- All Blacks vs Springboks 1992. Played at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg on the 15th August 1992. This game was known as the Return Test as it was South Africa's first test match since the International Rugby Board (IRB) had banned them due to apartheid.
They actually showed non-wallaby games live on free to air in Australia? Wow, how far the game has dwindled over there.
The game was amateur back then so it was pretty easy to have the game on free to air television. Even in South Africa it used to be on free to air until 1996 when professionalism emerged.
@@theultimatesharpshooter6734 And it ruined the sport. The smart thing was to have allowed semi-professionalism, meaning top players could be sponsored by advertisers, but not paid to play directly. Most would have had to keep their day jobs, but the top players would have been working as advertising promoters.

A place for all vintage and classic rugby games and video content. A time when scrums were often deemed to be a "Den of Iniquity" and you could staircase, ruck and knock your opposite number into next year!
And therefor plenty of room for the backs, because the forwards were having it out in rucks and mauls.
First test in ages and only a 3 point margin? That's very impressive by the Springboks.
All Blacks at the end of a long tour of Australia and South Africa. Their players having to adapt to playing at altitude for the first time. They dominated the game and it was only in the last few minutes that the score closed up.
the boks were outplayed for most of the game, suspect the AB's took the foot off the gas in the last 10 & fatigue from altitute took its till, to their credit the boks scored 2 late tries to flatter the scoreline
NZ very lucky Naas and Danie Gerber were past their best in this game.Naas and Danie both 34 years old.
1988 England v Australia and 1990 Scotland v All Blacks both tests.
check 1.48.13 when Zinny got injured. Man that SA Hooker just came in and Kneed Zinny in the back on purpose. They were ruthless back then eh hehe
It was @54:50
James Smalls' international debut?
Yep
I was at Ellispark that day, I was 7. My dad took me. He past away a week ago. Precious memories.
Also, this ref didn't give South Africa anything in the first 60mins of the game. He was appalling 😅
If you knew anything about the game kaffa you would have realised the box were doing everything they could to stop the blacks by any foul means they could get away with of which there was plenty
1:34:51 When you have a geriatric reffing they are likely to miss these obvious infringements 🥴
Are There Black South Africans In The Stadium?
No There Only White South Africans In The Stadium
no there was no rioting ,burning or murders that day ,,,,,

Thought the five point try came into play in 1993.
The bias against SA is astounding, and this was a close game. Yup, an Aussie ref. handed the win to the mighty all blacks, and yeah, it was going to repeat itself many times in the future!
Handed them the win? You must be South African🙄 illegal lifting in the line outs. Collapsing mauls. Constant infringing through out the game. I'm surprised you didn't bring up Bryce Lawrence
shut up cry baby use still getting beaten to this day from mighty all blacks
@@lancedowns958 bad memory bud...recall 31-29 just the other day...
@@Teacher-lj6in awesome game we love playing south Africa when there on
Saffas just can't accept being beaten at Rugby
Great come back by the Boks. More possession and things would've been different
And that my bok friends is why you wouldn’t have won the 87 or 91 WCs - we beat you in Ellis park and the wallabies were better than us at that stage 😊
