    Absolutely.. Denmark here .. I have been watching and learning from your videos, a lot while I used ST. But then I switch to Homey, a couple of years ago and I have never looked back.. I find it much more reliable, and much easier to make automation, in Homey, Flows...
    Best regards from Denmark 👍👍👍

      Hi Big Jim. I didn’t realize that you made the switch. I’m definitely intrigued with Homey Pro. We’ll see where this adventure takes me.

    Bud, really nice coverage on setting up a using the Homey Pro. I was also thinking about maybe shifting off SmartThings to the Home Pro. I’m tired of wondering if I need an edge driver to enable devices that now work poorly with SmartThings. Homey Pro seems to be overpriced but if it gives better performance & worry free connection to my devices, I’d consider it as an option to go forward with.

      Hi Dan. Yes, I’m finding the Homey hub very interesting and fun to work with. I have a couple more videos in the works. Stay tuned.

      Hi Bud, a follow up question on Homey Pro. I know your a big fan of SmartThings & now experimenting with Homey Pro. Can you test the same Z Wave device, at the same time with both hubs? Or do you need to exclude the Z Wave device first from SmartThings to be able to test it on the Homey Pro? Thanks, your definitely one of the de facto YT channels that give excellent device on SmartThings.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi Dan . Z-Wave devices must be exclusive to a single hub. Therefore you would need to exclude the device from SmartThings to be able to add it to the Homey Pro hub. There is an alternative way to view and control your SmartThings devices within Homey. This is done with an "unofficial Homey Community app" called "SmartThings 2". With the SmartThings 2 app installed you must then generate a PAC (Personal Access Token) for your SmartThings account. I have produced several Homey content videos that I have scheduled for later release. One of these videos which I have scheduled for March 23rd shows the details of setting up the "SmartThings 2" Homey app. Here is the link to Homey Community Forum Guide for installing the SmartThings 2 app: tinyurl.com/y5wy65ks assuming you want to attempt this approach on your own.

    Homey Pro will not pair with WEMO or Meross devices and I have a lot of them! The apps on Homey Pro only show EU outlets? What did I miss? Is there a version for USA?

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  Před 5 měsíci

      Did you install the Meross app? homey.app/en-us/app/com.meross/Meross/ There are several devices supported by that app. I do not see an app for Wemo devices. There is currently no support for several US devices, however I expect support to increase as the hub grows in popularity. I sent an email to the developer asking about the status of support for US smart plugs.

    Bud, when I looked it didn't have a Kwikset app? I'd consider the Homey Pro if it can add my Kwikset smartlocks along with the functionality of adding and deleting user codes like the Smartthings "Smart Lock Guest Access". Do you have any smart locks in your home?
    Secondly, Did you try to add the Third Reality vibration sensor. It wasn't in the list of Third Reality devices when I looked.
    Tom

      @BudsSmartHome  Před 5 měsíci

      Tom, Thank you for your questions. I could not find support for Kwikset locks. I checked Homey's Apps and the Community Store Apps. According to this link from Reddit (6 months ago), Kwikset locks are still unsupported. www.reddit.com/r/homey/comments/147ca3t/comment/jt66cl6/?context=3
      I have the UltraLoq U-Bolt Pro Z-wave deadbolt. I have not tried to connect it to Homey but I doubt that it has support. It is going to take awhile before many of these devices are integrated with Homey. Right now it appears that mostly EU and Asian manufactured devices have the most prominent support.
      As for the TR Vibration sensor, I just unpaired my sensor from ST and the attempted to pair it with Homey. It easily paired. It is displaying as a "Vibration Sensor. It works fine and is very responsive. The alarm display as a "Generic Alarm". It also displays the Battery type, (2x AAA) and the battery level percentage.

      According to the Homey Community Forum the UTec Ultra-Loq Z-wave Pro deadbolt is not supported. The Community post here: community.homey.app/t/u-tec-ultraloq-u-bolt-pro-z-wave-not-connecting/85778

      @@BudsSmartHome Bud, Thanks for the info. Glad to see the vibration sensors was recognized. I have 4 Quikset smart locks so I'll wait till it's a little more mature in the US market.
      Thanks for the review and info.

      @@BudsSmartHome I may get the Homey Pro and move most lights, plugs, sensors and the routines associated with them from Smartthings but leave the Kwikkset locks, door contact sensors and sirens for home monitoring until Homey Pro adds support for those devices. I've reached the "soft limit" on my Smartthings hub so it's time to consider alternatives. I'm looking forward to you post on "bridging" Smartthings and Homey Pro.

    I can't invest in such an expensive hub if they don't have the new z-wave 800 chipset. Also the ethernet should be build-in and not a dongle. one thing i hate about z-wave is that I need to scan the QR code, might be a good idea if homey can save the keys and use them again instead of forcing us to scan QR code every time we want to pair again for one reason or another.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thank for commenting @FawziBreidi. The hub is certainly pricey, I'll grant you that. It does come with the 700 series z-wave radio rather than the z-wave 800 chipset, as you stated. I suspect it is because Z-Wave 800 series launched in 2021. I cannot comment about the "need to scan a QR code for z-wave devices". This was not a requirement when I add devices using the z-wave protocol. I agree that the ethernet should be built in the hub.

      I think this is a very powerful hub since it's web app allows you to make almost anything with their advance flows feature. I also congratulate you Bud for creating content with this new Hub, I really think you should consider changing to Homey cause I found smarthings been unreliable with some routines. Can't wait to watch more content about this Homey pro hub

      @@aeroflack ~ It's a very capable hub. However it currently lacks support for many devices. The list of compatible devices is continuing to grow. I really enjoy the process of advanced flows and I will be creating more content in the process.
