One day we did a job, dead center of a street intersection. We had to dig down 21' to get to the manhole's invert because drop manholes are verboten in Allentown, PA. The hole was 45' across and every 12" lift had to be compacted. I had 6 laborers with shovels and 3 whackers, 2 plumbers, me on a Deere 220, The General's foremen and the city plumbing inspector. We were promised screenings at 8 AM and there we all stood, leaning on shovels, awaiting the damn trucks. I commented that we looked like a Penn-Dot crew and got laughs all around. Point being, when a worker is needed you need said worker now; working alone is dangerous.
i think he might be over-qualified because he also knows how to hold a camera, walk (without chewing gum though) and operate a walkie-talkie at the same time. That's multi-tasking abilities and that might be too much for the road department.
Looks really good. Nice to pick up other jobs as you go. Helps pay for the break downs. At the end every one is happy. Even the kids have a new play ground. That is priceless.
Just ordered a new CAT 306 . Can't wait to try it out. Some jobs are just full of obstacles or opportunities for success, depending on how you look at it. Great video! 👍🇺🇸
I don't care what job you have, but frustrations can take their toll. You handle yours great. We don't miss episodes of Dirt Perfect or Letsdig 18. Both of you are excellent role models and professionals with programs and situations that hold peoples interest. Congrats!
Good job on the video and operating equipment I have not forgot about you a. had some bad problem The last few days but I am now caught up on the videos of all good ones this comment 4 the other videos to my friend all good work On them I will be watching again my friend be safe
Persistence pays off and shows how to adapt to a challenge. No matter what is used it will break down. I go by the adage the "6 Ps", Pryor planning prevents post problem panics. Some things you can't. Great job.
In South Africa we have a saying, 'Don't insult the farmer with food in your mouth''. I would say to you,, 'don't belittle the Volvo when you are sitting in it because the Deer is dead.'
Hard to make money when you have all those breakdowns but you both did an excellent job on this project. Plus you will have another video of the 120 getting its legs back.
Been addicted to the channel for a few months and catching up with the older videos. Total respect for you and the guys, great work and even better attitude to work and life. Interesting about the volvo being under powered, I would have put money on it out preforming the 120. Random thought but wonder if you could find something of a known weight which is at the limit of your 140 then get Chris to see if his uncle's small volvo can lift it to compare 🤷♂️
Nice mike. Even with all the set backs. I know that some contractors would of done a half ass job but you go the extra mile to make things write and it shows in your work. Ray from Oregon
50 years ago I was the driver (in my country, the Netherlands, we called that a machinist ) of a hydrolic excavator , a Priestman Mustang. He had (like people) strong and weak points. I follow you on You tube and understand that you are not a fan of Volvo. There must be however things where he performes better than your favorite 120. I like watching your footage.
You are onto something there Mike... setting rip-rap is like stacking marbles on a slanted desktop while listening to fingernails on a chalkboard! I’ve had that day too... once the first machine breaks it seems to put the domino effect in motion. By the time it is done they’re all down. But, you made it through and the results are impressive! And, tell TMBS... the bird feeder looked great too!!!!
you guys make it look so easy. Im haing a thumb fitted to my tiny 3 tonne machine and I bet it will take me hours of practice to pick and place. Correction pick and place where it needs to be.
Nice job mike...you and Aaron are unstoppable Its hard to find a descent worker who compliments your ability and aptitudes. And will work just as hard and efficiently as you!!! I think yall work great together...
That progressive link thumb is really nice for setting those large, uneven rocks especially when you need to boom and curl in close without having to move the machine. Great job Mike !
That job turned out great, the placement of rocks and riff raff makes the property’s look great, TGFA Thank God For Aaron,That’s No Joke! You guys are awesome ! Kevin
We pay big money 4 rocks like that around here. That turned out amazing. Hope 120 ain't gonna be too bad 4 ya. My 289 been down 2x this week, I know feeling
I am thinking the hydro pressure on the Volvo is way lower than spec. The JD rated for around 5000 lbs at 20' and the Volvo rated over 7000 lbs at 20'. So, probably low pressure.
@@DirtPerfect I’m just catching up on some of your older videos Mike, all great as always my friend! I hope you and your family are safe, healthy and doing well brother, I’m always waiting for your next video Mike! Thanks 👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸
That is actually beautiful especially the shot from the air in the river looking at the bank.... An actually?? I would say it increased the value of the property dynamically!!! An was wise use of the resources it's always better to be able to use it than to have to haul it away!! Your quite the stone Mason ✅👍😜
Aaron could work for the road department, he got the shovel lean down!!!
Got that right
Lol

IN spite of the issues it is a lovely spot there bro. Never a river barge down here in NZ these days. Safe travels
In South Africa we have a saying, 'Don't insult the farmer with food in your mouth''. I would say to you,, 'don't belittle the Volvo when you are sitting in it because the Deer is dead.'
