Welcome to the 2024 California Investment Forum Recap! The 2024 California Investment Forum, held in May, was a major event in global technological innovation and business development. Over four days, it facilitated the exchange of ideas and investments in California and worldwide. Key participants included CalPERS, UC Investments, Google, and emerging AI, biopharmaceutical, and clean energy companies. Representatives from numerous countries highlighted the forum's international reach. Notable speakers like CalPERS CEO Marcie Frost and UC Investments' Steven Sterman discussed investments and AI applications, while Google showcased AI's impact across industries.
With over 40 speakers and panel discussions on AI, sustainable energy, and healthcare innovation, the forum fostered knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking. Technological innovation in AI, biotechnology, clean energy, and the digital economy was highlighted through speeches and workshops. Success stories, like a Silicon Valley company securing government subsidies for sustainable energy, enriched the discussions. Daniel Sieu, chairman of the California Investment Forum Committee, and Dustin McDonald from the Governor's Office, emphasized California's role as a global innovation hub. The forum awarded excellence in AI, green energy, and healthcare. Nearly 60 companies applied for the Innovation Award, with nine winners honored by California Treasurer Fiona Ma and Controller Malia Cohen. The award gala featured a performance by Rebecca Holden. As the world's fifth-largest economy, California's technology, top universities, Hollywood, music platforms, and real estate investment contribute to its global economic role. The CIF committee is committed to fostering global technological progress and business collaboration. The forum aims to enhance investment and partnerships, driving global economic advancement.
We warmly invite all international investors and technology project owners to participate in CIF 2025, apply for the California Investment Forum Innovation Awards, and explore cooperation opportunities. We also extend an invitation to international delegations to visit California to understand the investment environment and explore future collaboration.
