It is not easy to take care of my mother who is always negative, so I get creative. I cook alot to help me deal with her negative moods. And I put her favorite movies to change the mood. I tell myself, I will still have joy, despite her mood. I don't feed her negativity. And fortunately, I get her to laugh and be happy by changing the home environment. And giving my mother hope, it a gift God has blessed me with.

Alexandria Reynoso thank you for sharing this I was going to ask Lisa about dealing with a negative elderly parent whom you love dearly. I’m not taking care of her but she lives in Georgia I live in Tennessee so we talk a lot over the phone. Everything she says is negative about other family members I state I’m not interested in others siblings or family information only what going on with her but sometimes I don’t know if my mom knows how to say positive things maybe possibly because of her up bringing so I sometimes let her calls go to voicemail. My dilemma is she is up in age I need to speak with her about certain health issues. Thank you for giving me more ideas to consider 🙏

I love her dearly, but she is going through depression and may not be aware of it, and I take care of her, so I find it a struggle living with someone who can be negative and give off negative energy, but I see this example given and I will execute it! Thanks!
My mother is negative too. Dont think she'll change and its draining. I have to keep my distance

I spend so much time by myself, and it's tempting to say that I sometimes feel "alone". But, I'm beginning to appreciate this time that I have to get to know myself. God is teaching me His ways, and showing me who I am. In that time, He has led me to people like you who say things that affirm that spending and ENJOYING time with myself has value and is actually fulfilling...versus allowing myself to feel "alone". To say that your expressions are BOLs for me is an understatement! You are one of the first speakers that I encountered in my journey, and I am eternally grateful that God led me to you! Even through CZcams, I can feel your passion and sincerity for doing the work that God created you to do. I can only imagine how life-changing and transforming it will be to meet you. Dearest Lisa, I am in awa what you talk to people about, what you talk about is my inner critic saying to me over and over again. I listened to many teachers, I read a lot of books, I learned and learned and learned. The hard way, just like you. I am challenged in so many ways, that I wished that I had only one challenge. If you think that being a black single mother with no skills that others appreciate. And you inspire people to make their future. I hear that you go boldly, and want to be just like you. With all my challenges, I want to be like you. I want to stop telling myself that I am not good enough. With all my challenges I had shown up in my life. You are my ultimate challenge, to be just like you. What do I admire in you? You show yourself, your total self. I will learn from you how to show myself, with all my challenges. And they are many. A scared little girl who sat hours each evening at table with my dad next to me who forced me to eat meat.. That was when my drive was born and that was the time when I tried to stand up fro my beliefs. All challenges that came after that time, got worse and worse. Because I was afraid to get punished. Afraid to be rejected, afraid to be shamed. Afraid of life. I learned from just one speach from you, that I can be like you. That in fact I am you, but am afraid to be you. So I am going to battle and go beyond the fear. Thank you so much... I really, really love you and realise when I write this sentence, that I finally allow myself to love me. I thought this life was only for me. I to spend a lot of time alone, but I love it. I'm now spending the time to know myself better and have the presence of Jesus as my guidance counselor. you both work well together. I had extreme negativity when I was a teenager from my parents. My aunt was a life saver for mr. She told me that it was not my fault and to stay strong. Mentors are so important for all of us no matter what our age. Now in my life I'm looking for financial freedom. I needed this😘😘😘😘😘😘

Create a safe haven. I have created a safe haven for my daughters and their friends at my home. I made a special comfy room in my backyard where they hang out, eat pizza or work out. These young ladies can visit me when they are feeling stress. It has been very rewarding for me to be a part of their lives. Helping them gives me so much joy! And these young ladies are good company for me.
Dear Lisa! When you said you’re an ordinary woman who chooses everyday to make multiple extraordinary decisions it hit me to the depths of my soul. I have been watching you for 2 years now and am so grateful for all that you do. I am 24 yrs old and am currently working to build my company to uplift my community. For me witnessing you choosing to let yourself be vulnerable on "You Tube " by giving yourself permission to cry. I am so absent of emotions that I want to cry but seem unable to. I really needed this. I am you and you are me. So much you spoke about I can relate to. I still feel that if it is not hard or difficult then it must not be worthy to be a calling. Then there is the saying thank you. That's me all day. I will now say "I receive that". Next there is the asking for help as like a form of self-care. Whew am I guilty of that. Lastly, being feeling lonely but not reaching out. I love solitude because it refreshes me. However, I love people and want to help them. That's just some of the ones I can identify with. Lisa, you give people the love they desire. The lesson I have learn is give people the love they desire and the love that you desire. You are a gift
to the world truly. That is really good idea to write down the positive things people say about you. And leave out the negative. Because when you are in your lower point in your life you will look to the positive things people said about you and it will remind you how good you really are. Don't write the negative, write the positive things only.
I'm just finding this channel but never to late right. This so resignated with me learn how to ask the anchors in your life for their time "I feel lonely and I'd keep myself alone. Self care requires raising my hand" amen I needed that.

I was listening to Les Brown (and still do) but somehow found Lisa. I am so glad she exists. And she is real.
My #1 BOL is her comment from her grandma, “if you want your ‘yes’ to have more power you need to excercise your ‘no’. ‘No’ is a complete sentence, it requires no explanation.”
I truly appreciate finding this. I am in the process of creating my own photography biz and brand and of ALL the folks I’ve listened to (Robbins, brown, ziglar, goggins, amongst others) she is the most real and relatable. But like she said use 3 or 4 things and make them yours. That’s been my life for the past 6 months. And those around me have noticed.

I’ve always known God has called me to something big but like you At one point, I don’t know what that end looks like but I’m down for the ride of crazy faith and for funding my dream before I even know what it looks like! Her name is Faythe. The more I hear your story I know she’s already a little Lisa. Thank you I learned tobe more open to be a better listener. To be more compassionate and. That its ok to ask for time. And its ok to take that time to figure out what it is that I am creating and how to build it back up. I am in the process of rebuilding and what I like to call it right now. I am on the journey to the Royal Palace! Lisa, you are one of my role models in life now. I am so happy during this extremely tough time that I have right now, I happened to come across your video on CZcams. My tears dropped when I saw your tears because I realize something about having faith. It is not about expecting great things to come all the time. Faith is about having that belief that we have strength to go through tough times in our lives.
I had the awesome privilege of volunteering at the Speak and Write Conference in San Diego last May. Connecting with incredible people was life changing. This video was timely and I am inspired beyond words. My BOL- "I can't grow into the next best version of me because of keeping score of the last version of me" I rewound 6 times trying to catch it. I am releasing the lies I held onto about not being good enough, or worthy to motivate people. The other BOL was instead of saying thanks when complimented, say " I receive that". I am going to start a "Validation Journal" of things people say to affirm the gifts and talents that God has blessed me with. Thanks Lisa and Matt!

BOL!!! The YANA for me was that I’m the one to whom everyone can come, but I wouldn’t go to anyone for anything! I could do it, figure it out, etc. on my own, which was/is is correct, just not HEALTHY! When your 60-70% is the 100%+ of those who draw from you it can be daunting, but I’m beginning to create my own tribe of like-minded people and God is just stacking them up in my path...total strangers! I met one in the gas station just yesterday. Lisa, if it were not for you sharing your love the way you do, I would NEVER even have imagined that I need and want people in my life the way I do! I love her sincerity, those tears are real, she represents how we all feel sometimes, that's why people are ready to hear her message.
My BOL was being able to id and relate to the contradiction between what I thought of me and the gift God gave me to share w others that I too saw and see being laid out before me as I share it to help me see my identity. And to learn to accept that appreciation and it helped me realize the goodness, consistency and grace God gives. As cohen wrote, the cracks let the light come in but I will add, and when others see that light snd say ty, it’s confirmation you are working with the light at some level.

Ok I’m probably the oldest woman having commented. Often I feel is if why try? I’ve missed so many opportunities because of fear or insecurities or not feeling good enough. This video is a pivoting moment for me starting 1/21/22. I was captivated & compelled to get back on track . To Refocus, Refuel and Resume my marathon. (Mega bawling), -when I heard you say Lisa, "I believe there's a Lisa somewhere. (Confirmation regarding my prayers five years ago.) "I just know that I am out there in different forms"......"Because once there is evidence that you can do it, then there is no excuse for you not to. I AM YOUR EVIDENCE! Because I am not extraordinary. I am ordinary." Lisa, you spoke POWERFULLY to me!! Catching my breath to get back up again.
What I love about this community and listening to you is that in some way you always manage to touch my soul, I tell myself I will not cry but it happens anyway, you make me laugh, have my AHA moment and most importantly MOVE FORWARD.
My heart has been swelling this entire conversation. Omg, Thankyou! The breakdown process of here's where I am, here's where I want to go, and acknowledging the gap in between. And even though everyday may not look as easy as walking to your destination; crawling on your hands and knees will still get you there.

Gasp! OMG!!!!!! I have to catch my breath after that one! There were so many quotes and words that I can choose as a standout for me. #BOL "if I just have to get on me, I choose me, im a good bet!" I love it Lisa! Ive never heard anything like it. This video was so juicy, I was glued! You opened my eyes so much wider than they have ever been. So many things you said hit home with me Lisa, it just brought me to tears of joy, excitement, and enlightenment. I just want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for what you do because, ive NEVER EVER had anyone care for me, and invest so much time in me throughout my entire life!
