in terms of cable i have a custom made orbit saga which works great on this. i think this iem works better with cable thats airy and a bit hot on the treble

I just placed an order for the Melodic Artification Alter Ego IEMs before the weekend, and they should be in Monday after work. I'm new to the audiophile grade IEM market. I started out with a Symphonium Audio Crimson IEM a month ago, and it sounds amazing with the Effect Audio Code 24 IEM audio cable. Right now, I'm waiting on a custom Beat Audio Cyclone 8-wire IEM cable order to be made. So, for now, my best cable to use will be Code 24. Lastly, I ordered the Azala Crystal Standard ear tips to use on the Alter Ego when I get it. Thanks. I'm looking forward to listening to hours of music with these new IEMs on my Chord Hugo 2 (on the go) and Chord Hugo TT2 + Chord Hugo Mscaler (at home). I'm really glad these Alter Egos have such a good strong bass.
I think your review was spot on, I am an owner of this exceptional iem and yes the aesthetics are mind blowing. Once you have it in your hands and it is right in front of you, you don't want to put it down. This tad dark compare to Annihilator. Warmer + more tactile bass. This felt more immersive and musical to Anni.
