Just to clarify on this video, the point you should be taking away from this is that we can’t go on a unlimited spending spree due to UEFA guidelines.
The new Premier League punishment scheme is still massive news for us as it allows us to keep our best players while also taking pressure off us to bring in that extra player that we wouldn’t of previously done

The champions league won't punish a club with world class players , it doesn't make sense . They want the best cup competition, this would degrade it,and could cause a new super league to take it on. Just my opinion

      Adam, I think from
      Scotland to Newcastle
Marseille to Rome football fans would agree about the state of the game.
I am 42 coming up for
43 I got in to football properly when I was 12 coming up for 13 & I hand on heart can say the actual game on the pitch was more fun to watch than it is now & that is down to three being
far , far to much money in football it's because all about chasing money & not so much about winning trophies it's sad
trophies should be what all sports are all about but it feels like football clubs not fans have forgot that at some point on the road to the present day.
We dont really have maverick players like a Gazza or Asprilla anymore
the closest we get now is
      is Grealish.
      But good luck
      Newcastle United
Toon Army are always more than welcome
      in Scotland.

Yes I would gladly accept a 1 year ban from European competition in order to strengthen our squad and concentrate on domestic league / cups. What we need more than anything is to actually win something. Then I think you will see us fulfill our massive potential and go on to win multiple trophies over the next decade.

i think this its a much more sensible rule and i don't honestly think the club will go mad spending loads of money and you don't need to spend 100's of millions on 1 player to get quality just look at Isak and Bruno and Gordon etc great players for around the 50ish million price , its a great opportunity to get a few extra players as this season has shown how much we struggled due to injuries and how Eddie was also struggling to try and put a team together with what he had left, i still feel we are improving all the time and it will still take another year or two to be up there in top 4. The UEFA rules apply to the wage bill, don't they?
If so then that would mean that, in theory, PIF could simply sell off (or release) all the players they no longer need, which would free up a lot of space on the wage bill. The newly proposed Premier League rules would mean that PIF could go out and sign new players, pay the fine, but still afford the wages without breaching the current UEFA limits due to having cleared out all the 'deadwood'.

Based on how city took the mick and how so many teams such as them and Barca have done so, I'm not totally worried. Our chances of European qualification might have improved slightly recently, but it's still murky. So assuming we fail to qualify, that would give a new squad only a single season without it, not exactly catastrophic. Besides, with our injury problems, I've got no problem taking a quick break. It's better that than being shackled and going up and down like we have been

I’d take the uefa hit to build the squad. What we definitely won’t do is buy silly numbers of players for the first team. They know it’s too disruptive. They might buy a lot of youf players to sell later maybe. But they’ll maybe get five or six players max. ( two strikers, a right winger, a fast centre back and a right footed cb plus a ‘keeper).

It seems to me PL are trying to dodge an anticompetative law suit by removing a relegation threat to ambitious clubs wanting to break into European competitions and dumping it on UEFA.
I notice the PL still want to cut off Saudi led sponsorships into Newcastle United to block boosting its revenue stream to compete with those clubs who already have them in place and can easily move in the transfer market to maintain a lock on other clubs ambitions.

It must be frustrating for the owners of NUFC who are worth £billions from a country that have £trillions but have their hands tied but I guess this is something better than nothing, it just means they need to be careful not to cross that red line of spending too much money of players and wages. I think it is even more important to build a state of the art mega stadium with a capacity of 90k to 100k to generate more income which would make NUFC more sustainable.

      Unfortunately for
Newcastle United & say Everton foe example
F.F.P came in at totally the wrong time.
      Chelsea &
Manchester City took advantage to get to the top when there was no
      F.F.P.
To be very honest with you, I honestly dont think
F.F.P. can ever work as intended in football. The game is not structured in a way to make it work as it should.
F.F.P. or salary cap systems only work properly in leagues like
The N.F.L. & N.R.L. whare their is no promotion & relegation in my view.
To make F.F.P. or a salary cap work you need a cupple of other parts to make them work.
      You need a salary floor
& hard cap at the top end of the wage structure a maximum amount of spend.
      You also need a
C.B.A. whare all profits are shared evenly league or turnement wide from
T.V rights & merchandise sales the only profit that would not be shared is match day revenue thar is the only way F.F.P. or hard salery cap can work if not you would at some point in the future see what has happened with Premiership rugby clubs in England clubs because insolvent eventually.
So football needs something, but football needs to change its structure in order for F.F.P. or salery Cap to work effectively
      Football introduced
F.F.P. without thinking it through now clubs such as Newcastle United & Everton suffer because of it.
I personally am finding the game more & more corrupted from top to bottom even F.I.F.A. I dont trust, never mind U.E.F.A.
The game is in a terrible state whatsoever way you cut it.

Newcastle could just go for a trophies domestically for 2 years to me seems like that would actually be worth it. Newcastle United, I don't have that kind of pulling power yet, unlike a
Real Madrid & also a lot of foreign players only want to play for London clubs because London is all they know of the U.K.
for example, Vialli moved from Juventus to Chelsea, a turnement asked him why he did not tuse to go to
Glasgow Rangers Vialli sead because Rangers dont play in London & that it the mentality of foreign players buy & large to to get acplayer like Mbappé you would need to more than brack the bank plus build him a mansion with a private jet
& let him live in London or Paris fly in for training & on match day's to Newcastle & back again that is what would be required so sign such players.
You need to have a measured approach to transfers & build up the profile of your squad, not just go from a claped out old banger under Ashley to a Lamborghini in a day
take time to let your squad develop at a sustainable rate
Newcastle United has been sensible for the most part in the transfermarket under the new ownership, but more background checks need to be done on players in the future as this season has proved.

    Current restrictions aren’t great!

I don’t want people to get the impression we have a unlimited spending spree, the new rule is huge for keeping our top players at the club without the fear of selling them
