- It's dark outside, I'm riding alone
But I know the road
Can't even see ahead of my nose
But I know the road
A little scared, but I know where to go
Cuz I know the road
I can do it by feel, take it real slow
I know the road
Hold on--a fork in the road
Life in transition
Hold on--moving too fast
In the wrong direction
Hold on--gotta feel the road
Know my position
Break the speakers, crack the books
Over you shoulder, not another look
Burn off the shackles of a wooden past
Melt through the ice, be free at last
Dare to be stupid, dare to smell
You can be crazy, you can be hell
The end result is always the same
Whichever you choose, you lose--you're insane
Granite poured into my veins
Black hole explodes in my brain
The accident is to blame
You say you're going insane
Say it like you mean it, man
I wish I could, but I can't
You say that life is a pain
It isn't for me, man
I don't feel anything at all
Shield myself from the world
Hold everything inside
Fold my arms across my chest
Shield the world from myself
Make sure the sleeves are tied
Wrap my arms across my chest
Death is my life
Life is my Death
Lay my arms across my chest
I know the road, I know where it goes
I know the road, I know where it goes
Don't tell me what I already know
I know where it goes, that's why I'm going so slow
Wow its really pretty crazy how much 80's punk and thrash sound really similar but different at the same time. This sounds like if Voivod went jazz/punk instead of jazz/prog metal
That's exactly what came to mind when I first heard this was a punk version of Voivod.
Bill is a BEAST playing drums in this song!
video should have at least 10,000 views
insane drumming
please read this, it has 50,000 views now
They put a lot of effort into writing this mini punk opera. It took me a couple tries to finally appreciate the creativity behind the song.
This totally sounds like it could be from Black Flag's 'In My Head.'
Bill wrote it for BF but never used it for that band.
Stephen wrote this song.
I do recall Bill saying that “Silly Girl” and “Ace” off of ‘ I Don’t to Grow Up’ initially being written for and rehearsed by Black Flag during the ‘Loose Nut’ era.
@@matthewvaneyk4679 NO WAYYYY those tunes woulda flown with Black Flag. Great music…for Descendents’ Oranges to Black Flag’s Apples….
@@michaelshields997 100% agree on that!
Best song on ALL.
No, All!
Eggerton wrote some awesome shit!!
I looked at the watch mojo top 10 punk bands and the DESCENDENTS were not on the list!!!! WTF!!!
Watchmojo ain't god
@@Ryanbrio ya
@@Kee23383 is dat u
I actually find this song incredibly catchy.
What's so funny about it? O.o
this is a weird descendents song but i love it
Punk IS weird. If any punk band hasn't done something weird like this, then they aren't punk
@nando19751 Old emo is actually pretty cool; check out Rights of Spring and Jets to Brazil. As for screamo, Saetia and Orchid, as well as a ground-breaking hardcore band known as Mohinder bring forth true energy and emotion. 90's emo and screamo are actually pretty Awesome!!!
This album is their best if you ask me
@muler321-growing up in the 80's and early 90's kind of gave me an insight of different types of genres of music, but true to most of the music that has come out after the 90's. the so-called punk was anything but. back then to me music was only in certain categories such as if a band was punk then they were and if they were hardcore then they were. i think wikipedia is made up by people who have some knowledge of certain things. i only heard of screamo a few years ago and not in the 90's.
@shikengastxa-very true. i'm just glad the emo scene died out. too bad it didn't sooner, but that's where the whole fun trying to express oneself comes into play as a youth. i wonder what's next?
any tabs?
Here for Covid-19
Same. I stumbled across it while looking at their other songs and I was like oh yea!
I think he knows the road
+Veselin Manojlović: Absolutely bro. Let's go drink a few Pabst at the frat house and discuss this deeply intellectual subject. Bwahahaaaaaa
prog. punk ?
Yes, weird huh?
What type of "Punk" would this be considered?
just punk or pop punk. anyone who tells you otherwise is a pretentious douche
+Veselin Manojlović "Technical death punk. " LMAO. I feel sorry for people who try to classify punk rock into there own imagined little sub-niches. Sad, and VERY unpunk.
+danielscissorhands technical death punk, fer sure man. :-P
There is no such thing as technical death punk, but based on the :-P face you made, I assume you are joking.
@danielscissorhands: Shit is either punk, or it's not. For instance: Descendants, Bad Brains, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Butthole Surfers, Suicidal Tendencies, MDC, Fang; is all punk. Even though each of those bands has their own distinct sound. They were the Forefathers. Blink 192, Green Cream Day, and most post- 80's rock that claims "punk influences" (punk influences...haHAAAA) is NOT punk. As Mike Muir of ST said, "If you're not now, you never were". I think we're on the same page dude.
Milo likes ¡t
lmao funny cool song, not super catchy, but i guess that isnt the point of this song. totally sounds like audial schizophrenia, haha
