Not sure if you remember but when my friend died I took his little dog who had been my shadow while at work. Well we finally had to say goodbye to him last week and it's broken my heart. It's like all the grief for my friends come out at the same time. Only time can help there I guess 💕

It's a funny practice for me today.😄 I intended to do this sequence in the morning but there was a blackout here exactly when I stepped on the mat so I had to create my own yoga practice from scratch and I'm probably gonna do this in the evening.
Today's a windy day here where I live. The sun has sometimes creeped out but it's still more like a pre-storm weather despite the sunlight - changing in every minute. What made this morning and my yoga practice intereseting for me is the observation I made. We had a tiny fight with my mom this morning and I tried to notice my feelings and also understand her point instead of being offended for forever. I thought it's gonna be an interesing challenge and experiment: observing how I act when literally everything around me is falling apart, how it affects my practice. I saw my mom getting stressed even more and more (she wanted to bake but the blackout affected everything in our house: the oven, the heating, the lights, the washing machine etc.) which motivated me to be the one with a calm heart and mind despite our fight. Which we discussed after my yoga practice - and the sun started to shine a little brighter, although it sounds really cheesy.😂🌞 Also, the 'blackout problem' has been solved, almost right after our discussion.
It was an interesing coincidence. We had to work out something together (during the blackout) with my mom in case the problem lasts longer than we thought, which allowed us to bond with each other more and in the end the sun creeped out a little bit and we forgave each other. Asking for forgiveness and forgiving each other, it had a magical effect on my bakasana: this morning was the first time I could hold my bakasana four times in a row and for more than a few seconds.💪😁 It really helps a lot if we look at every situation as a state that changes often rather than as something that feels like it's gonna last forever. Because everything changes and we cannot control everything around us. Namasté.🙏

ADMIRE 💖 | February 13, 2024 | Love this heart centered practice! Unlike the last two times we did it, I stayed inside today with my woolly socks on to start. I can't wait until the summer weather returns and I can take my practice outside again. But for now, this was a lovely break in my work day to reset and reconnect! 🙏
Reading my comment on this video from 3 months ago has really hammered home how much things can change in such a short time. I remember being so churned up and worried when I wrote it. Now things haven't really got better, in fact healthwise things are not so great. The difference is in how much more accepting I am that these are things I have no control over. What I can control is my reaction to them. Yesterday my physio gave me a list of things not to do any more. No more squats or lunges and forget training for the 5k run with my grandaughter. BUT he said I can walk it and definitely keep up with the yoga as it's the best thing I can do to keep the muscles strong to support my failing joints. Acceptance changes everything 🥰

4/28, Align, February 2023✅ Today a cold creeped od me and I didn't want to practice because all my bones hurt. But...I did it. For all the aches in my body and it did wonders. Now I am off to sleep. 💪🤞🤍🧘♀️

* 12/23/22: time truly does heal, and I even have off from work on this -10 degree day. breathe, day 22 🫁
* 2/12/23: a reminder and renewal to know that my heart is open to receiving all the goodness I know I deserve. align day 4 ⭐️

I was thinking exactly what Astrid said - I've enjoyed Move so much (SO much....I thought it was perhaps the best yet, Adriene her strongest and most wonderful self, and encouraging/guiding us to be so too) but it's good to be "back" to our monthly calendar as well, and seeing some familiar folks.

@@astridlim5512 I checked in with Gil in November, when I hadn't seen her here for a bit! She was having shoulder problems and had surgery, was recovering - she told me she wouldn't be able to practice with us for a while as she recovered. I missed her during Move, too :). In fact, another thing I have enjoyed the last few days is seeing her comments on our Blossom practices from previous calendars. She has so much to offer and share, and such great perspective.
Anxiety is no fun. My mind is pretty loud right now & I feel overwhelmed with negative thoughts of the future. My heart feels so heavy. I've always kept my thoughts & feelings to myself but YWA is helping me learn to open up slowly. Today is a day I'm grateful for yoga 🙏🏻especially this particular practice.

Your not alone. For me a 30-60 min fast walk and then yoga helps alot when i have days like this :)

Adriene, I fell in love with Yoga via your videos and your approach, not only in technique, but your lighthearted spirit. I love the idea of finding peace in the mundane. I do it everyday. I love to listen to the trees talk to the world and each other. They’re always there waiting for someone to listen. Loving my cat, caring for my garden, drinking coffee or tea, reading, walking (and yoga of course) are my greatest joys. Teaching and talking with children fills my heart and soul. Thanks for reminding me and all of us to appreciate the simple joys, for they really are the greatest.

I'm doing this Feb 22 series after having gone through the 30 day Move series. My goal is Yoga everyday for a year! Big goal and I know a lot can happen in that time but I get so much out of this and everyday I learn more and go deeper. like Adriene said "the pose is one thing, but how you exist in the pose is everything" I love that. everyday, thank you Adriene

Wow my body was fueled by anxiety when I woke up today. My breath was stuck, my heart was racing, my belly hurt. This practice allowed me to slow down, to open up to movement and flow again. Blossom Day 3, love you all 💖✨

Almost 7pm here, and I just finished. I got a late start after riding a bike two hours to the northern part of the city to give it away to a friend. One more task completed before I leave Korea in 12 days. That said, I was so exhausted and fell asleep this afternoon. I could have stayed on the mat forever, but there is still so much to do.

I've had a heavy heart all day, no idea why. I was planning to watch netflix all evening and do absolutely nothing but I pushed myself to do this yoga routine instead. I am glad I dit it. I feel so much lighter now and gained some energy. Thank you Adriene!

This slow, slow practice has left me very calm and thoughtful. It took me through moves with intention. I’m feeling a little stiff in the mornings here in lockdown in England. It seems a long one this time but Spring is coming and I’m looking forward in a positive manner. The days are getting longer, snow is melting and little plants are peeping through. My morning YWA is the perfect way to start each day 🧘🏼♀️🧘🏻♀️🙏💕

I am amazed. The right side of my neck and the area under my right shoulder blade has been in pain for 3 years. I've seen multiple doctors, done MRIs, X-rays, physiotherapy, arthroposophic therapy, regular ol' therapy, massages, and what have you to treat it. I've never felt as pain free as I do in this instant, after this practice in Shift. Thank you so much, Adriene.

ALIGN 🌟 | February 4, 2023 | My intention for today's practice was to allow my spirit to fully enter my body, breath by breath. Felt the heart opening in threading the needle and felt some emotions move through in the crescent lunges. 🙏

Definitely going to be bookmarking this one. I was having a rough day at work and this really helped pick me back up. I think I most enjoyed the opening and closing in thread the needle. Doing the movement with the breath created an interesting bit of challenge for the upper body while really helping to open the chest for deeper breaths. Good morning Adrienne I just read your lovely letter this morning and I decided to do this practice yesterday after I did Dedicate space practice and the moon practise. Something made me feel like I wanted to do something for someone and my little sister had been cooped up indoors due to cv-19 and it's her birthday next month. I drew her a picture of a fairy garden 😍 she is only 9. I spent over 5 hours through the day on it and it felt like it truely came from my heart.

It’s funny how yoga and life work. Coming from Move I was sure I had figured out how my body moves in different poses but today I realized my body can also move deeper and differently in poses too, poses we did nearly everyday in Move and today I found how to go deeper. I love how this practice is not about achieving some massive goal but it’s a space to practice and discover every single day

I love these breathing techniques 'lots of love in and lots of love out', it really helps to somehow get rid of the heaviness in the heart and helps release the tension that is holding the heart back, just phenomenal! I was taken aback by the amount of positive, creative energy I felt during this practice! I loved your thoughts on masculine and feminine energy, I totally agree that everyone has both and it can be expressed in so many different ways. For me, I felt a bit of both, and they blended really well together while doing the thread the needle pose. The masculinity came through with the controlled movement of the twist, and the femininity came through with the softening of my face and fingers while doing it. Felt awesome!

I'm currently struggling a bit with my heart and my health and of course I can't down dog my way out of it but I believe leading with your heart and just imagining a healing light around it doing these poses can still do something
I believe this practice is so beneficial as we continue to navigate our days, in which it may be very easy to create barriers and blockages to protect the heart and avoid the discomfort.

I am a YWA member, and try to follow your daily calendar. Yet, somehow in mid-May, my world became so heavy with work and the burdens of our current world that I stopped. In the past almost two months, I have created those barriers and blockages to protect the heart -- they are false protections, and often very dangerous (e.g. food, alcohol, burying oneself in work). What a beautiful message today Adriene; and a beautiful practice for a Sunday. Your guidance on how to really focus on the heart chakra in each position helped me so much . I've been feeling transition and uncertainty in so many areas of my life and haven't figured out how to release the tension, the worry, the heartache, the fear.
