Considering you and Rebecca have full time jobs, family obligations, live stock and a life IMHO your place looks great! 🤠 🙏🏼🇺🇸
The tydiest I have seen so far
Don't you just love the CZcams arm chair experts " why can't you maintain your property to our expectations " maybe having a full time job , having 40 acres , raising animals and crops with just Rebecca helping is why it doesn't look like a golf course in Beverly hills. Tell them to pound sand , your place looks great.
Agreed, people just need to keep their opinions to themselves
Evan and Rebecca are living their lives the way they want to. Nobody has any right to tell them different. May God bless their journey.
I have a right to call stupid - stupid.shut your yap .
That’s all well and good and I love watching them. But I thought maybe he could let us know. Why he was letting the air out. Maybe I’d learn something new because I never let the air out on a flat like that.
All them folks complaining about your upkeep - I guarantee, not a one of them owns any property bigger than an acre. Ignore them or ask them how THEY do it and hear the silence.
Don't cave in to viewers. Do things your way, if it doesn't work we learn. If it does we learn. Keep up the good work.
"Wall of shame"
We all need one- you wouldn’t want to see mine!!
Evan is a great man who admits to his mistakes. Just list them on the wall and laugh at them down the road.
Coffee is essential at any hour of the day😊
Hi.... Evan thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
The people who complain about the weeds on your property must not have property to keep up because it gets away from you fast lol almost over night. It looks great guys
Evan why are you waiting for the air to release just plug it
I came here to see if someone had an answer for that 😂 never seen someone intentionally let all the air out before plugging
Yeah I always find that a firm tire is easier to plug than a saggy one
Evan and Rebecca you guys do a superb job on your farm. Those who comment on your property upkeep couldn't do near the job you do especially considering you both work full-time outside of your farm.
Excellent tire repair. Don't blame yourself for missing the wire. There's so much junk tossed around by prior owners that it's amazing you haven't had more flats. Always reassemble EVERYTHING bought at Tractor Supply. They're a sloppy company. 👍👍👍
fimco sprayers are not assembled by tsc. they arrive in shipping boxes, and if not partly assembled from the factory, the buyer assembles
You have the neatest property, I have ever seen.
As a fellow farmer from KY it’s hard to get everything done. The keyboard warriors will never be happy. Make you and Rebecca happy.
My brother has a rental business industrial all size construction equipment he got fed up with flat tires and filled all with no flat balast no flats anymore Wonderful stuff !!!
those brown plugs are the best ones.
I just wanted to say thank you for at least checking out the vinegar suggestion I made. Wasn't thinking you would be doing so much. Glad things worked out for you. Still enjoy watching you live your dreams. 🚜🐔🦃🐄
They do make tractor tire liquid balancer with sealant already!
Evan the weed kill you used is great stuff I get it to at tractor supply works great
I really think the people who complain about the weeds at your place don't have any experience keeping up with acreage. For as many acres as you have, you do a great job of keeping it looking nice. I only have about one-fifth as much as you do, and it keeps me busy all summer.
Amen, couldnt have said it better!
Amen. I have 14 acres and 4 of it is part of the house. I work full time and have animals. Definitely don't have enough time to keep everything up keep like I want.
@@bgengler30 Exactly. Mine is 15/6, and I'm out there every day. Even the edges of the woods keep me hopping, with trees that get blown down or what have you.
A little trick for taking tires off and on. put a sheet of plywood under the tire and dribble a little used oil on it, makes it easy to slide the tire back and forth. Good luck, love your channel..
Your place sure looks great to me! And I appreciate how you put a lot of thought into making your videos. Thank you and God bless!😊
RM 43 is all we use and it out performs everything I have tried. Within a couple weeks our fence line is brown. Few weeks more and nothing is there but dirt.
Vinegar doesn’t kill the roots anyway. 🇨🇦❤️
Yeah, I found vinegar to be a waste of time and money.
I use 30% ag vinegar on a day 75 degrees. We always use goggles and good respirators.
Before I put my sprayer in service, I fill it partially with water and then turn it on to check for leaks before I add the weed killer or fertilizer to the tank. That way, if you have a leak, you can make the repairs without dealing with the ingredient. Just a suggestion.
Hopefully you will do a follow up video in a couple of weeks!
That killer works great! Does work for a year!
Evan. I added a 12v cigarette lighter socket just above the rear tail light on my TYM so I can just plug in any attachment that needs 12v power. I put a switch on the dash so I can turn power on to the attachment. I have numerous attachments that I built the need power so it work great.
A couple of years ago I had a valve stem rot out on a ballast filled tire on our 70hp tractor. I just touched the thing and gotsprayed. What a pain eh. I enjoy your videos, you look like a guy I'd like for a neighbour. Take care
They would be awesome neighbors 👍😃. I had a great neighbor for 39 years. Helped each other thru thick and thin. Died in a truck accident. To this day I keep expecting him to walk into the work shop smokin his BackWoods cigar. Now… if I could only persuade Evan and Rebecca to move to Tennessee. If I was them, I wouldn’t move. They are creating a lil piece of Heaven here on Earth. Yes Sir !!!
Nice sprayer too. Folks Evan is one person working a day job then working hard to take care of many acres and having to start from the worst conditions to make their place nice. He and Rebecca are making it happen and you are getting to watch. You might try it sometime and just see how hard and how much labor it takes! This is a great channel.
A friend worked for a town road department and they used weed killer by the 55 gallon drum. They applied at at half the recommended rate to save money. It took a little longer for the weeds to die, but they did die.
Good job on fixing the tire ! I LOVE YOU BOTH !!!! 🥰 🥰
I use that type of herbicide every year around my fence row etc here in Kentucky. It works great you will be happy with the results
Good idea hanging up u;r mistakes. You are giving someone a good ideal for a pattern.
That piece of wire in your tire is no mistake. As much fence as you guys have torn down and cleaned up it’s a wonder it hasn’t happened more. There are only so many hours in a day and so many days in a week. You two have done quite well. The place looks great. Thanks for the video’s
I got one of the Country View acres planting cards from Clyde's today.
Thanks for sharing, have a great week!
You could even get some liquid fertalizer to spray the hay feilds and pastures with with that sprayer...could be a really handy unit for that.
I have to tell you about one of my mistakes. I have a 15 gallon sprayer like yours but smaller. I hooked it up to my sprayer got about done when the output went way down and it would not spray very far. I thought the pump was clogged. So I took the pump off and was going to clean it. After removing a couple of screws I grabbed my air compressor to blow it out. Well long story short, tiny pump parts went everywhere. So I had to order a replacement pump. Got it in and was installing it when I noticed a tag on the hose at the bottom of the tank. The tag informed me there was a screen (filter) on the output hose before going to the pump. Oh yes, it was clogged. So I cleaned the screen and installed the new but unnecessary, at least till I tried to clean it, pump and all works great. So moral of this story, read all the hose tags before you start tearing things apart.
That’s a sweet lil spray rig Evan . Lot prettier than my 55 gallon drum homemade job !!! I have a question about it. Now I wasn’t there in person to see it better so I’m just gonna ask. As you were going down the driveway, it seemed like the spray pattern was leaving gaps. I kept hollering to you to lift the sprayer up but you didn’t hear me here in Tennessee. Lol If it was higher then the spray pattern would be wider making it total coverage. Whatcha think ? You could try it out on some dirt so you could see where it was wet. I couldn’t hardly tell on the gravel but I’m old and don’t have hawkeyes 👀 . Did I mention I was jealous of your new toy (tool).
You cannot hang that wire on a wall of shame if you ever make a wall of shame. You live on a farm things like that are gonna happen, a wall of shame is for when you get carried away, working too fast and tear something up or just not using your head paying attention. Have an awesome day. P.S. and you did fix the tire without calling for help, you are the Man!
We always left a good inch of the plug sticking out and use a lighter to burn the end. It seems to help create a seal.
Good job Evan. Glad you were able to fix the tractor tire and hope it holds okay for you folks. Like the way the sprayer work. The hose will be a pain till you get it coiled right and always wind it the same way. They can be a big pain. Don't let those comments bother you, some folks have nothing to do but find fault with everyone . You all are doing a great job around there. Fred.
I bought a bit for my drill that reams it out…that’s what the pros use. Total game changer. I get stuff in my tires all the time on our farm
professionals don't plug tires; they patch lol you fell for the package labeling.
@@user-fq8gt5gp3l you are correct, we used Plug-patch’s…that is what we used at the dealership and at NTB that I worked at. On farm vehicles a plug is perfectly fine
@@user-fq8gt5gp3lPatches are for tubed tires. Plugs work just fine for tubeless tires.
Evan, you do not have to let the air out of your tire to use the tire plugs. Having air in the tire helps the tire be firmer, which aids with installing the tire plug. I would recommend getting the Aluminum HANDLE PLUG SET. I witness your set handle breaking as the person was reaming a tire and the steel part of the tool buried into the person's hand about 2" and had to be removed at the ER !! Another bit of advice in to make sure you spray when there is no wind. (Normally early morning) These units put out a lot of drift because of the height of the units. It is better to spray in a no wind condition if possible.
I run Multi-Seal tire sealant in my tractor tires. Their hydro seal formula can be used in liquid ballast filled tires. Courtney on Good Works Tractors demo-ed it a couple years ago. I run it in all of my equipment tires.
Hey Evan, you called that a wall of shame for getting a fieldfencing stuck in your tire you sure you don’t wanna see mine . that right there what you did it’s called shit happens. There ain’t nothing you can do about it. I love your channel keep it up.
Just a tip to next time spraying... mount the sprayer in the frontloader... it is much easier to control...
That R 43 works great takes 2 to 3 weeks to tell it worked .
They make a fence row nozzle for that sprayer that widens then boom end tip spray
On our forklifts they do have fill foam on the inside of the tire. It hardens and don't ever have to worry about flats. However if you do that you have to replace the rim and tire when it doesn't have tread anymore.
As long as that stuff is safe around the live stock
I think Brock from Rockhill went to a show in OK recently within the past month where they had a self sealing tire ballast being developed.
Good job. Thanks
Might add soap to the spray. It will help break down the surface tension of the ground and allow for better absorption
RM43 is not generic and it works great. I use something they make in the yellow jug to kill sweetgum trees when needed.
You made the right decision. A few years ago, I sprayed my gravel driveway with a vinegar/salt solution and it did knock out the weeds - for a couple of weeks. They'd barely turned brown before new growth was coming in beside them. Waste of money.
That is a big problem with grass growing into the gravel. Unfortunately, sometimes chemicals is the best way to go. That is a good idea about self healing tires.
Good morning.
Thanks for the video, Evan! Man, I remember having to fix flat tires every time I ran the bush hog close to a fence. The sprayer looks like it works great. I can't wait to see if it gives you the results you want. The wall of shame, I'm not sure if it would be a great thing for me. I am pretty sure there would be no walls left around here that would not be full. Until next time, may God bless your days the way He always blesses ours! Donald
Nice work
Mate thanks for sharing your experience with us and all the best to you and your family and your friends and god bless your all
ITS ALL HINDSIGHT NOW, WE ALWAYS USED TIRE IRONS OR A LONG BAR TO LIFT THE TRACTOR OR HEAVY TRUCK TIRES
Liquid fertilizer as well as weed control . Good idea.
When doing plugs get some rubber cement and coat plug with it'll lubricate plug and make it easier to push in. Once in twist plug a couple full turns then pull out the tool. It'll ball up the inside of plug and help keep it from blowing out in future.
Thanks Evan
Probably best if people just asked why you can’t make 45 hours in your days. Do they even consider you have animals to care for, fields to tend, a whole heap of other chores and ongoing projects. Oh, and a full time job.
They may make a Neutralizing agent to put in your water to clean up the tank.So no residue remains
What a coincidence. Today I got out the zero turn to cut the lawn and stopped about 1/3 of the way through to grab a cup of coffee knowing I could beat the rain coming out of Illinois and into Indiana heading this way😏☕. Went to jump back on and noticed a drive tire was half flat. Sprayed the tire down with soapy water and sure enough found bubbles in the treaded section. Grabbed the ARB Speedy Seal plug kit out of the Jeep and stabbed a plug in there.....all good. The ARB kit comes with some paste lubricant for lubricating the reaming tool and can also be applied to the plug insertion tool to make it slightly easier. Some dish soap would work just as well in my opinion. I will agree, finding the right force to install the plug without over driving it into the tire is a challenge. Takes a lot of force to start then just unexpectedly drives in fast. Almost drove it in too far but for low speed tires it sure beats any other method of repair and way cheaper than a new tire. Sidewall and tread area repairs on low speed tires with plugs is a no brainer, and will likey last forever. And I would have no second thoughts in the tread section of a road tire on a vehicle. Plugs were used for decades before shops decided they could charge more to de-mount a tire from the rim and put an internal patch for a repair and there is no data to prove plugs are dangerous. Just comments by manufacturers saying it is "temporary" so you spend money to buy a new tire. Bunch of lawyer speak to make people scared. We once put 4 or 5 plugs to stop a leak in the same area on a damaged sidewall on a 32" ish tire on an offroad trail to get someone's Jeep off the trail. She drove it down the highway home with no issues. The trail put more loads on the tire than any paved road could ever have.
Great Video
I have that exact same sprayer. I have 2 tips. 1.If you raise your sprayer up away from the ground it will spray more uniformly. 2. I always run clean water through the wand and boom so the nozzles don't clog.
I have the same sprayer. I’m gonna have to send ya a message with some pics of a change you need to make. There is a flaw in the design and it can damage the tank. If you take preventative action now it’ll save you a lot of headache later.
Will be interesting to see how it works. Thanks for the video. All the best 🇬🇧.
I use the same RM43 and I have found I have to apply it early spring and again late summer.
I predicted the future. I was wondering if he turned the rim around! 😂
I always add dawn dish soap to my chemical & agitate to incorporate. Soap makes chemical bond to plant leaves, avoids evaporation. You have limestone on your driveway. This breaks down over time & boosts plant growth. Lime is used to sweeten soil for better yields of hay crop. I do add 1 gallon of vinegar along with soap. Also, for the city folks whom do not understand the vast number of weeds we deal with , please invite them to come to your land , at their convenience to work for free to rectify the situation. Make sure to mention, food, beverage , sunscreen, work gloves, toilet facility, etc., is on them.. Also, they should sign a release of liability to avoid adding any more names to your deed !
I need a new sprayer. Everything is starting to leak as the rubber drys out. I would recommend you adding water first so you can find all the leaks before you add the weed killer. It don't take long to mix it up.
You made the right choice of weed killer as vinegar is very corrosive on the metal parts as I found out
I need one of those for my tractor.
Good vlog Evan
My gawd your place is very clean and organized. Hate to see what people would say about mine lol
You can also use salt mix with water and it works really good. I use it on my driveway all the time in the summer.
Your herbicide is a combination of glyphosate and imazapyr. You dont need the glyphosate because the imazapyr will kill all the vegetation (including grasses you may want to keep). Imazapyr is a soil sterilant and will kill everything, but will last only about 6 months, not a year. Use it only on the gravel driveway. For the shoulders, use 0.5%-1% triclopyr. It kills all broadleafs and woody perennials, but spares the grass. Your grass will be lush green by the end of summer.
To many weeds? Oh no ! Evan do they know you are on a farm and not a PGA Augusta Golf Course,
Does it ever seem like, the more stuff you have, the more work you do? LOL! And gee. Don't you have enough to do without manicuring your golf course? LOL!! 🙂
Evan you work hard a full-time job your property is large and takes time keep up the good work.
There is a product called Multi Seal. I saw it on "Good Works Tractors" channel. I don't recall whether or it works with liquid ballast, though.
You could put a boot inside the tire. That would mean that you would not have to change it. But younwould still have to break down the tire.
RM43 works great. I sprayed our gravel drive once in spring and once at the end of summer last year. With generic round up it's pretty much every other month. We live in northern ok
A suggestion. Tractor Supply also sells a blue spray indicator that you can mix with the weed killer. Makes it real easy to see what has been sprayed and what has not. It fades completely away in a week or so.
My local tire shop has a pump to remove ballast fluid fix it then pump it back in...
Hay Evan busy seson just starting for you can't wait to see you bring steers and pigs to your farm thank you for sharing blessings to you and your family
Might be the camera angle but you might need to carry the sprayer a bit higher to ensure the nozzle spray patterns cover properly from one nozzle to the next. Otherwise a great bit of gear to make life easier
We have the same sprayer and it has been good other then the tank cracked where the bolts go into the bottom of the tank at. I would keep a close eye on them.
My suggestion for the 3 point sprayer is add small battery box and a pole with hooks or a small lawnmower rim to roll up the spray hose
The RM-series herbicides are darn good. Don't be all that surprised if it takes a while to act - I use RM-18 all the time, it's the non-persistent one they make. They claim it "works in 24hrs"... which it doesn't. It takes about a week to show its teeth. Then *everything* dies stone-dead. Incidentally, with a ground-clear, you probably DO want to spray it all, not just the edges, since that'll keep the grass from growing back up in the middle of the driveway later on.
A few blades of grass mixed in with the gravel drieway is on par to a well kept homestead. Especially after a good rainfall and the road holds up under road usage.
I enjoy watching y'all. Y'all place is awesome.
Ditch the hand reamer. Use a similar caliber drill bit. Makes it easier to insert plug, especially on steel radial tires. Also, wet the plug with a little goof off (xylene), it lubricates the plug but also liquifies the outer surface for better adhesion to the tire hole wall.
