When you're in the serpentis system keep an eye out for varuun Revelation or revelation II board. As soon as you board you are in their armory lots of guns spacesuits etc and the ships themselves sell for a decent amount.
As an added tip after you take over the ship make it your home ship and register it right there. Your ship will undock and try to fly away but you can redock with it and continue on about your piracy 👍
Also note for Amp: During the Crimson Fleet quest, you can find a magazine that teaches the recipe for Redamp. It costs one Amp, one Red Trench, and one Mercury, and makes two Redamp, which is just better Amp. 50% move speed boost instead of 35%. And it’s an easy way to use up the Red Trench that you find in various areas.
Which mission exactly?
Agreed, which mission?
Other one with power control for ships, is holding the d-pad up or down, instead of adding/removing one at a time, you can completely power off an item by selecting it and just holding down.
It won’t work properly if you have the companions who give permanent boosts to certain power categories.
Regarding the secret containers, I had noticed that there were oftentimes food items in what looked like toaster ovens.
Took me a few minutes of finagling to realize you could actually pick up the toaster ovens and dump the contents so that you could add them to your inventory.
The zoomed-out ship is an awesome tip. I was a bit peeved when we got to make all these massive, creative ships, and we're stuck looking at the thrusters. Hopefully some better view options become available.
Oh, so the Magsniper is basically the Gauss rifle from Fallout 4. I thought there was something wrong when damage was +700, but hardly scratched the opponents. Still prefer the Hard Target though.
The non-lethal Nova Disruptor works the same way. Just tapping the trigger makes the weapon seem weak and useless, but if you hold the trigger to charge until the weapon vibrates it should knock out most human enemies with a single well placed shot.
Good to know!👍🏻
(4:15) I've heard that the Novablast Disruptor can also fire charged shots.
Love therse tips!! THat fast travel one from your ship after landing is gold!
Awesome tips, especially the one about trading with ships in orbit, it's super helpful. Also, the Hornet Nest Magazine and Battery Weapons Modification absolutely melts everyone, even on Very Hard. It's awesome; highly recommend!.
Thanks! Yea Hornet's Nest is just silly, it's been all I've used for a while now. I think I need to mix it up a bit 😂
I made it to like level 30 before i learned about ship thrustsrs. A couple more things. Use the oxygen power when out of o2 when sprinting to replenish it immediately. Also get in the habit of doing a game save just before working on a lock, instead of using all your digipicks if you mess up
I just buy digipicks at every vendor I come across. I have hundreds of them now. It's way faster than save-scumming the locks.
@Richard-ug4el only have to actually use it on the expert and above anymore, but im in tje habit of doing it now. Off topic, but i think they need to have something in the GUI to remind us before we get to planet ship scans that we have contraband
There's a hazmat suit which gives 15 protection for all four environmental hazards on Kreet at the first place you fight. You'll find it to the left in a locker just inside "lab 01" entrance.
Looks swell on the dance floor, too.
I approach weapons the exact same way (and also use those Vanguard projectors... they become comically OP once you max out particle beam skill). I use that 3rd weapon space for suppressors for those odd times when you get a really high level ship in front of you that's alone. It's just a nice extra tool to have since they can just stay completely unpowered until you decide to use them.
I went to Serpentis right after getting the Mantis ship on my new character. Set the difficulty to very easy and I power leveled every skill in the tech tree I wanted while sticking up on credits and ship parts.
1st tip alone was worth the like and follow! Thanks!
When you replace one part on your ship you can color it the same as the rest of your ship by first [select all] and then open the coloring menu. Then go through all three x three variations and shift each color setting one degree right or left and then back again to the original position. That way you never lose your original colors. There's a color 1, 2 and 3. There is also three variations such as shading and intensity etc. So there are nine total settings which should be reset.
This is the best tips video yet - thanks for the great info!
4:17 Also work with EM weapon, like the Novablast Disruptor. Without charge you need few shots to paralyze an ennemy, while with charging your weapon you "one-shot" them
Tons of great tips. Thank you!
Wow! Thank you so much!
Definitely a few new ones for me in this video. Thanks
The fast travel tip is a huge help!
Some great tips. Thanks😁👍🤜
“Runners Rush” are fantastic
Yea I forgot about them. No addiction I assume
Love your Thunderbirds ship set up.
Coming up on 500 hours and the last 2 or 3 videos you’ve put out I’ve got something out of. Awesome. Thnx homie!!
Love to hear that!
So I'm not the only guy who does toilet filling!😂
Great video, I'll be honest: there were a lot more things I didn't know than what I expected!
Jemison's snow area making a perfect Amp farm is some great info. I wouldn't mind carrying a thousand units of Amp tied to a hotkey to keep my movement speed up while exploring.
Fast travel tip 😮 wow wish I knew. Also something a lot complain about, when really you can do it an easier way. Thanks
OMG thank you so much for this - spent a fortune on the MagSniper yesterday and thought I'd wasted all that cash!
At one point, you mentioned "register and sell" ships, and you don't actually have to register them (until the aforementioned exploit is patched). So what you're going to want to do is, have another ship that is registered, and when you go to sell the unregistered ship, you'll see that there is no option to. So tab over to the registered ship, and hit the button to tab over to the unregistered one, and the sell button, at the same time. On the confirmation, make sure it's the unregistered one you're selling (by its value). So that way you get the full value.
Also I noticed your ship has pretty uniform colors. I think everyone knows you can select all and paint the ship that way. But suppose you want to change a part or add a part, and now it sticks out? There's an easy way to do that. Select all, color, and then for each of the three colors, move the slider one point one direction, then one point back. Do that for all three colors. Now all your components have the same three colors selected.
Bravo, thanks from Panama city Beach, FL
Hope you are piling up the views on Starfield content. Miss having you doing your old gig in the game that shall not be named :) Cheers.
Someone needs to make a MOD that retains the power setting for each ship.
I often board ships and when i get back to my own ship, the power is all over the place.. shields may be all the way down, guns all the way down, Grav all the way up. If you're attacked as soon as you get back in your ship.. it is a frantic moment trying to get your power sorted out. Especially if one of them is trying to taunt you or strike up a conversation. Can't change power until the conversation is over. Mean while the guys buddies are pounding your ship!
Mag Sniper? Nah. I'll keep my Hard Shot. 784 base damage. Average 1,700 per stealth headshot and I don't even have tge Concealment perk yet. Not 1 level. 😂😂😂
I looted a mag sniper the other day. After modding it's over 1k damage.
I used to think you have to add enough power to the module to cover the damage, but I don't think that's the case. With just one pip of power, i find it repairs just as quickly as with full power. There is a hint in the loading screen that simply says "your modules repair faster when you add power" and i think that's the case, any amount of power works. Note I do have most of my ship tech skills maxed and one of them speeds up repairs, but this should still hold true.
Interesting, maybe I need to do a bit more testing on this
Once you've completed the Crimson Pirate quest line you'll get an access card that allows you to open Gal Bank credit chests. I thought it was only good for that one Gal Bank ship but nope..I've found a few of those GB cred crates/boxes at outposts. I don't know if they are a random spawn or not but I never noticed them before but now I am and I usually get around 3k+ creds when I open it. So look out for those black/gold GB boxes in outposts and you'll snag a decent amount of free money.
My friend playing the game "steals everything that isn't nailed down until they start nailing things down."
He doesn't sell ANY of it. No. He takes it and puts everything in the locker at Constellation. It's not uncommon for him to be over 1000 mass over his carry capacity.
After a few days of play time, the game freezes for about 5 second when he tries to look at his locker.
Not a tip just thought I'd share.
You can trade with “pretty much any ship”. Obviously non-hostile ships. But be aware, you also can’t trade with pure military vessels, or Galbank ships. The Galbank ships carry a lot of credits, but their job is to facilitate the economic flow of the Settled Systems, since digital currency transactions need to be processed faster than light speed, and they won’t trade with you.
You can still Pirate them, though.
Wow so that’s the benefit for leveling up scanning huh. I’ve kept it at 1 and I’m Lvl 80 through 380hrs lol. Love learning new things like that.
thank you for mentioning the ship traders, i've been posting about that on every video where someone mentions waiting to reset merchants.. just go to neon, so many merchants on the ground, and more in orbit, that should do it unless you haven't sold anything in 40 days and 40 nights.
12:00 "set the game to very hard when you load the area, because that's when loot is determined" AND "save just before the boss and if you don't like the loot just reload your save, because loot isn't determined until you actually loot them" sooo.. which is it???
i've tried setting the difficulty to very hard and loading into an area, then reduce it to normal multiple times, i don't really think it works. the game does load multiple "cells" at once, so seems like you'd need to stay set on very hard for a couple loading sessions for that to work. i know the reloading does change it, very much recommend saving just before getting the mantis armor for that reason, i "rerolled" it twice and got such a good set at level 20, i'm still using it at level 42.
Off to bed so just a quick reply, sorry for the confusion. What I meant with the boss was the individual enemies loot is not determined until they are dead ( I tested it a dozen times on that guy, loading just before killing him), but alternatively if you wanted to do the whole base run you could save before hand and kill everyone and see what items you get on each run.
I'm not certain how loot is determined for boxes/safes etc.
It works like this: when an area loads the l npc's' get equipped with weapons. If you set it to very hard the weapons will be of the highest grade (advanced) on condition that your level can use that grade. So for example at lvl 50 you can find advanced orions but not advanced disruptors yet. The boss npc's have besides the weapons that he uses also a randomized drop that makes a FEW of their items be able to drop out of your lvl range and be better drops than the rest , and also gives you at least 1 blue item.
If you revert settings to easy the equipped weapons will stay the same but random drops will loose quality so actually if you are going for an advanced legendary by scumming just keep it on very hard. If your only in it for selling loot than fiddling with settings might help you. But fiddling with settings and scumming turns the game into a chore so best advice is to set it to hard and keep it like that. Also because on normal its just 50 iq game that you cant loose
Huh! The lids... I never would have thought of it.
Thx
That 1st fast travel tip is gold!
Good isn't it! It's the little things
Love trading in space. I find it much quicker and you get about a third of the average credits but all you have to do is just keep selling. Jump if needed. Sell some more. Love this for early outpost builds too because as you are selling stuff you may come across some items you’d rather just buy right now.
You can very often approach a ship landing site once you land.
Soon after you leave your ship you will hear and see a ship landing nearby. Then a landing site icon will appear on your nav. Approach it and usually but not always it will be a hostile ship. If you kill all the guards usually the ship will immediately take off. You can ambush the guards on patrol and if you kill and loot all but one you can still board the ship. Then you can kill everyone aboard and steal the ship without having to put any points into ship combat targeting. It is land based piracy. You can often find ships to steal more frequently this way than by hunting for them in orbit.
Be on the lookout for contraband in any captured hostile ship. Either drop it on the planet or sell it at the Den before you enter a patrolled world.
What you can do also is, once everyone is away from the ramp or on patrol, I've snuck on the ship, made it mine, (a couple of times the pirates didn't even leave anyone on the ship) then snuck off and killed the rest of the ground crew.
About half the random ships are friendly on my game for some reason, and once they asked me if I had a repair kit, I didn't have one and figured I would go back and get one off my ship. When I came back I couldn't find anyone around. I swear i looked all the way around the ship, I can't remember if the ship was locked or not but I checked to see if they were on board and no one around, so I took the ship. As I was taking off the cinematic showed a guy walking towards the ship, Ooops!
I don’t need to watch anything beyond that first tip. Holy crap I had no idea. Wow I mean I’ve got 450 hours and I’m on new game three but that’s literally one of the greatest tips I’ve ever seen. Anyway, I’m gonna go watch the rest of the video, of course.
most boxes with lid are not useful to mess with. but sometimes you can find a key to a locked room, and not have to mess with lockpicking
Found like 6 grenades in one of those damn coolers, so it does payoff to glance at them since they are pretty easy to spot.
God i love offing some spacers, and combing through all the loot
use the mining drill when you max out your lazer skill and you can shred everything regardless of difficulty, the fire damage and how fast it stacks makes everything look weak
Another useful tip about space combat: If you have a whole weapon slot spare, just add a bunch of turrets, but don't give them any power. That way, they're just there if you need them. Give them power, and they'll nuke anything around you while you navigate or flee. Don't give them power, and you can dogfight manually and still take over ships.
Those turrets can really save your bacon if you're fighting multiple enemies at once.
I like the sound of that...
I usually use a suppressor for my 3rd weapon slot should I need to board a ship for a quest or find a ship I’d want to steal.
11:57 toaster oven is such a pain to open. Hahahahaha
just grab the whole oven by holding A on controller (or left button on mouse) to pick up the oven and shake it... you can also spin it while holding it, but i forgot how, i think the trigger buttons on controller.
Yea triggers on console to spin, and click in LS to change the angle of rotation
Can you or did you make a detailed, step-by-step video on how to capture ships in space? I have yet to get one without destroying it and I am having trouble targeting engines(Xbox)...
You have to destroy the engines. The best and sometimes only way is by buying at least one point into the tech tree “Ship Targeting” skill then when the target is locked on hit the button prompted at the bottom of the reticule (big circle with your weapons and speed on it center screen) the a red box pops up with the powers similar to the bottom left UI move to engines and shoot. Low enough enemies may die before their engines do.
As coreyb6134 said, you need to have 1 point in ship targeting. Then install an EM weapon (usually have suppressor in the name of the weapon) on your ship, use it in targeting mode, and target their engines.. They do far more damage to ship modules (engines, shields, grav drive, etc.) with little damage to the ship overall. Some people claim EM weapons are more effective if you take out their shields before targeting their engines with the EM but I have not had any issue targeting their engines right from the start of combat. Also, if there are multiple ships, it is best to take out the other ships before disabling the ship you want to capture.
It has been on my to-do list for a while, I'll try and get something up
@@TheBeardGuysIve had times when the engine is down but don't get a prompt to board. I press board button and then it does it.
The unattached modules one seems so obvious I can't believe I didn't think of it😂
I've given up on a modification because I couldn't find the unattached module... This tip would have been nice to know then lol
@@robbie6625 same!
does ship farming works like xp farming on higher planets ?! (i understand that it works when u first travel there on vry hard difficult, save the game, and load with a lower difficult ? the ships / monsters still high lvl but way easer to farm) ..
Hi does this gameplay from Xbox series X or PC. And if its on Xbox how it runs so smooth?
Please do chapter/time segments for your tips. Thanks.
Hmm they were added but seem to have broken, will fix
Fixed now, sorry about that
Idk about those being the “best ship weapons” but they’re definitely very good
One point in their favor, every weapon unit mounted on your ship adds 0.5 to the crew capacity for a ship. So if you have up to 9 Crew Stations you'll also need enough ship systems to get a matching capacity. 9 is all you need though, since your Ship Command skill is limited to 8 assigned crew with Sarah Morgan being a bonus 9th added for free due to her innate Leadership skill. B Class vessels might need Vanguard gear to hit the 9 crew mark.
Nice video! But how do you get 41 points on your ship? I got a class C reactor with only 29 points as max..
At level 60 you unlock two 40 power reactors. With Sarah in your crew you gain +1 power. That's how you get a 41 power reactor.
@@mnspstudioful ah I didn’t know that. Thanks for sharing!
I have 1 point in the aneutronic fusion skill on the bottom of the science tree, which gives me + 1 power, and I'm using the 104DS Mag Inertial Reactor, which does 39 power (class B). It takes Piloting 3 and Starship Design 4 so I guess it probably unlocked at level 60 or near there (level 60 is needed to unlock all ship pieces). No crew buffs adding any.
I have a more detailed video on ship building going out in a couple of days, and could also do a step-by-step build at some point if people were interested.
To get the most out your reactor: Aneutronic Fusion skill at the bottom of the Science tree gives you +5 power, having Vasco or Andromeda on the ship provides another +1 due to their NPC version of the skill, Sam Coe and Omari Hassan provide a free pip of power to Engines and Shields respectively. Altogether that functionally gives you an extra 8 units of power; so 48 with the top of the line C Class reactors.
Funny thing about fast travel. You technically don’t even need to be on your ship. You can be roaming a planet open the starfield map and fast travel to a different planet or Star system. Making space flight basically useless. I remember being on the lock in kryx and then fast traveled to the lodge in sol. This helps skip all the loading out and into systems, the same cutscenes of your ship launch and docking or landing. One load screen compared to 4-6.
On the flipside, if you're overencumbered you can still fast travel the moment you sit in the pilot seat. This is useful if you're hauling a few thousand units of resources, maybe to set up a new Outpost or something.
There is still stuff to do in space. So still useful to me.
How do you make the number of damage to show up when you shoot something?
It's an option in the settings. It's set off by default, easy to set on. I do like having that.
Ever since I entered NG+ I no longer get Legendary items, even on very hard. I only see Rare. I haven't seen a Legendary in NG+.
Tip 1,2
the missile launchers really aren't great weapons overall. I prefer to use the vanguard autoprojectors, the auto helion particle beam, as well as the vanguard autocannons. The autocannons also allow 6 weapons, once I'm through shields it takes quite literally a second or two of firing the autocannons, while the particle beams easily deal with shields on a single pass. would also recommend playing around with using less ship engines while still maintaining mobility if you can. I'm using 3 of the Dunn engines like in yours with my most recent ship and now I get more power to allocate to weapons. got 2k cargo, C class 40 power reactor and 1500 base shields. the extra power to weapons really does make a difference..... gunna have to try make one with just 2 engines soon and try keep the mobility. :D
3320 (I think is the name) particle beam is pretty decent as a secondary to the auto helion beams or whichever you prefer. They fire infinitely and you can run 4 of them. Good sustained dps imo.
Missiles are a bit better with Targeting Systems. Or at least, some of them can be cheap to fire in that mode while dealing decent damage. The part that is silly about them is how they have 4,000 range but require a lock on that doesn't occur until about 2,000 range. But you can still use them at 4,000 distance for mining asteroids I suppose.
What ship is that man?? MUST HAVE!!!
I made it!
Yeah this game sure needs a zoom out in spaceship asap.
I just console command 1 million credits into the NPC’s inventory lmao
Zoomed out is definitely a bug😂😂😂 Bethesda for ya
OOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGG There is a select all option in the ship builder. It doesn't label it on PC but there is an option to do it. How the world did the game never tell us this was available!!!!
On PC you just double-click a module and it will highlight everything attached.
3000+ damage with the magsniper 😎👉
wow that first tip is the snorefield experience explained fast travel to a place twice to actually get there and people wonder why some are not into it. thanks for the video duder.
Legendary armor often inside of toilets. Lift all lids!
Genius or genius troll, either way I'm impressed
Armor? Nah. You can find Emergency Kits in toilets though.
People still play that loading screen simulator game?
Auto weapons do not need full power
Apparently, you don't know me very well :)
12 out of 12 but i did learn that VPNs are still selling ...
The hidden "charge" functions on weapons is a pretty good indicator of stuff not being designed well. Normally you'd give the player some kind of feedback to indicate that function.
What if I told you that there is some more built into the weapons, a specific mission teaches you about charged shots on one weapon, and that posters and marketing for weapons in game also could key the player in on a charged fire mode. Im not gonna disagree with you lol, the game doesn’t explain a lot of stuff, but some people find that charming. If that isn’t your thing then you obv go online and learn everything you can
It’s called “depth” bro. Who hurt you? All the things to be upset about and you gone die on THAT hill?
I didn't know about the ship thrusters till like lvl 30. Was wondering why I was frozen in time when turning
Just started playing and I accidentally sold an epic gun that had a lightning stat with it….. and backed out of sale… couldn’t buy it back.
Can you get addicted to Amp?
I've been smashing a lot of it and not had any issues yet, don't know 100% though
I don't understand this game sometimes. I randomly will get the guards after me for no reason and a bounty. Sometimes even when just moving a trashcan to look in a toilet or box for items. It's really irritating to have to reload my saves because I'm wanted for no reason.
'Moving a trashcan' - Found the reason!
Unlike previous games just attempting to move an item marked with a 'steal' icon causes a bounty. So, how to get around this? Use a SECOND ITEM to move the item with the 'steal' icon. E.g. want to steal some mag weapons from the store in HopeTown, drop a book and use that to knock the weapons off the shelf and sweep them into the bathroom where no one can see you take the weapon.
@XoRandomGuyoX Trashcans/movable objects don't have a steal icon. There is nothing showing me "Steal" when moving objects. I'm on Xbox by the way, so I can't move items that can be picked up and placed into my inventory. Trashcans and tissue boxes, napkin holders, etc. can't be placed into my inventory but I can hold the "A" button for a couple seconds to lift it up.
ive found potatoes and digipicks in toilets sometimes
Why can't we have a land vehicle 😐
Best way to play is never buy or steal anything from the merchants. Buy ship parts, nothing else ever.

Pretty sure guns are bugged as I have zero perks in combat or anything related to guns:
Yet I have a 89phys beowolf legendary that does random fire and random knock back. Nothing else damage related.
It melts everything with ease. Teramorphs? Might as well be unarmored humans with this gun.
I have guns with better stats and perks that don't touch this gun. I have no idea why it melts people but in a pinch it's literally saved my life several times. 🤷♂️
Can anyone explain? Full streams available to see the gun yourself.
Also this is without any sneaking at all. Middle of combat still melts everything with ease.
DoT effects work really well on things like Terrormorphs that have a large pool of HP as they do a % of the target's max health per second rather than a specific # of damage per tick.
@@jgalt99 thing is the fire rarely procs 🤷♂️
It eats health on anything I shoot. Every shot. Honestly don't even need the fire to proc, as they're usually dead before it does 🤣
Idk, then. Definitely bugged unless you're on very easy. On VH the lvl 90+ terrormorphs are several magazines with maxed out skills, 10k or so health.@@ItSnowsInHell
@@jgalt99 on normal. I'll test some when I get on today but it's currently my go to "get out of death" gun. Immediately saved my ass in a pinch.
Got Sarah with a decent microgun she usually melts people with and I can out melt her sometimes and the Beowolf is single fire 🤣
I LOVE that you're doing Starfield now instead of PUBG, but I can't watch any of these! No spoilers!
Selling ships is a poor way to make money, not worth the time investing in stealing. This is because registering costs so much money.
You should give credit to all the people you stole this information from while lurking on reddit.
my man, let me be frank here; that spaceship looks like dog water. i honestly think you should take a look at my ship build. It has more or less the same feel as yours, but looks tons better with way better stats.
Trust me on this.
I want it to land me on the planet and NOT PUT ME OUT OF MY SHIP. I want to travel, not just click, oh I am there. That is great for when you have limited time, but it shouldnt be the default action. I would rather pull the map up, pick where I want to go, leave the map, then actually do what I need to travel. The way the game is now is very broken. You technically dont even really need your ship CAUSE IT SERVES NO PURPOSE.
Loot drops are yet another way this game is a step down from previous Bethesda titles.
Used to be when you looted someone you got what they had on them, stripping them down to their underwear.
Hear they have gone for random loot, rng'd at death, which encourages save-scumming.
You could always go back to a save before you entered the area. but this trash mechanic is the bane of all games that have it.
best tip right here: uninstall
