare to have these positive occasions where the reality of what is happening is overpowering.
@@brookek9076 lol, it was a band called Real McCoy. Kinda silly in retrospect, but people were into it.
I’m happy for you all 😞
@@FlyBrent Not silly at all. Very cool.
So cool to see you guys sailing again!! Really enjoy the problem solving you both do enroute, “love it”...storms, gear breakages, hard out sailing reefed up... more pleas. So looking forward to seeing new boat, Riley pushing the boat speed and Elayna telling him to slow down, I can relate to that!! Haha.
2:35 Riley has outdone himself in morning hair. I mean-its EPIC!😂😂
It was magical to hear the wind and see you all sailing again! ❤️
Looking forward to seeing how things are done on the tall ship. Hoping you'll be able to let the majority of the sailing be handled by someone else so you can get some rest. And hopefully Lennie will be able to find a quiet spot so he can get his work done without interruption.
Looking at your cheerful faces, I have such a reflection -
"Indeed so does the moon People only know one of us the cheerful side" (quote from the poem)
- because that's how you want to share with us. Thank You for all!
Cape Hatteras:- Around 1979 I was sailing as Bos'n on a tanker 'Gulf Solar' from Portsmouth N.H. to Puerto Rico and we went around the cape empty. The seas were in excess of 30 feet. Every time we crested a wave and it passed under us the entire ship would shudder and flex from stem to stern. I would watch from the bridge wing wondering if we would snap in half. I'll never forget the exhilaration of being on the wing like that with the spray covering us, It was too exciting to be scared. We picked up our cargo and went through the Panama Canal to California from there. It was a great trip. Biggest seas I've ever been in. I can't imagine doing it on a sailboat. I'm a big fan of your channel and look forward to the coming adventures.
I’m finally caught up to real time! Took me the whole summer but I’ve officially seen every single video from the beginning. It’s so amazing what you have created and all you’ve achieved so far. As a nanny I’m super impressed how you handle two energetic boys in such a small space, as you would say, good on ya! 🎉
Pleasee connect with Cecilia Blomdahl for your Svalbard trip. She and her husband have a boat and could teach you both so much about the area
I’ve been watching you guys since pretty much the beginning and this video I think is your best yet. Can’t wait for what’s to come. The closest I’ve been to sailing was a short sail on the Armistad. A reproduction of the slave ship built at the Mystic CT boatyard, from logs, from Sierra Leone. I helped do some basic maintenance as a volunteer from a wood turning club I belonged to. You guys are living the dream. Beautiful family! Stay safe!
Cause this was REAL, RAW, this is what got us into SLV the first place!!
Watching you two and the various lovely people you bring with you on your adventures has been fascinating. Recently I've been noticing something that I can't quite put a finger on, but there is this sense of calm confidence, happiness, and groundedness that wasn't there when your videos started. You also have done a great job of creating a feeling of joining you, as if we had suddenly appeared along side you and were having a friendly chat, like another crew member. Nice 😊
Well said. I’ve noticed the same sense of warmth and connection, especially from Riley lately. He seems more centered and less concerned about proving anything to the audience.
I don't think a lot of us realize all the work (WORK) behind each episode and just getting through each day. Cheers! And how precious! I think that's the first time I've heard Darwin talk. It's cool to see the boys interacting more.
Been watching you guys for almost 5 years. Keep up the great videos!
I love how you guys include your crew, by asking how they're feeling. You're including a different perspective and you make them (and us) feel included in your journey. Props to Ellie (and other crew) to going on this adventure and to Elayna and Riley for bringing "outsiders" along on this journey
Would be amazing to see sailing you sail around Alaska! Whale season is almost over…Love following your journey through CZcams. Have so much fun in Svalbard! ❤
Proud vet of the US Navy, no sleeping on watch Riley. Loved Ellie's comment and can identify with being at sea and feeling free.
Sailing from Seattle through the San Juan Islands to Victoria, BC would be a fun and beautiful trip. Hopefully you’d see plenty of Orcas along the way. Even if you don’t sail you could still take the ferry through the San Juan Islands and spend 2-3 nights on each island. Another fun trip perfect for fall would be Bar Harbor, Maine and Portland Maine, with a side trip inland and to Vermont if possible. The foliage colors during the fall months in Maine and Vermont are spectacular.
Wow, this is the first video where I can actually see that La Vaga is looking a little beat up. She looks really dull and the scratches and scraps everywhere just show how much fun you all have had. Glad she's going in for an overhaul soon. She's been an excellent boat
i've been watching you two for a few years now and i am so happy you are willing to share your journey with us. Thank you for all the memories and videos you are making and good luck on your journey going forward. Please don't listen to all the haters out there, haters are going to be Hating 🙂.
Loving watching Lenny grow into such a lovely little boy. Truly.
Good call, clearing out of Chucktown, with the Tropical Storm Ian about to go straight over the marina tomorrow (30th). Particularly liked the honesty and emotion in this one.
If I were y’all… I would go to the Hawaiian islands and sail there and/or checkout the various Polynesian ways of navigating the ocean. Of course I’m super partial to the Hawaiian islands because of family ties but it would be a lovely tropical adventure. Or really any of the Polynesian isles 🙃💕 ❤
I’d love to have them come to Maui!
Now this would get my vote, Any Polynesian country. Where it all began!!!!
Just moved to Panama 🇵🇦 and seeing ya'll pull out of Charleston harbor makes me home sick. I lived right there in Mt. Pleasant by Shem Creek and have had lots of good times 🍻🍻 at the Hotel!!! Happy sailing ⛵️ 💓
Gosh with all that is going on in the world, it is always incredibly inspiring and uplifting to spot a new LaVaga video :) Love you guys! Keep being amazing humans!
Thanks so much, we’re very happy to have you here 😌💐
I'm currently here in Florida, projected to take a direct hit from Hurricane Ian, scared of course, and I wish I was out there with you guys. I have my 2 kids in the house and my 2 adult children as well and we are all wishing we were anywhere but here now.
You need to head to south east fla, now!!
Praying for Florida 🙏. If you're in a evacuation zone please evacuate.
Prayers 🙏🏻
Stay safe Clif, thinking of you all!! ❤
same, the eye is going to be 90 miles away from me
You guys always have the best crews!! Sending massive love to all of you may the winds be behind you and in your favor. Stay safe. I believe Ian is fast approaching. This one was a great one. Although I say that on all of them I think. I really loved this one. Awesome to see all four of you and the babies. Love from California💜🤟🏻😎🇺🇸
I loved this episode! From Elaynas emotional rollercoaster (can relate) to Lennys accent, so cute!!! To the feeling of being on the water, its the best. Im moving to a small coastal town in Norway and can not waiiit to spend more time on the sea
Great to see you all enjoying the ride! Your crew are exceptional too, such care and love aboard the boat. Sail safely, for there is a brute of a hurricane heading towards florida.Give a big hug to your beautiful babies from London.
Looking for some water related activities while waiting for the new boat build why not join Strick and Fran on a castaway island or boat adventure. You guys seemed to get along really well so I'm sure it would be lots of fun.
Lenny is definitely the Captain! Safe travels, family. Love you guys.
Safe travels and may the wind be in your favor 💞
Lenny and Darwin are so cute! And so sweet. I have 2 little boys, 4 and 5, so I know what it's like to have 2 boys. You guys are amazing parents. Your children are so lucky to have you. Your giving them the world!
Awesome episode as always! Even though I get the early access thru Patreon, I always come to CZcams as well to leave some love ❤keep up the amazing work guys. Cheers!
Thank you so much for sharing your life again, sailing! Wonderful episode! Just love Lennie saying "I am working, be quiet..."!!! I am so much looking forward to your trip to Svalbard! Make sure you sail to at least one of the big glaciers there! There is also a spot where the big walrusses are living, try ro sail there, to see them! And why not go wishing for cod and other fish? Freshly cooked or fried cod...there is nothing better, yam!! And perhaps visit Cecilia Blomdahl and her partner Christoffer in their beuatiful cottage/house by the seashore, just outside of the town Longyearbyen in Svalbard! She is a youtuber and has lived there for many years, check her chanel! She has certainly a lot of great suggestions for you, as to what to do in Svalbard. Good luck and see you soon again! Love, Tiina
I have been following your journey for a few years now. I have loved viewing your episodes with my youngest boy. I have always appreciated the fact that you guys kept the language family-friendly. This episode, not so much. I'm not a patron, so I have no right to complain. Just wanted to encourage you, to continue being different than all the other content out there. SLV has always been the gold standard, if you ask me.
I thought the same about the language as it's usually taken out, maybe this was a oversite in editing . ??
Great video work, not just the filming, I mean the editing, the additional music, the graphics, the scene cuts, and all that work. Thank you to all of you.
Great video, it is so wonderful to see the beautiful people you have in your circle. It must be such comfort to have people you and the kids trust and bond with. It must take an immense trust and respect.
The most honest and normal girl you are.
More impressive is you are showing that to the world.
That’s why your channel is loved so much.
with riley sitting- "rocking from side to side"~17:36 I felt great to be sitting on my couch! Definitely not a sailing candidate.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with this land lubber!
Love, love, love watching you guys sail!!! Must confess I'm terrified of the ocean, although I've been on a couple of BIG cruise ships around the Caribbean. Even crossed the Panama Canel on one. But if I were ever granted the opportunity to sail with someone, it would only be with you guys!!!!!!!! I'm that 69 years young grandma from Puerto Rico...
At 69? Jajaja!!!
Wishing you guys calms seas and the winds at your back! Great hair in the beginning Riley. 😂
Love y’all! Keep up the amazing work you do! ❤
For the Svalbard thing: Maybe you can do a collab with Cecilia Blomdahl, a CZcams/Blogger from the city on Svalbard. She has done some boat tours there as well and could show you some cool places to go to.
Less than 3 minutes into this video you guys cracked me up, so I paused the video to tell ya. Thank you,you got me through covid lockdown. Been watching you guys grow your family and now your businesses. Turned off the tv 3 years ago, okay back to your video I may comment later 😁
Cheers for the banger content recently Riley and Elayna! This whole adventure of what's happening with the boats has been an absolute joy to watch :)
HIT MAKING MACHINE
Definitely looking forward to the arctic trip. Also, man do you 2 have an uncanny knack for finding the best crew... here's to Alex & Ellie. uM
I loved Riley's "thank you" at the very end. Usually, he's a bit wry and keeps his "feelings" to himself, but this was truly sincere... Thanks Mate!
I loved Riley's "thank you" at the very end.
You know you're used to beeing at sea when dolphines just pass by and you don't even notice Love you guys! Thanks for a great episode
Lenny, keep a sharp eye out for Blackbeard the Pirate when you sail past Ocracoke Island. That was one of his favorite haunts back in the day. However, I'm quite sure that La Vagabonde could outrun the Queen Anne's Revenge if need be.
It's just hard leaving places and people. You get attached, and breaking the ties hurts. It does help to have something great to look forward to. Instructive as always.
Love how 2 Dolfins 🐬swam right past next to your boat ⛵️🐬 at 9min 50sec and you were both oblivious🤣.
In the Southern Ocean, I was in the "Roaring 40s" near the Screaming 50s on a research ship. We had 3 storms with 17m waves.. that was a tough 4 weeks a sea. Bad seas in a small sailing boat don't bear thinking about. We did shifts eg 12 hrs days in sed lab/core deck, 2 hr parasound shifts eg 0200-0400 and getting up every 2 hrs to change over samples in XRD machine..exhausted after 4 weeks.. I get the coffee headache comment.
Great vlog. Lenny "working" was so sweet 😊.
I was a dock hand at that marina in the summer through high school. Still live here, nice following yall for years.
Stay positive you are doing the best thing possible both of you.
Riley is looking particularly at peace and content in this. Thanks for sharing your journey of life with us!
Thank you Elayna for showing the other side occasionally. You are such a great role model and support for people watching your channel. Although I would love your life to be continual joy, it’s realistic to see the other side.
I truly enjoy your passage videos like this. For your arctic water shenanigans, you guys need to go for a swim. Crossing the arctic circle for the first time should always be celebrated with a rite of passage ceremony!
If possible, I would love to see you sail the islands along the coast in the Pacific Northwest from Seattle to Alaska along British Columbia. During the summer of course.
I second this! We are headed into the off season now, but I live in the PNW and this is such a beautiful area to explore during the summer and early fall.
Brilliant. You are epic film makers, fierce adventures, and the lovingest family! ...These episodes leave me inspired and emotional (in a good way.) ... still smiling!
It's obviously good that you got some down time on land! Your faces show it....more relaxed & happy, ready to get back at it after a break! Fair winds & smooth sailing! 🌞
Love the banter about the stress. Making light of something so difficult is actually good medicine.
My wife has a TON going on right now. Massive stress. I take every opportunity I can to just hug her when it's getting to her and if I can act like an idiot and get some legit laughs out of her it's the best.
Sometimes if you aren't laughing you are crying.
Head through the Scottish West coast islands. Even in late season, it is a fab place to sail.
Safe travels, good your going north. Get up there and find a safe harbor to get those repairs done. Glad you enjoyed your Charleston time. The weather has been great. Cheers.
Amazing!!! A tall ship! Oh my golly as someone who is landlocked and probably will never live by or on the ocean.. if I EVER get to do a tall ship adventure! I’ll loose my ever loving mind! So excited for you guys and I CAN NOT WAIT to watch your adventure!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ eeeeeeeeeeeeeee so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love how you're teaching Darwin to speak...Lenny caught on quickly....they may be bilingual! God bless, protect and keep your seafaring family...
"...and then you start having a go at me for no reason". HAHAHA!
I honestly don’t know how you guys cope with everything, especially with two small people on board?!! You are truly inspiring! x
I would say the trip of a lifetime on a small cruiser would be Seattle Sailing north through the San Juan Islands up the coast of Canada and the inside passage to Alaska and a week or two in prince William Sound Islands. It will give you a tiny taste of the very wild Alaska coastline which is far more than all the other states of the US combined. It's easily a 3 month trip just enjoying the trip from Seattle to Seward Alaska.
Love following you guys, so natural, so real, so exciting, and so much fun. Groovy editing on this one, and steller background music. Looking forward to seeing you on a tall ship.
I just wanted to say thank you, you guys just being you is so amazing for this world just like Lenny said and i feel a little less lonely binging your movies lol
Thank you for the awesome educational stuff about Hatteras. I'm from North Carolina and always knew about our coastline and Hatteras but didn't fully realize how gnarly it is!
I run a small business. At least once per project, I get stressed and overwhelmed and start to question whether I (we) can pull it off. Somehow, we always get through it and have happy customers. I believe that’s normal. If running a business was easy, everyone would do it! So don’t feel bad! What I’m dealing with at the moment, is I got home late last night, after 2 months worth of jobs on the road, just in time to prepare for Hurricane Ian which is barreling straight for my house
I loved the dolphins swimming past at 9:50 it’s so cool
Coming home tired after a days work in education and feeling so glad to see a Vagabond video up!❤🎉
Me tooooooo😅 first grade teacher here ❤
Artic circle - Are your kidding me😱 You have to come to Iceland 🎉🎉🎉 With best regards from Reykjavik🇮🇸
Sail on an old Dutch boat and visit the Netherlands. You can sail on the nord sea and visit the Wadden Islands. And because we are below sea level you can pretty much see all of the Netherlands via a boat. Amsterdam, Utrecht, the IJsselmeer. It's gorgeous but perhaps nicer in summer. Now fall is coming. But ... It's still beautiful
Come visit the Netherlands 🤗
Love, Daniëlle 🇱🇺🙋😘
