smile at Chuu Hellooooo So I do that too but I also have only 2 mirrors and they are not really helpful. one tip that I can give you is to learn the choreography without mirror in a room in your house (if you don't have a gym room or dance room you could do it at) and then film yourself and watch it. you can see yourself fully and compare it to the actual dance and see what you have to improve
Lily hahahaha I am so the same... I have been going to a ridiculous number of classes in the past few weeks to help fix this issue.. check my vlogs if you need help
YES SAME sometimes also when I am at my drama club and we take a break or I'm not on stage I will just randomly start doing the choreo I'm learning 😂😂😂 or when I'm with my friends or I'm waiting for something 😂😂😂
I have a dance group audition tomorrow and im so nervous. We have to learn a choreography in just 60minutes, and im super slow on things. Thanks for the tips, i hope they work! c:
My one tip that I use to help me perform moves that I'm trying to learn correctly is to visualise. Visualising the move is a different method of reinforcing the choreography and helps you actually remember the moves. It is a skill that you can improve.
samarztk It just means to imagine yourself doing the dance move your trying to learn and imagining how it would feel moving the appropriate way that matches the way the dance looks. No need to be rude.
'We've all seen those hip hop dancers who pick up dancers ridiculously fast' Did you mean: Lisa Rhee (I know she doesnt dance hip hop specifically but cmon, releasing a dance cover THE DAY a new song gets released?)
I do agree and I'm not a hater of her but just to be honest yes she does cope up with the choreo faster even the song just got release but she sometimes don't execute some of the moves properly nor some of them weren't executed. I do follow her and a fan of her but I just notice that when she uploads new videos. This is just an honest opinion of mine please don't hate

My tips are: listen to the music on repeat until it drives you nuts. Not knowing what's coming next on the song is an extra thing to add to your worries. Knowing the song super well makes it much easier to remember which moves link to each moment. Second, people said this humorously in the comments, but practicing in your head DOES work. It's not enough to just practice in your head of course, but it will help remove hesitation. You will then just need to work on cleaning the physical aspects of the movement. I also like giving unnamed steps or combos a name in my head. It helps when you can think "next comes the up-and-down snake" or something like that
SAme and I have very minimal experience in dance. That experience is me danceing alone in my living room when everyone is gone, including my cat. She judges me.
Visualization works so well for me. If you get frustrated trying to pick up the choreo, sit down, listen to the song in the speed you're currently practicing it in, close your eyes, and see yourself dancing to it, then add the details and stuff and before you know it you'll have it memorized. Idk if I explained it well but hopefully you guys understand haha
I have A natural feeling to move good, but pick up on a whole choreography is hard for me. I often subconsciously change style between, because it feels like overwhelming when I start to stress on it, because of perfection. Thank you for this nice tips.
Them: "take multiple classes" Me: *looks at my wallet* I can't even go to a dance class how can I even go to multiple classes😅😅. Sad life of a poor person
That is actually sad... What area are you in? Do they have camps where you can pay in installments? Alternatively, there are lots of online video training courses that are much more affordable that you can practice with in the comfort of your own home x I can help you find some if you need x
Expanding dance vocabulary by doing every dance possible, feeling the dance, and thinking about your next move rather than staring at the teacher helps. It's really hard to use both brain and physical activity at the same time, though, since exercise relaxes the brain though

You guys are awesome! I am almost 40, and it I love dancing, but I get really discouraged for not being able to keep up the pace, specially with young people. It is very frustrating! But, all the tips you guys are giving are so so useful I feel hope. Some people are really good remembering and connecting to their muscle memory right away. Some of us need more rational thinking involved first. I just want to say, excellent job you are doing! Amazing gifted teachers! Thank you!!
So I’m 16 and I’m completely self taught and pretty much only freestyled and I went to my first master class and everyone picked up the choreography what I thought insanely fast and when we had to perform it in small groups it was just embarrassing
I’m just a beginner in dance, but I like to get the basics from Just Dance choreographies. For me, it’s great to visualise the choreography. Because the dance was on the screen, it got way easier for me to get the combos right since I can play the video in my head when I’m not following right from a screen. This way I learned the “difficult” labelled dances in about 3 tries without having to focus on “opening” my mind to learn the choreography.
I actually started dancing and maybe I’m in no place to say anything about dancing but envisioning myself doing the move that I’m struggling with is just makes everything easier for me. So i can recommend doing that
Hey Steezy. I just came back from a workshop. In the workshop, I followed your instructions. We were taught two choreographies. Sadly I wasn't good enough in the first choreography, but I did really well in the second one. Your tips helped a lot. Thank you so much.
Im so proud of them, just IMAGINE showing these two a current video of Steezy. They are really making their own dreams come true. Congratulations you guys, on a personal level. Inspiration really.
Dance tryouts are coming up and I'm so nervous, I didn't make it last year by two points and I think it's because I didn't know the choreo well enough, it was a really fast paced dance with different styles of dance thrown in there and we had to learn it in three days, hopefully this year I'll be ready
I like how this is so entertaining to watch but doesnt go so off topic and you explain it so well. Most channels i know tell you what to do but dont clarify or explain it and its just a blur. Thank youuuu Steezy
2019 here! Def was kicking myself this past weekend when I took my first workshop in over a year then immediately auditioned for the crew that was teaching it. GAHD rust is real.
liked the video before i watched it.yes i love steezy's videos with choreographers where they give tips about the class and vids like this in general!! yes!! more please!
i’m in love with your guys’ vibe haha also i’m trying out for cheer and we have to learn a 2.5 minute dance and i don’t have any experience so this is really helpful :)
I don't take dance classes, but I would really like to learn some. There's a three minute dance I'm trying to learn, and it's pretty difficult, but just breaking it down makes it easier.
These tips actually work really well. I had an audition for a high school production of Chicago recently and we had 30 ish minutes to learn a combo from Hot honey rag (like the only song with no lyrics) and it went half decently other than the fact that the combo was difficult for the pure fact that it was fossy. One tip I can add is equate every move to a word if possible.
when i learn kpop dances from the mirrored version of the dance practice, i watch a section (verse, chorus, etc.) a few times first. then, i try to mirror the moves in normal speed. after that i put it on 0.75x and do the moves. when i get comfortable with it, i put it back to normal speed and try to do it again until i memorize the whole section. then i clean, record myself, clean, and done :)
Wow I have a dance audition next week and I just had the first choreography session and the only one besides another short one the day before the audition and the problem I have is the choreography is fast and really sharp and it's one thing after another and you don't even have time to think about what to do! Lol
Tip #5 is probably the best step I've ever followed because in my 10 years of dancing I explored many choreographers dance styles ranging from Bam Martins swagger to Brian Puspos deep meanings , I personally connect more with Brian's style so yeah hahahahaha im glad this tip was featured
First video I saw of yours. You are both very entertaining and cute. I searched “how to learn CZcams choreography” after watching a bunch of impressive and polished dancing videos. Tried in vain to teach myself and this is the first I’m learning there are actual online classes. I am so stoked to get my agoraphobic ass dancing at home with my dogs. Thank you.
Recently took a dance call workshop and I was terrible!!! I realized that I need to be studying dance continually not just showing up at auditions and expecting to get it. DUH. I'm so excited to start taking classes on your channel.
This was so helpful because I usually pick up choreography when I’m with other people who actually go through the same things and know that choreography. I can’t usually do this at home without calling a friend and I hate bothering people on their own time
I just started dancing at home , I'm 19 btw .. A tip learn the first two or three steps get used to it and then try the rest of the steps two or three at a time
me and a group of girls have a talent show audition tomorrow, we have to dance and I'm so scared. I'm the team leader and I keep thinking we won't do that good or we will mess up steps. hope this helps and we get into the finals!
Choreography's that I learn in a month BLACKPINK:Boombayah,as if it's your last,ddu-du-ddu-du,forever young. Lisa(Blackpink):Swalla,Attention,I like it. MY secret is to try as hard and be positive about your self try it as many times you can and dont give up and use the tips from the vídeo am not in a dance institution,I learn all those choreography's in my house Saranghae
My steps to learning choreo ( I mainly learn Choruses but this works for other parts as well ) is to find a dance cover MIRRORED so that I’m not learning the dance inverted (done many times) and to watch it over and over to visualise and catch the little moments. Then I start playing the video and following along, I replay the video over and over while doing the moves, I also slow down the video to 0.75/0.5 and learn it. Finally I turn it to the original speed and practice picking up My pace, make sure I have all the moves and then do the dance without the video over and over in a mirror. With this method I have learnt blackpink whistle (verse 1,bridge and chorus) blackpink dduddudu (chorus) blackpink KTL (chorus) blackpink HYLT (both Choruses) Twice alcohol free (verse1,intro,chorus) twice what is love (chorus) twice scientist (chorus) twice cheer up ( only a few moves) and a few other moves, i am working towards learning a whole song so leave sum suggestions on what I should learn xx
one tip i can say is start learning easy dances like example i learn kpop dances so i started from how you like that blackpink then after i did kill this love blackpink after i did taeyeon spark so i just went with easy dances until i got the hang of it theni started more medium dances im still not a proffesional but im good enough that i can give advice so hope this helps btw watching alot of dance videos or dance covers can help alot so try it baiii
This is super helpful. Thanks! I'm definitely that person who's like: can we practice that again...for maybe the next 20 times?? The third tip - I'm scared about doing but I need to just not watch anything and feel the music instead of being so fixated on getting it "right."
I started dancing at the age of 13. And i am not experienced that time. But when i started dancing because of a friend, i realized i love dancing. I have a mirror but sometimes i just really dont know if i look good whenever i dance or if im not too stiff. I cannot tell. I ask my friends who saw me dance and they said im legit good at dancing. I say thank you but inside my head i dont really think i am. Though whenver i look in the mirror, sometimes it looks good, the dance, but there are times it looks bad, like wuuutttt!! My routine when dancing is watching it first many times and then doing it in front of the mirror. I can do it. Its just that i dont know if its good. Heeeelllpp
i try to make a visual story of the movements. for example, an eight count of movements might look like: chop the block, comb my hair, fan myself, brush my shoulder, point to the crowd, pose, etc. then I try to visualize a scene where i'm doing those movements and why I would do those movements in sequence

Great tips and you two are so funny!
This is super helpful. Thanks! I'm definitely that person who's like: can we practice that again...for maybe the next 20 times?? The third tip - I'm scared about doing but I need to just not watch anything and feel the music instead of being so fixated on getting it "right."
This really helps thanks for posting this video guys!!!
You just ossam 😁
Thanks so much🙏
I started dancing at the age of 13. Heeeelllpp
I like the subtle plug
i try to make a visual story of the movements. for example, an eight count of movements might look like: chop the block, comb my hair, fan myself, brush my shoulder, point to the crowd, pose, etc. then I try to visualize a scene where i'm doing those movements and why I would do those movements in sequence
You guys are hilarious! Love this and thank you!
