Max power is around 6400. Do not be afraid of the engine noise. It likes high revs
irgendwie kein Unterschied zu meinem T27 1.8 MDS mit 147 PS .. ausser dass ich nicht schalten muss. Tacho Vollgas ist meiner auch nicht langsamer

The engine doesn't really seem to feel comfortable in the left lane. The 2.2L diesel cuts a more confident figure.
Seems like they tuned to run out of power at high rpms, plus long gears don't help the matter either. Such a pity...

They say that in terms of quality and reliability, the Avensis is one of the best in its class.
It is. I bought this model 6 years ago and it still serves me perfectly. Never had any problems.
Before this one I had previous model for about 3 years, and it was maybe even better.
Overall, talking from some 9 years of experience with Avensis, I can assure you that you will hardly find better car for this money.@@BB-mt2xb

@@rutles222 I got the T22 as well but it is getting old. Even though it is very reliable, it has some minor problems. It vibrates a lot when accelerating now, which is really getting on the nerves. What do you think makes it better than this more modern version? I'll update to this soon. The value for price ratio seems extremely good.

@@testtor2714 sorry for late reply. Only thing what makes me prefer t22 is very cheap parts and that u can do everything yourself. Also I think there is better car for the same money than new Avensis

I was thinking my 1.8 is slow... then I saw this and it's even slower... I agree with comments suggesting it feels more like 120PS. 2.0 vtec is flying compared to this POS even in CR-V....

This is not meant to be a fast car, its meant to reach motorway speed in comfort and can cruise at 100mph if need be. Here in UK they are used for taxis, often converted to LPG and are absolute workhorses with every example being 150k+ and above, I found a hybrid version of this that had 306k on the odometer. If you want a fast car, get an E55 AMG that can do 200mph with a simple remap

Hallo. Meiner Meinung. 1.8 Benzin ist kein Sportwagen, es ist notwendig, den Unterboden zu pflegen, um Rost an den Teilen zu vermeiden. Grundsätzlich ein gutes zuverlässiges Auto.

I have Toyota Avensis 1.8 CVT. i could see 220 with it many times. And i wonder is there any speed-limit on the car. Because i felt that it can go faster than 220. I would add that video to youtube but my government can see and punish me, thats why i cant show you:)

T27 has six gears and it was used in the video.
you can pass more of 1,000 km a day and stay a fresh. With audi or bmw and vw you cant have that, that is avensis :) this is car and shasy for long distance, its perfekt

Typische Reisschüssel mit irgendwelchen übertriebenen Leistungsangaben, die in der Praxis niemals eingehalten werden. Das sind vermutlich eher 110-120 PS. Ich hatte mal einen 2.2 D-CAT, der auf dem Prüfstand gerade mal 141 PS statt der angegebenen 177 PS gebracht hat. Toyota hat aber jetzt eingesehen, dass sie einfach keine vernünftigen Motoren bauen können und kaufen deshalb bei BMW ein. Trotzdem steht für mich fest: Nie wieder Toyota :)
dafür beschummelt Toyota nicht seine Kunden mit irgendwelchen untertriebenen Abgaswerten.
Bei BMW eingekauft wurden nur die Diesel, die im Übrigen nicht besser sind, als die toyotaeigenen Diesel... im Gegenteil!
Toyotas Benziner sind immer noch erste Liga, nicht unbedingt, was Leistung angeht, aber bezgl. Zuverlässigkeit und Langlebigkeit. Da haben die arroganten deutschen Autobauer noch viel nachzuarbeiten.
Naja, er ist mit 205 angegeben, und schafft Tacho 210 also in echt wahrscheinlich 200... Ist für 150ps zwar nicht besonders schnell, man muss aber auch dazu sagen das z b. VW Konzern Autos auf m Prüfstand oft etwas mehr Leistung haben, und BMW relativ das was sie haben sollen, also auf keinen Fall weniger. Das gerade Turbodiesel bzw allgemein turbo Fahrzeuge öfter weniger Leistung haben liegt auch oft an einer falschen Ladedruck Regelung. Aber an sich sollte ein Auto eigentlich die Leistung haben die drauf stehen oder mehr, weil der normal Kunde sich ja auch nicht damit beschäftigt welche Marke nach oben und welche nach unten streut. Definitiv wird aber ein VW Kunde meistens von der Leistung überrascht sein (weil sie ja eigentlich höher liegt wie auf dem Papier) und das macht natürlich einen guten Eindruck, so nach dem Motto der VW Motor ist besser, dabei hat er halt einfach mehr Leistung was aber ja nichts mit der Haltbarkeit etc zu tun hat. Ist halt eine schlaue Strategie 😁
Der avensis ist nicht für Rennen da. Der sechste Gang ist bei meinem extra so ewig übersetzt das ich zwar keine 220 schaffe aber dafür bis 180 bequem fahre. Die Motoren von Toyota sind mehr als zuverlässig und fallen nach 400.000 nicht einfach auseinander wie so mancher deutscher Motor. Wer mehr Leistung will steigt auf lexus um.
Wurde der 2.2 D-CAT auf einem normalen Rollenprüfstand gemessen? Automatik oder manuell?
@@svmarad Rollenprüfstand. Den 2.2 mit 177 PS gab es nicht als Automatik. Der 2.2 D-CAT mit Automatik hat 150PS. Und ja, es ist wirklich ein D-CAT. Das ist noch mal ein anderer Motor als der 2.2 D4-D ohne D-CAT, trotz identischer Leistung.
Such a weak and slow car! It is way slower than what the numbers suggest! Another rubbish engine by Toyota!
Toyota engines are incredibly durable. The engine on its own is great, but the avensis is pretty much too heavy for that. On the lower end it is by no means weak though. And the "low" top speed comes from a long translated 6th gear. This car is made for familys and its made to last. Unlike german counterparts.
