Why mylar balloons pose an environmental hazard

Everyone loves a good party or celebration! But, before you release the balloons into the air, you should think to yourself, where does it land? Well, that presents an environmental hazard for the eastern portion of San Diego County.

I used to work for U.S. Forest Service Descanso Station in 1987.
Balloon landed at the station. It got a note saying came from school in Point Loma.. They do travel and trash the wilderness

Foil balloons are awesome you can literally sit on them and they won't pop
