I am a popcorn popper in a concession stand. It's interesting to see how the kernels are produced. Trust me, you think it would be a dream job to pop the popcorn, but after about my sixth or seventh batch, the smell of it cooking makes my stomach starts rolling and yet I still will have one of the bags I made. LOL

I hope you're not eating too much of microwave popcorn. The chemical "butter" flavoring they use on the inside of microwave popcorn bags is really toxic if you inhale a lot of it. It's much tastier and healthier to make your own popcorn from popcorn kernels on the stove :D

I remember when I was a little boy, my mother would buy kernel popcorn that was multi colored. The popcorn would still be white but it would have a colored center. If my memory serves me right, they were yellow, red, blue and green. I wonder if they still make it? I’ll look for it next time when I go to the market.

In the past, we would pick ears of popcorn from a local farm. You would allow the ears to dry for a while. Then you could put an ear in a paper bag and microwave - presto ez popcorn!

I am a popcorn popper in a concession stand. You would think its a dream job, but after several batches, the smell starts to make my stomach roll. It is cool to watch it pop, but it sure as hell isn't fun when you accidental make contact with the hot kettle or the hot oil splatters on your hands or arms
leave your popcorn in the freezer before you cook it. pops almost all the kernels.
I'll have to tell my mom about this trick.

I used to work in a cinema, and they used to order a huge bag of popcorn that cost them $0.40 per huge bag, and yet they sold it for $4 per popcorn box, cinemas are making huge profit on those! and other food!

Popcorn was originally made by Native American people, along with cornbread, corn was 1 of their major crops, native Americans harvested better then a lot of other cultures, and was one of the main jobs taught by them( cropping/planter/gardening, med making all from crops😁!.)

Many crops were indigenous to the Americans and the rest of the world did not have them, until America's "discovery". This segment should be revised to include “mushroom” popcorn, which is a variety that pops mostly round, which gives it a better surface area for seasoning, which is why you see it in those flavored popcorn tins and tubs.
This variety shown is mostly for consumers (microwave and kettle) and movie theatres.
