Johnny B Goode is obviously around that time, because his cousin Marvin called him with it, when Marty McFly was playing it at the "Enchantment under the Sea"-Dance in 1955...
Yes exactly! that obviously was too much for them but their kids were gonna love it and ironically I guessed 1958 because of that line Marty makes in the movie so I assumed the song came later on after 1955 but not too much later cause it's in black and white tv
😂😂😂😂
Martine and Jayse singing Last Resort together, absolutely epic.
💛💛💛
I bet the 80s guesses for Walk This Way were thinking of the Run DMC collab.
That's what I figured.
I loved how into it Jayse got! You could tell that he is a music enthusiast 🤘🏼
I'm a simple man. I see Paramore, I click the video
No way you guys put Machine Gun Nobody in the mix. 😂😂😂 It's blasphemy to call that trash rock. 😂😂😂
THANK YOU!
HIS MUSIC SUUUUUUUUCKS!!
A disservice to call it pop punk. lmao
As much as he sucks, Bloody Valentine is more rock than AIn't it Fun
He tried to make rap music and was shit at it, tried making rock music and was shit at it, bro just needs to retire
@@iliketrains3495 Go away
Martine and Jayse are perfect for this game. They both are so good at knowing music.
Agreed they need to partner up more often
I was screaming Finger Eleven so many times at my computer. 🤣
I thought Johnny B. Good was released in 1956 and i blame Back To The Future for that.
It took a few years for Marvin and Chuck to work out the music and lyrics after Marty left.
1955
@@jmgirty20 In my mind he released the song 1 yeart after the call.
I do not know a lot of Rock Songs, but I do know "Last Resort" by Papa Roach - that song was huge ...
I need you guys to pit Jayce and Alex against each other for the title of ultimate rock nerd
EXCUSE ME BUT PAPA ROACH HAS HAD TONS OF HITS. The disrespect.
Jayse and Martine is a good match up. I would like to see Jayse and Jaxson matched up.
someones never seen back to the future and it shows, 7:36 you would instantly recognize marty singing johnny b goode and marvin berry calling his cousin chuck to let him listen to the new sound he was looking for
That’s how I remember it was in the later 50s
Also, how has he never heard of the song?
Love that they were playing longer clips of the songs.
I like how you played more of the song in this video than you normally do. Watching the crew jam out is what I enjoy the most!
My husband says that Chuck Berry is the true Godfather of rock & roll
Ike Turner did it before Chuck, Lil Richard and Elvis.
Muddy Waters as claimed by many classic rock bands.
Martine saying Tina Turner wore her hair natural in the 80s 😂 Ms. Tina wore wigs!
I give those who guessed "1985" on "Walk This Way" some slack. Run DMC released their cover of the song in 1986.
Oh man, Finger Eleven was a throwback. Paralyzer was my favorite song in high school.
I would love to see a react to women in metal. Like react to bands like jinjer, nightwish, arch enemy, spiritbox, Hailstrom, within temptation, amerathe, kittie, you know bands like that. The reactions on there faces would be priceless and awesome.
Let’s see Janet, Jaxon, Jayse, and Alex in a direct 1v1v1v1 Music Challenge.
I think Alex takes it all in that case, but it'd be a fun video to watch.
Janet Jaxon lol
I want a video of Keith vibing to Paramore
I want a video of every Reactor who's never listened to Paramore, having to listen to the most popular song off each Paramore album in chronological order.
...look, I just love Paramore and want other people to experience their music, too, okay? 😅
I cannot believe it was suggested that Last Resort was the only good song Papa Roach released. They have so many bangers.
Blood Brothers was the first song that got me into Papa Roach from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
Someone said they didn't like scarr
REACT uses that video formliterally every single "Do they know rock songs" videos and it is like the react staff don't know any OTHER songs by papa roach.
I mean one of the lyrics from that RATM album is "as we move into 92...."
I was genuinely surprised there were people who hadn't heard Johnny B. Goode because that also means they somehow haven't seen Back to the Future.
It makes me sad that some people didn't know that Johnny B. Goode had to have come out some time after Saturday November 12th, 1955!
Fun fact: that Weezer video was on the Windows 95 cd-rom to demo the windows media player. Must have installed Win95 a million times in the 90s and always used that video to test my drivers 😊
Alex and Jayce need to go against each other in something like this. I feel like they’re the best two reactors at naming things.
Jayse!!! You broke my heart!! Papa Roach is such an amazing band with so many amazing songs!! And they are so awesome to see live! Jacoby brings the energy to his shows!!!
Come on Jayse, Chuck Berry's cousin Marvin called him with the new sound for Jonny B Good in Back to the Future when Marty went back to 1955. I feel like you would know that!
I was think exactly the same thing, immediately thought of BTTF
Would love to see a video with just Alex and Jayce battling it out.
Martine calling her dad out on his dancing.... 🤣
Keith seems to keep forgetting he's playing a game while the song is playing
Betchya Jaxon would do good at this, he seems to have a passion for music.
8:49 "They never had another good song" So, we are just going to pretend To be loved, She loves me not, Getting away with murder, Between angels and insects and Broken home dont exist then, eh?
We need a tournament between all the ones who get all the music questions right all the time. King or Queen of the Jam or something catchier.
Yes! Include Brian and Izzy R too!
A few videos ago the staff mentioned Lola by the Kinks as their only hit in the USA. Some of us called bullsh*t on this as their first and biggest hit was You Really Got Me. Maybe they read them and decided to include this song here to make ammends?
Their biggest hit was Lola. You Really Got Me was a bigger hit for Van Halen. Especially if you combine it with Eruption.
Maybe, but I think that was also a different producer who claimed that.
I thought that too although it's possible this video was already filmed by the time the 'banned' ones had been uploaded
Ain't it Fun came out on the 2013 album titled Paramore.
came here to say this. how could they get it wrong? lol
@@rae3240 cause paramore released a Ain't it fun single album in 2014 Also :Ain't it Fun was released as a CD single in the UK on August 28th, 2013 and as a radio single in the US on February 4th, 2014, It was officially released to mainstream US radio stations on February 11th, 2014. So it was released in 2014 in the US so technically they are both right and wrong
"Does 'Kink' mean the same thing in Britain as it does over here?" lmao Martine
😂😂🫣
All I can ever think of with Eye of the Tiger is Jensen Ackles lip syncing it on the Supernatural set.. unplanned.
Same! 😂
6:14 Time has been weird since covid.
The Matrix came out in 1999, not 2000 and Wake Up wasn't written for the movie, it, like Killing in the Name was part of their 1992 self-titled debut album Rage Against the Machine.
Came looking for this comment!
Uhhhh Jayce what about Scars?!?! One of my favorites!
enjoy these episodes and reactors
good to see tabitha more and janet it's been a while
Jayce and Alex - cultured men
One of my favorite Paramore songs. Anytime I hear it on the radio or in a store, I instantly jam out.
Aint it fun was released in 2013 where the album was released. Not 2014 but the video was released in 2014.
Johnny Be Good couldn't be before 1955, the year Marty McFly came to play it at the prom ^_^
:D
😂😂 I guessed 85/86 for "walk this way" too..I was thinking of the Run D.M.C. remix though lol!
💜🖤💜
RIGH? remix automaticaly had poped up
'They just never had another good song'. Dude, seriously? Go listen to Scars by Papa Roach! Also, Between Angels and Insects. It's proof they have more than one good song. And I actually liked Scars more than Last Resort. Also, they have a newer song from 2022 called Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark) which I've heard is about being in a dark place that can lead to suicide and trying to be the light that pulls them away from that. So yes, I'm offended by the remark that they have no other good songs! I absolutely loved them when I was in Middle School and High School. And still like their music. There was nothing quite like 2000's rock music. Also, I'm dating myself here, but Last Resort came out when I was in Middle School.
I knew Buddy Holly was released in 1994 because it was then later in the next year included on the brand spanking new Microsoft Windows 95 Operating Systems installation CD to showcase the advanced media handling and playback capabilities in Windows 95 compared to the ol Windows 3.x series where playing video was a pixelated mess.
Of course I got Weezer's Buddy Holly (1994) immediately.
The Matrix came out in 1999 Keith
Top notch soundtrack!
Martine finally met her music match!!😮.. Jayce vs Alex vs Martine free for all, not locked to any music genre.
This, except make it a Hot Dumz, so that they're all infuriated that they can't think. 😂
@@wondercotonomg!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"You told me you were fast!?"
"No! I told you i was dangerous"
❤😅😂👏
To the people who guessed 1985/86 for Walk This Way, that was when the remix with Run DMC came out
Jase your hair looks great! I miss the long hair but looks good!
Maan they really had a chance here to put on some Bad Omens or Starset… shameless plug
Jayse and Martine are a fun duo, and I love them, but can you imagine Alex and Jayse? Ut would have been a great match!
I'm not that surprised the woman by Keith thought the Papa roach song was by Limp Bitkit given her age, but I'm really surprised even Alex thought that, given his age and the kind of music he seems to listen to
Did anyone else sing along with jayse and martine 😂😂nothing better than weezee
Not gonna lie figured Johnny be good sometime after 1955 iykyk
As soon as dude said he'd never heard it before, I was like, "You never watch BTTF?!?!"
My guess was 1956 for the exact same reason. My exact thought was "it's sometime after November 12th, 1955" because that's when Marvin Berry called his cousin Chuck to have him hear this new sound.
I *knew* folks were gonna guess the wrong decade for Aerosmith...
The RATM debut was epic loved it when came out still can listen to whole album now timeless classic.
Love the casrt you chose, and love that you put in there Rage against the machine, they are so TRULY underrated in Europe itself.
I used to wear a hoodie that NOBODY recognized until from black it turn bright grey. No one needed to know this, but just had to leave it in a comment where people understood.
7:51 the face palm after this interaction lol
Proud Mary was originally done by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It was released in 1969. Using the original band would be a plus in a competition like this.
Got all points for Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Tina Turner and Survivor. 3 points for Chuck Berry (thought 1954) and the Kinks (thought '69)
I had absolutely no idea about any of the other groups. I guess that goes to show where my taste In music lies. Official, card carrying old fart.
Papa Roach had more good songs Jayse
did they tho?
Definately! I have ALBUMS of theirs🤘🏻
Papa Roach had bangers, She love's me not, Broken Home, Just wanna be loved, Between Angels & Insects, Getting away with murder
Yes they did! Scars, Broken Home, Not Listening, Getting Away with murder...
Homies love for Paramore was my favorite part 😊😊
REACT has been a part of my entertainment routine for as long as I can remember. From laugh challenges to food shows, you never fail to entertain. Looking forward to more exciting content!
ibinge watch everyweekEND
Martine and Jayce need to form a group 😂
"Eye of the Tiger" - Now I know that people still had 1970s hairstyles in the early 1980s.
The papa Roach SLANDER! "They never had another great song after"? Dude xD Just mainstream knowledge here, but SCARS is a BANGER!
I played along, and got 29 points. It was hard trying not to have any of them say the corrects answers before I had a chance to listen to any of the songs, so I had to be quick with the pause. It was tough.
Same, but I only got 27 😅
I listen to RATM in my car. Not driving too fast is always a challenge. XD (Also, I keep flipping the air off while singing, always wondering if other drivers think I'm bonkers or just rude. XD )
Love the video, fun to play along, however, R U Mine by the Artic Monkeys was released in 2013 :)
ain't it fun is from self titled album, that came out in 2013
Jayse really said Papa Roach had no other good songs after Last Resort? Wow...
that hurts
*murica/humans, when you’re famous and popular when you name yourself after a weapon/murder tool…*
16:38 Finger Eleven doesn't sound so weird if you know that their original name was Rainbow Butt Monkeys (seriously...look it up. I had "Letters From Chutney" on CD).
Jayse and Martine... Awesome pairing. All the pairings were great!
💛💛
@@MartineBeerman Thank you!!!!!
Also song 5 sounded like Run Rudolph Run
Just me?
Chuck Berry has made the same song like 12 times
Mgk what da heck you doing in a rock video
*A very good question. Since when is MGK Rock? More bla bla music than almost anything else.* 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@NicholasCorvinApparently bro switched genres after getting dissed so hard by eminem
Machine Gun Kelly does not belong in this list. Sticks out like a sore thumb
they should have allowed a point for 1986 for "Walk This Way", as Aerosmith with Run DMC had a hit with it that year.
Why would they when the song in the video is the original?
@@module79l28 and why wouldn't they? as they never asked when it was "originally released".
@@jeanlongsden1696 - What part of _"the song in the video is the original"_ didn't you understand?
awesome video, also nice playlist
I wanna know more about American vs British kink.
So happy to finally see some Arctic Monkeys in here. One of the best bands in this century
16:30 Martine’s smile, right here, is gorgeous! (I, honestly, have a crush on her)
☺️☺️☺️💛💛💛
The way I SCREAMED when Arctic Monkeys started playing!!!!! That’s my favorite song and favorite band!!!! I saw them in September 🥰🥰
Why couldn't i hear it when they played it like the others?! Grrrrr
Tina Turner, Proud Mary on the Iron Eagle soundtrack
Finger eleven is when you, as a guy, stick your hands in your pockets and count your fingers.
More please 🙏🏽 😊
Great lineup and subject❤
Jayse. Jayse…. You have gotta listen to some more of Papa Roach’s catalog. LOTS of good stuff after Last Resort
Man I was like how. They got so many hits and good songs
When Jayce was one of your favorite reactors until he said Papa Roach “never had another good song” after Last Resort 😤😤
The version of Walk This Way which had Run DMC with Aerosmith was an 80s song but yes the original song was 70s.
Ahhh thank you for clarifying. Lol I.just thought of the Sesame Street version of that song! (So I guessed 87) 😝
5:08 THANK YOU
Jayse deserves an extra point because Walk This Way was re-released in 1986 by Run DMC with Aerosmith.
That was Run DMC covering the song and featuring Aerosmith.
The video was the original by Aerosmith, not the cover by Run DMC with Aerosmith.
