- During our trip to Tokyo, we had the distinct pleasure of talking to Hirota Masayuki, Editor in Chief of Chronos Japan, about one of the city's most extraordinary watch shops - Chrono Theory. On top of that Thomas and Hirota-San chatted about some exceptional timepieces, you won't see every day. Enjoy!

Chrono24 content is so good these days. It has quickly become my favite channel. Please keep it up!
Thank you for following our channel and providing your feedback! :)
Mr Hirota is very knowledgeable, but I particularly like his mix of Japanese and English. Very likable. As for Minase, they are on my favorites list for Chrono24. Very unique style.
Thanks for checking out our video!
*_Chrono Theory._** What a terrific name for this incredible wonderland of micro-brand horology.*
*Great seeing that "Watch Geeks" (and I say that proudly) all bring an infectious, warmth, enthusiasm and expertise for their hobby/profession, no matter where they reside.* 🙌
now i understand that “sorede” is “so then” in english. Almost sound alike too
Masayuki-san's Blancpain is exquisite.
Yamazaki 18 is nectar of the gods.
And hard to get.
Great video. I love this kind of series to focus on the other part of the watch world without rolex or other big brands. Brings so much more light to the shadow.
Yow, Chrono24 is pumping out content that I actually want to watch lately. Well done.
Enjoyed the video. The watches are unique. Makes me want to fly to Japan right now. Thank you for the great interview.
Excellent interview, Thomas, w/ an also equally interesting man. Love that Chrono24 has chosen to set-up shop in, and highlight Tokyo, and japanese culture, surrounding the horological scene within. The Japanese have such a steeped, and rich horological significance, that IMHO, is far to often ignored. Cheers....
Thank you. We were lucky enough to visit for two weeks, but I feel like we only cracked the surface. Like you said, there's a lot to discover.
Thomas - Great video! Thank You for this hidden gem 💥
Recent content has been terrific. Keep it up.
‘Been enjoying your videos, Thomas! And I can’t wait to head back to Tokyo again soon!
You should!
Fascinating video. Thanks for sharing. I think the trip must have been well worth it for you. Hope your head wasn’t too sore and your wallet too empty the following day!
Great video. More of this please
Great video! 😄🙏Maybe you could talk to Masayuki-san about the ghastly marketing Grand Seiko has, starting with the anachronistic logo that uses a gothic typeface (straight from the European middle ages) bearing absolutely any connection to the proud Japanese culture and craftsmanship, while totally opposing the advertised spirit of Takumi that is so well represented in the wonderful finishing of the dials. That logo makes absolutely no sense on a global perspective! Cheers 😊
Thank you for introducing me to that Austrian piece, Carl Suchy & Sohne.
Genius idea 💡. It’s so much easy to sell an expensive watch to a drunk buyer. Brilliant 🤩
Great interview
Cool stuff to admirate while having good whisky ! Cheers
Absolutely! Cheers
great content
So cool.
Good stuff.
I want to go to there. I need to get back to Ginza (open up Japan!!!!)
Brilliant 👏 👏
More than original than creative! nice one!
Thank you! Cheers!
A watch bar? Fantastic
Wow - looks like a cool place - I was in Tokyo last week and wish I saw this video earlier!!!.. I see that the bar is actually by "reservation only" via Line - Japanese only I guesc....
Excellent. Really wanted to see much more from his store. Is there a follow up?
We'll have to schedule a reunion tour!
I hope this video only is a short version or an intro of a longer one. Being in such a wonderful watchbar it should be easy to make a one hour+ presentation .
Such a cool bar.
I live near the Yamazaki distillery and I can’t get Yamazaki any more… I hope you savored every drop of it
Wow, if I am ever in Japan I will have to come here.
Any Nagoya store recommendations?
Looking for vintage Daytona.
Love how he uses それで like an English word.
ね
Got a piece there last June via online. Didn’t realise that the store was so nice
Congrats! Which watch did you get?
@@Chrono24Official got a Maurice LaCroix Aikon - the Watch club Japan LE. Astounding piece for the money.
The Benrus you have on is either the most perfect NOS original example I have ever seen or it’s a reissue which is it?
It's the recent reissue. I love seeing these models come back to life, and the Type I has become my daily beater.
Could you please tell us where the shop is located in Tokyo,or/and the shop name please.thank you
Hi Thomas, may I know what strap you have on your Benrus Type 1, please? Thanks.
Hey Charles - I'm a big fan of perlon straps, and I've got a light gray one here for a monochromatic look.
@@Chrono24Official Nice. I'm sure you have a ton of them. Can you share where you bought them? Thanks
What is the name of the of the shop/bar?
I will visit the watch bar
Thomas Hendricks. What was the GMT you were wearing during the filming of this interview.
Hey Robert, it's the reissue of the Benrus Type I featuring a rotating 12-hour bezel. It's proven to be a pretty handy travel watch.
@@Chrono24Official I was also interested in the nylon strap you have on the Benrus. Where can I find that?
That's a perlon strap, and there are a lot of solid options out there. I like them because they offer the same benefits as a NATO but are a little dressier and allow for micro-adjustments.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
What watch is chrono24 wearing? That sub look alike
what's the name of the watch the host is wearing?
I wish more Japanese brands would use katakana script on the dial instead of English
Agreed! It adds something special to the dial
Awesome video. Any info on the watch stands that looks like little robots? Can they be purchased?
SUCCESS.fratelo.
Lots of “watch people” know of Formex!
Mah! Zannen! Sen shu ginza in ita zo. Ikitakatta!!! 😢
You’ve never seen a Formex before? You’re in the biz. 😐
Not in-person until then, so it was a pleasant surprise. 🙂
Great profile pic btw!
@@Chrono24Official gotcha, that makes sense. Me neither to be honest. 🙂
@@Chrono24Official Thanks! 👍🏼
Does time go slower in Japan?lol
odd, these watches tick half a second.
but....did you buy a watch after drinking? 😃😃
We had to get out of there before that Ophion came for my wallet 😂
It wouldn't be any skin off SEIKO or Rolex's back to service their older watches, they're all so gauging and petty about their abandoned watches.
First commenter, counts for something right?
Wrong, lol.
what are you guys here compare this to? the lowest level?? this videos and interviews are so bad it makes me wanna stop using the ch24 plattform.
A pitty that you do not like the content we are offering. What exactly do you consider as bad when it comes to this specific video/interview? Thanks!
@@Chrono24Official good to see that chrono24 seems to care about negative criticism. all that „everything is great“ comments don’t help at all to do better.
first of all I want to say that I am using the plattform and I never had issues. I make up my own mind and I can’t agree to all those „don’t use chr24“ videos I found online. that aint fair, in my pov. because it’s actually always a seller problem you can’t blame the plattform for. point.
to me, the moderation of the videos is very arrogant and cautionary in a negative way. they imply that the viewers need to be taught.
I also feel that there is much talking but less useful information.
watches are all about having fun and enjoying them. there is no fun in the videos at all.
If I check the big watch channels to see wich contents where successful, it seems that chrono24 is doing the exact same content in their own videos. just years later. teddy, nico, watchfinder,… they did all this way before. to me, that’s copying.
and finally, but I can understand this one, some videos are clearly made to talk us viewers into buying that watch. but I think the selling plattform and the videos should be separated.
that’s it.
but I’m aware that this is just my opinion and no one needs to agree. and I don’t persuade anyone.
