That's kinda the vibe that Alienware PCs give me in general haha.
Dell for the pass few years... including their newest Smart shift AMD G5 SE 4800h laptop are all bad engineered designs. New Dell AMD laptops run extremely hot 🔥 hot, their panel ms refresh rate is garbage and they're the slowest AMD laptops. @@BjayawesomeBlackDude But then again the dell latitudes are really well built
@@BjayawesomeBlackDude Almost all "cutting edge" gaming laptops have major thermal issues. There are a couple standouts out there these days, but by and large thermals in a thin platform are just a big problem.
Alienware's thermal design is typically quite good, but the people building their laptops have a bad habit of really caking on the thermal compound, which really ruins it. One of the leading suggestions for new laptop buyers is that they disassemble the laptop, clean off the gratuitous compound, and apply new compound properly. It's a shame, really.
The case looks like a scaled-up USB-C port.

Exactly the type of people who buy a Dell.
Poopee people who buy dell desktops typically don’t know much about PCs or anything tech, as they only go after the one brand they know. People who are more tech savvy (like you and me and everyone watching this video) would either build or go to like an NZXT BLD

I have this case with a 2080ti blower style and I have to under-clock the card to play games reasonably, it runs so hot and loud the cooling in this case is not good at all! Seeing this makes so much sense and alienware knew they needed this
It wouldnt be an issue if they designed a case with good airflow.... instead of asking another company to over engineer and pass the extra cost to the consumer.
I find this hard to believe. I've got that setup, and using afterburner's default fan curve w/ a 100mhz overclock (and 250mhz on ram), my GPU never breaks 70C (Blower style heat sink)... These hyperbolic comments are likely from people who don't own these systems.
@@Hickeroar It's not. Its factual in my case 👍
No pun intended, I'll take it though 😂
@@HomeworkRadio Sorry, but I'm pretty skeptical of that claim. Reality doesn't back those claims up from plenty of other tests and examples. If you are having these issues, it's because something is wrong with your setup. On top of that, no one under-clocks their video card, because that functionality is built into the card where heat is concerned. If your GPU gets too hot, it will throttle itself down to where it needs to be to maintain healthy thermals. Underclocking a GPU is nonsensical. It doesn't make sense.
7:35 damn, that sound editing is so good!
As someone watching this with headphones in, I thought one of them died at first lmao
As soon as i heard the effect on my headphones i dove deep into the comments and found this reaction
Prebuilts like this really make me scratch my head.... such a perplexing mix of wasteful spending and questionable penny pinching.
Well, they have the overhead of designing the case to look like a dyson fan that was abducted by some extraterrestrials, but they also cannot charge too much for it because otherwise people would just buy from the competitors, so they have to have comparable specs on paper, but safe money on everything else to somehow stay competitive.
Das Die Der Erik They also have garbage airflow, which in turn make a normal gpu run hot. Which they then pay another company to make something for them. While just getting better airflow would solve that problem in the first place.
The fact Alienwares have to work around stock Dell cases really hurts them.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: that case looks like a bladeless fan.

If there's one thing that's a guarantee in the Gaming PC market, it's that one person's case preference is laughable to someone else.
@jt thorsson The airflow is pretty decent in them. They're set up so the PSU's airflow is in->out, blower style GPUs (which are louder, sure, but good for airflow), top exhaled CPU heat, and a beefy fan in the front to establish some solid intake into the case. It could be better, but it's not nearly as poor as some of the g4m3r cases out there. If you use the default fan curves in afterburner, the GPU fan is a bit on the loud side, but you rarely break 70C on the GPU under full load, which pretty much means that there's a decent amount of cool air entering the case.

Is that because "thier" is spelled "their". But the correct words to use there should be "they're"?
@@chm2 Heh, thanks for the help! English isnt my first language and the thier they're there always confuses me
4:35 "But enough teasing Dell about...for real, the 8 pin is a 6 pin"
I have a bad feeling running a 10900K off of a single 6 pin power connector...
It can easily. But wouldn't recommend though.
7:30 To editors. when making an audio effect like here where the audio comes from either the right or left side. Use premiers "Stereo Expander" instead of just panning the audio. much better and more convincing effect. just my two cents.
Whoever edited this did a cool trick with the audio sliding left to right
I can’t stop staring at the cowlick on his head.

"needs to fit in a tiny case"- 5 slot cooler.
TitanV- 2 slot, You could literally fit a pair of titanV's in the same space.

It was done for marketing BS and that's fine, just own up to it. Its a 215w gpu and its not like 250w founders 1080Ti's or TitanVs made peoples ears bleed. Personally I'd rather have dual rtx2070Supers (only 175w) or 1 big gpu in a smaller system, Heck they could put a 2080Ti in this with an NH-D14 bolted to it if they wanted.
Loooking at that reminds me of those famous fanless coolers maybe you could modify one to incorporate a pc build.
I wonder if it would be possible for them to make a full-cover water block for a short PCB GPU (likely made of copper/aluminum), and then pretty much staple a RAD-Pump combo to the side of the GPU (120mm-like RAD so the size of the GPU would be like a normal-length card).
That way, you'd get the Cooling/Noise benefits of a RAD-Card, but without taking up the extra PCIE-Slot.
The water block style first layer would handle the card itself and doing it that way, if the top of the block is layered correctly, the heat from the Rad/Fan exhausting towards the back of the GPU (in a blower-style config) shouldn't create too much loss of cooling.

0:00 Hey Linus, where was you looking when the video started?
Seriously paused the video to give kudos to the sound guy or gal. The pan left to right when describing the proper cooling was a seriously appreciated touch. You've got a good sound guy or gal and your content is like marginally ok hehehe.
kinda like the cooler used on some cards from msi and the thermaltake tidewater , if you remember
