  • Between 2006 and 2011, I made around 130 half-hour TV shows about caravans and caravanning for a satellite TV channel - called "The Caravan Channel"
I stopped making the shows because I had prostate cancer - now fully resolved, but kept making an online video series, Chris's Caravan Diary.
This clip, which has had loads of views on another channel, has now come back to me, so here it is!

How tall in the inside or the bed length? We are looking to but locally but my husband is tall.

nice :). Is it allowed to drive with the caravan unfolded? Or isn`t it stable enough then?

I towed my first Gobur a few yards, but not a good idea!

very nice! what is the difference to an Esterel? is there a European version, with the door on the right side? When was the lat one made or are they still in production? What is the weight of it? thank you

I'm afraid I'm pretty well out of touch with this scene, but I know they are no longer made. The makers are still in business, but as a seller, not a builder. Here's their website: goburcaravans.co.uk/

Thanks for the video. I'm considering buying one. I can't find any video of a Gobur being dismantled. Do you know of such a video? Want to see if it can be done by one person.

I never did a video of that, but used to erect and drop my original narrow model singlehanded. The wide, as shown, always did with a second person, like Dot as in this clip, essentially to help stabilise things. The boss at Gobur used to put wides up and own on his own with no problems.. At on of the Gobur rallies, I met a very little lady who devised a wind-up jack system to actually wind the roof up and down, and that was excellent - worked well.

at first I thought how clever to have a pop up with solid sides but too much assembling the inside because you can not store items in them conveniently.

How much do you want to store? We carried all we needed for everyday in the fixed cupboards at the kitchen, and in the bed boxes, and once brought home about 20 5-litre boxes of red wine on the floor between the beds. We carried clothes and things in bags in the boot of the car. Take a look at the inside of one to get a proper idea.
