3 idiots is one of the classic movie of this modern era.. and this movie "Nanban" is the very honest remake of the original. Methodically this film transfers the same kind of energy, emotions, love, and the entire feel to Tamil audiences which 3 idiots created on the north.
I truly love both the films❤️❤️
One annoying addition in the Tamil remake is that belly song .
Original 3 idiots didn't had any song in that situation . Shankar who is obsessed with glamorous songs intentionally added that song.
Imo that belly song diluted the classiness of the otherwise good remake .

The first few lines are love in different languages...And more importantly the song taken in different way of love in different song type like morden ,village,king etc.. it resemble it.
Shankar made this song as a spoof of his songs structure in his earlier films. First garden song, then modern song, then king/queen song, and last folk song.
Think 1st gardern = Kumari song from Anniyan
2nd Modern = Kannum Kannum from Anniyan
3rd King/Queen = Vaji Vaji from Sivaji
4th Folk = Andankaka from Anniyan
Since Nanban was a remake of 3idiots I saw very little of it.. i am seeing this song for first. Shankar stamp . And u caught on Rajini song..that was also directed by Shankar I think shots were a tribute to Shankar old songs last train shot was tribute to Shankar-Vikram Anniyan movie song

Starting with a "Foreign location song", a "Modern Song", a "King Song" and a "Folk Song". U can catch these from the movies like "Sivaji - The Boss", "I"/"Boys" and "Anniyan".
Yess! This movie is my favourite movie of all time... i haven't seen 3 idiots.. so i dont know how it compares, im guessing 3 idiots has a more realistic approach,but still this is a great movie.. u guys should watch it

Rick great observation, throughout the whole music video, the music is completely linked with the video and follows the beat to a tee.
This song has great percussion works which nobody notices. 3 different beats repeating one after another throughout the song
I think everyone could hear it. Rick also mentioned the steps coordinating with those beats and also commended the overall aesthetics (both visuals and the audio).

All this time I was under the assumption that he enjoys being an unlikable person.
That's why i stopped supporting them, Rick was so biased and narrow minded in his reviews, especially classical dance, he'd compare it to Odissi all the time even if it was Kathak Or Kuchipudi, Rick is just downright infuriating. Came back to see how they're doing but looks like they haven't changed much. Really liked them before they hit one million
I just realised after korbin pointed out that Shankar visualised this song picking up from elements from his older movies for each scene. Not sure of the first one - perhaps from Boys - Ale Ale? but it also resembles pookale satru oyvedungal song but that came three years after though. Second one was Indian - akadaanu naange song. Third was Shivaaji - Sahara saaral song. Last was Anniyan - Andakaakka kondakaari song. Such a genius he is!🔥🔥🔥

@Dienas Game 14 Films of Vijay is remake 😂😂😂 from another language in his career. And even though Aamir Khan did remakes he did it better than original in most cases especially the film like Ghajni he did complete justice not like Vijay flying fighter jet without helmet 😂😂

However this song situation is when the main leads fall in love! Same as Zoobi Doobi song! But its not the version or whatsoever! Also Nanban have extra songs for main leads which is 'Irukana Idupu Irukana'! You guys should watch Nanban!

Nanban is a very honest remake of 3 idiots. I loved both versions and watching this Tamil remake by Shankar felt new even though I have watched 3 idiots several times. Aamir is my favourite from Bollywood.
