It’s Overpriced… LEGO Star Wars 75385 AHSOKA TANO'S DUEL ON PERIDEA Review! (2024)

- I had high hopes for the return of Thrawn in Ahsoka and while the show delivered, the LEGO Star Wars Summer 2024 Duel on Peridea has fallen short in a few places. Notably for $55 you get a ridiculous sticker sheet that doesn't color match the bricks... LEGO Star Wars also left out Captain Enoch from this set alongside some questionable Minifig design choices on Thrawn and Ezra. Overpriced buuuuut you probably want a LEGO Thrawn if you didn't have one.

Maybe we’ll get the review of the 2025 arc 170 tomorrow
😂
Most likely…
I bet tomorrow will be the review of the May the Fourth promo set from 2025
Nah tomorrow’s the review of the first 30th anniversary set 😂
@@jbh8791 what's so funny
The scratches on ezras face are from the grand inquisitor attacking him in rebels such an amazing detail
Yeah like I would be absolutely dumbfounded had they not included them on his minifig lol I think that part of this reviews shows us that Ryan hasn’t seen Rebels
I wish they were larger on ezra in ahsokha. I don't like that they're so small
I can't wait to build an army of Captain Enoch in the night trooper battlepack. Just like my army of Captain Vaughn.
You know at this point that really wouldn't surprise me.
I could easily see them doing this. Still, Ashoka season 2 is coming. Enoch will be in it. He might even be in the Mandalorian movie if Thrawn is heavily featured.
@@shaunw9092the mando movie will show the end of thrawn, or maybe they save that for another movie, heir to the empire
@@johntorrison9336 Yeah, surely Lego will make a ton of sets for the Mando film and a couple for Ashoka S2. There's going to be chances to get Enoch.
I feel like this is lego testing how much lego star wars fans are willing to spend on 1 figure
People shouldn’t buy this, because if send Lego the wrong message, I swear people have no self control, they will criticise a set, because of the use of mini-figures to get people to buy overpriced sets, then still buy it.
Yes the damaged stormtrooper
Wait what? This set is pretty ok and overpriced but all the mini figures are really good. Still not getting this set
@@user-mp8qg5tb5e that's why I started buying knockoffs. They're a dollar a fig and if you research them they usually look quite good.
@@user-mp8qg5tb5ethat’s the Life Bricks motto, and it’s pretty scummy. Poo all over the set, tell his following to not buy it, avoid it at all costs… and then he proceeds to buy 30 to sell to you at an even higher price while claiming it’s “just for his bricklink store”
The lack of pupils is the dumbest design choice ever and makes the characters look undisputably worse. I haven't heard anyone say they like that design. It's makes characters look completely GOOGELY-EYED and I've hated it since the Hera microfighter from like 6 years ago. Completely stupid.
Minifigures don't have pupils though, It doesn't look good but nothing was changed from the original eyes besides the color
Thank you! So many people get this wrong.
I like that design
In general, I like the design. I think it looks cool on Maul and Palpatine. But on Ezra... no. Ezra should get normal eyes.
Bro lack of pupils is the best decision ever, makes figures look good together. With the pupils it reminds me of the Avatar sets where the avatar figures dont match the lego style. People who like the pupils are honestly so delusional and stupid
It is basically a base plate with some figures
That’s exactly what the kenobi vs Vader set was except this one has better figs
@@COOL_GUY_Studios_OFFICIAL yeah It was an ass set as well
@@COOL_GUY_Studios_OFFICIALo actually have that set. I. Got it just for Vader 😂

@@Qoobon_how do u know
Dare you to make the new ISD into Thrawn’s Chimera and then use the Ezra jump feature to jump into the ship.
The scratches on Ezra's face are actually lightsaber scars when the Grand Inquisitor threw his lightsaber at a much younger Ezra, he deflected it with Kanan's lightsaber, but unfortunately got those two cuts on his face and luckily fell onto a walkway below
Lego has in fact put studs on the bottom of hilts before. The light up figures from 2005.
This minifigure pack has the best side build out of any set. Ever.
For real
It always makes me smile when Ryan gets a review out before most Lan members😇
Maybe if he wasn’t a whiny baby Lego would respect him enough to send him sets
Tiny petty piece of work you are.@@GabrielGardner-wx2ph
@@GabrielGardner-wx2phasking for better quality isn’t whining
Most LAN members already reviewed this set
@@GabrielGardner-wx2phbut he had issues with Lego and left. Also he’s still making the review before lan
This set feels like they worked backwards from the concept of "how do we get away with charging 50 bucks for a Thrawn figure"
Ahsoka really went from Ahsoka the dark grey to Ahsoka the light grey.
“What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality for those who may oppose us.” - Grand Admiral Thrawn
Code cylinder feels like a deliberate choice. Old Thrawn's cylinders are more accurate but new Thrawn's are more detailed. I guess it is a matter of preference, but I do personally prefer the single cylinders for that added detail and such a minor inaccuracy really doesn't bother me.
To have them that detailed and smaller would be near impossible to print on a production scale. I think people need to realise the going purely for realism does not always give the best results.
@@InsightfulUndercurrentsExactly. It’s a Lego figure and is stylised as such. Complaints about minor things like this reminds me of the silly complaints about Captain Rex’s ammo pouch being too big. If people want realism then buy a Black Series figure.
I can’t wait to see Ryan review the new play scale Star destroyer
Lego genuinely needs to re asses their prices. It’s impossible for the average Joe to strive for completion when it comes to collecting LSW. It’s getting more and more ridiculous every wave at this point.
lego has made it abundantly clear for years now that they dont care about the average consumer, they are happy with being a premium product
No average Joe was ever meant to have completion.
@@karanphokela5743 I used to be able to complete sublines though, I’d leave the brickheadz and midi scale sets for example and was then able to justify picking up all play sets and ucs sets. But with the drastic and irrational price increases it’s genuinely close to impossible to not only justify spending, but to simply even afford it. Sucks
@@bennett4789 I don’t disagree that legos on the more premium side of toys, especially when it comes to construction toys, but literally every child (both rich and poor) has owned lego at some point.
I don’t think they cater to any specific market.
They’re just a greedy company that charges extortionate prices on licensed themes just because they can, usually it was alongside inflation in years past, but the last *few* years’ prices have been utterly ridiculous
@@JangoSkett thats what im telling you is they have decided to cater to a market, specifically a rich one. the price hikes over the last few years are completely ridiculous for the average consumer. but lego is doing fine as a company, because they are pushing the 18+ and icons lines which are catered to wealthy adults with lots of free time. they can charge more for less because the demographic they are selling to has more disposable income. the fact youve been able to collect at all as an average consumer is honestly impressive
the brick separator trick actually works surprisingly well tbh. not a perfect solve, but it does help with some.
Imagine if the Star Destroyer from this summer was Thrawn's ship...
It would've comboed so well
The reason the previous Thrawn has the wrong badge is because Lego and others were given concept art where that was the correct badge. One of the ideas they had was Thrawn being promoted to Grand Admiral over the course of the events of the show. That idea was scrapped, but Hasbro and Lego had already started production with the outdated information.
It's funny they didn't bother to change it for the video game that came out in 2022 tho lmaoooo
@@MandRproductions I KNOW!! That bothered me so much lmao.
When I heard Enoch would be part of a set, I definitely pressed X for "doubt"
If we couldn’t get Enoch, I wish we got a “night death trooper” instead of a normal night trooper
I get the feeling that Enoch, a death trooper and two of the normal ones will wind up in a 2025 battle pack.
@@bricksdarklighter5597 My thoughts exactly. For the price of 35 dollars...
I kind of expected a night trooper battle pack and put an Enoch in it. seems like a Lego thing to put a named character in a battle pack
Upon reveal, my friend guessed this set would cost $60 and a kidney.
I like the older thrawn a head and hair more because in some of the behind the scenes rebels videos they talk about how they tried to make thrawn look more alien with the facial bone structure and blue hair and we don’t really see that on the new one, he just looks like a blue dude
Ezra will forever be my fav
As always great reviews. Can’t wait for the rest of the drop.
"I'm not mad, just disappointed." Good, but could have been better is an honest answer.😊
Ok tomorrow will for sure be the Sarlacc Pit.... right?
Ryan, use a brick separator to apply the stickers
Wonder how it would look without the grey ground stickers 🤔
I feel like we're going to get a Night Troopers battle pack with 3 basic ones and Captain Enoch. Sort of Captain Vaughn and the 332nd style one
2:42 never thought I’d miss the “mustache” stormtroopers while maybe not the best, the “rebels” stormtrooper helm just looks off to me.
Could Captain Enoch come in a future battlepack with 3 more zombie night troopers? Lego has done unique helmet moulds and named characters in battlepacks before
Dang this thrawn minifig pack ft. Giant rocks is WAY OVERPRICED…
I’m getting it day 1, I need that thrawn set as a fine addition to my collection.
Why can’t u just have a little bit of self control and self respect, and just don’t buy it, when you buy it Lego will carry on adding exclusive minifigures to shitty sets so people will buy them
Ryan gonna have the 2025 sets in about a week at this rate 😂
Possibly even more nefariously, you're only going to buy one Captain Enoch, but people will probably army build zombie troopers... and who happens to own Bricklink?
M&R just leveled up again! You are on fire
Excellent minifigures, terrible build for such price
I loved that you used the actual set to display the minifigures as you talked about each one.
I really like the tropper in this set the extra detail is really nice.
Glad the Ezra minifigure looks a bit better in person than on the box, still not the perfect skin tone looking at pictures from the show. But much more accurate than on the promo pictures/packaging, defiantly considering to pick this set up now because of how good all the figures look imo.
I’m willing to bet Ezra’s eyes a to make fun of how uncanny bright blue his eyes were in the show 😅
Great job as always Ryan! Just so you know though, "gypped" is actually a super derogatory term which denegates the Romani people.
Another great review Ryan! 9 out of 10.
Your commentary on minifig quality and selection is on point, as usual. The lack of prints, in favor of stickers is always an important "sticking point" to bring up, so thanks for that (and for the tip about placement/alignment). No mention whatsoever of helmet holes in this review, which obviously makes sense, but is nice to not have to hear about for the nth time.
The only downside was the use of the word "gypped", which is doubly offensive to the Roma people, as it both misnames them and adds additional derogatory insult to that injury. It's understandable that you might not know, as it's hard to keep up with "what not to say", but this is one of those things.
Overall, I loved this, and your other recent (early access) reviews, and would recommend it to most LEGO fans, but I also think it might be good to wait for a sale on this review, as the price is a bit steep.
(I'd like to thank @MandRproductions for sending this video for review.)
You just know people are gonna sell custom print packs for those 12 grey plates with yellow lines actually printed on them.
Why couldn't you just print it Lego, its one print 8 times, and one 4 times, its not like we're expecting 12 different prints. Also if this is envisioned as a play set for kids, then the floor stickers would get damaged through play, and the set should have prints there by Lego's own standards
Mandr is back to daily uploads, it's a good day to be alive.
“378 pieces” while zoomed in on the box where it says 382
“ I'll try spinning , that's a good trick ! ” - Young Anakin Skywalker
You should buy two and combine them to make a full circle kind of like what you did with the Tantive Hallway
Can’t wait to pickup thrawn next year in his own micro fighter
Yay another review out
Your content has become so sharp. You never cease to strive for excellence Ryan. You deserve every bit of success you have attained.
Should have came with Sabine too. She was prominent in that battle.
Would you recommend just not doing the dark gray stickers at all??
4:55 ok I’ve never watched the show and I don’t know who this Ezra guy is. But you hit the nail on the head with the eyes. Before you told me he wasn’t blind I 100% thought he was blind. And you’re right I didn’t notice it at all with the other figures. But that design of eye doesn’t suit humans at all. For more alien/cartoon looking characters it’s fine but I thought this guy was a blind Kanan too.
please watch the show :(
I understand the complaint, however lego mini figures (aside from sith and the clone wars characters) never had pupils, it’s just a black eye with a white highlight. and also the colour eye has been on many figures for quite awhile now to show noticeable eye colour in live action media. Such as Bariss, Lloyd from ninjago, the Jedi from the tall circle droid from 2013, and many others. I feel the blue eyes are accurate on the lego guy as they were just a noticeable (off putting) as they were in the show. If anything don’t critique the lego, critique the poor use of bright contacts in new Star Wars media.
If they are going to use stickers on any set it should simply be clear stickers. So for this set simply put a yellow stripe on a clear sticker. That way don't have to worry about the color tiles not matching. Not sure why it's so difficult. I literally took an Xacto knife and cut out the stickers for the UCS Razorcrest because I couldn't stand for the greys to be so far off. Was a pain but turned out looking much nicer.
Bro came into work early! feeling blessed
I was shocked when I saw Thrawn available in a set at this price point. I still think it’s overpriced, but I was fully expecting Lego to make him exclusive to a $300 Chimaera set, and given Filoni is probably going to use the ship in his projects, that’s probably still going to be the case down the road. Think they’ll eventually release that and make Enoch exclusive to it or have them release a battle pack with more Nighttroopers plus Enoch?
My boy over here getting all the summer releases early! Good on ya! Love the content and the brutal honesty
Going to get it for all the figs even though it's high priced.
You need to chillax! The stickers don’t look that bad, you could tell me I haven’t seen these stickers, but I have built a tone of other sets with dark bluish gray stickers! I really like the blue eyes on Ezra! I think it’s a nice inclusion! Please don’t get carried away with saying every single set needs to be good to display. They’re kids toys that people, you and me included, love to display! Let Lego do what Lego does best.
Make an overpriced set then include thrawn so people will still buy it. At this point I don’t even blame Lego, people you complain then by this set and have so little self control they deserve Lego taking their money
Kids think stickers are annoying too lol
@@StarNameKev but it makes it more interactive.
you should put thrawn in the emperor’s throne room diorama on the throne for display,
Hoping next year we’ll get a Night Trooper Battle Pack and Grand Admiral Thrawn’s Star Destroyer the Chimaera
I mean, immediately picking up this set. This is amazing. It's got some of the best many figures i've ever seen
I hope they make a night trooper battle pack with at least one night death trooper
Can’t wait to see the vlog to see how u got this set early
Grey plate with black things sticking out and a few mini figs
"I have never seen lego put a stud on the bottom of the hilt" *every light-up figure ever has entered the chat*
The old Thrawn looks like he's glowing, I think that's the best way to put it.
Don't worry Ryan! We'll just campaign for 3 years and maybe the all mighty lego designers will grant us Enoch in a battlepack, finally giving us the figure we wanted, whilst ruining another set at the same time.
Would no Enoch than a botched/half assed one tbh.
There is part of me that hopes (copes) they'll bring out another Ahsoka set that will feature more Night Troopers with differing variations, which *might* have Enoch in it? even if it's just a battlepack+ of sorts.
MandR is on the roll
Still exited for a Night Trooper in Lego
At least trooper has a zombie head. They honestly should have just included the plaque and sold it as a display set.
If you have choose between this set and the sarlacc pit set, which one would you choose?
(I’m looking to make a decision with limited money)
Skiff, in my opinion.
Better set, better figs, also includes a 25th anniversary minifigure.
Yesterday, I picked this one up from the Lego store because I think (and hope) that Admiral Thrawn will be the same worth as the old design.
The grey stickers look like little roads, I can’t get over that!
Let’s face it we’ll buy this for the Minifigs (aka THRAWN!! 🤤) It
looks great with them all displayed.
Me when i saw thrawn: I dont need it, i dont need it........
I really like how displayable the set looks, almost like a diorama without the black base. But still I'll only buy it for Thrawn
They really nailed the figures, but the actual build itself is lack-luster in my opinion, they might as well have done just a battlepack type set for the figures at a lower price.
Dosent make sense imo especially because it's 5 cool and unique figs but a night trooper and Enoch battle pack would be cool
@@spectralbricks Or maybe just 3 night troopers and 1 night death trooper.
@@spectralbricksI think the characters are too niche, maybe a minifig pack or poly bag, tho they did a battle pack for imperial death troopers so I guess anything can happen
I actually like the set as a small diorama. The oblisks are well captured and over all represents the scene really well.
Grand Admiral Thrawn mini fig looks so much better now than that Rebels TV Show Phantom set one. The dual moulded legs and the correct insignia really help it to be so. I think the reason for the incorrect code cylinders on him is because it might be too scrunched up. I still respect the set/mini fig designers for that choice. Would have been cool to have the correct code cylinders though.
I think it's a spacing issue mainly with thrawn's pens, they tried to move the plaque more to the right, where it should be, while it still pretty big, leaving no space for the pen near the plaque and for the symmetry the made the same on the left side too
I can’t wait to pick up this set
Enoch possibly to show up in a battle pack? Hopefully Lego will produce one - with Enoch, maybe even a night-death trooper (or whatever they are called) imagine if they went all-out and had one of the night troopers with a partially broken helmet exposing part of the zombie face underneath…. would be a great little set!
i do like how they included the almost chain mail like armor ezra had made out of dog tags of the night troopers
The kid in me would take a whiteout pen and add pupils! 😂😂💖
A massive baseplate with amazing minifigures
Man im impressed you really amazingly aligned the sticker 😂...shame that TLG didnt made it as printed bricks instead..esp at that price tag
55 is an insane price for what you get.
I can't wait for the 2027 clone battle pack review next week👍
I wish they made a battle pack of the zombie stormtroopers. Also I like Esra for one reason his outfit looks great for a medieval peasant
Chad Kenobi rock slab (no stickers) vs virgin Ahsoka boring stickered plate
I don’t understand the gripes with Ezra’s eyes… it follows the same design as Ahsoka and Thrawn (color with white dot). I will say it does stand out more on him but they are keeping it standard.
They both look stupid, they look possessed
Thrawn works because it’s a light colour on dark
How to transport from the main galaxy to the “impossible to travel to” outer regions, seven hyperdrives and night sister magic…no one ever tried it apparently.
