Tremonti has a habit of melting my face every time I hear him play
Mark is so awesome. I got to meet him and Eric Friedman after a Tremonti show a few years back. Such a kind, down to earth dude. Granted, I was freaking out inside because he's my guitar Idol.
It is about damn time for Mark Tremonti
I know right?!
In my humble opinion, he's the best songwriter (lyric and music) of this generation. That might be my own extreme opinion lol
He already did one on Mark.
My favorite guitarist of all time "Mark Thomas Tremonti" of Creed and Alter Bridge🤘🤘🤘
Habits of Marty Friedman, now that would be a pretty cool video!
yes
And Tyler has to pick like Marty.
really its just his way of downward pick slanting, he mosty uses legoto and economy picking/mini sweeps and usually only changes strings after an upstoke so his wrist approach to downward pick slanting helps his out a lot after upstrokes to get enought pick height to change strings fast and fluent.
Playing some notes off tempo deliberately in a nice sounding way. Good luck with that shit.
Synyster gates habits needs to happen.
Interesting - I've never listened to very much of Tremonti's playing, but hearing this I'm realising how strong an influence he is on two of my favourites, Rob Chapman and Rabea Massaad - all those compound major third chords, distinctive single-string riffing, etc.!
Get the ''Alter Bridge feat. the Parallax Orchestra Live at Royal Albert Hall'' dvd/Blu-Ray and prepare to get your mind blown. Not only is Tremonti a beast, but Myles Kennedy is an extremely skilled and tasteful guitarist. The symphonic orchestra also enhances the whole thing.
You nailed that Buried Alive solo at the beginning of the video! \m/
dzonyyya Blackbird is still my favorite Alter Bridge album. Fortress is a very close second.
I'll get slack for this but I thought Creed was a great band I loved Mark's sound ever since
David Stafford who cares what people think. Creed is still the best. I also like alter bridge. But some alter bridge fans get on my nerves, I know they hammer mark about not getting creed back even though it’s his decision
@@illusionfiveofficial exactly I agree with you thanks
I think Creed gets a rap for their singles generally being similar in tone; which is normal. Their back catalog has some great tunes on it.
CREED was Awesome! I remember when they first came out in the 90's. I saw them in 2002 in Phoenix,AZ and they rocked out hard the whole show!
Creed's a good band. It's Scott Stapp that I don't care for. Give me Myles Kennedy any day.
Minor pentatonic and natural minor, yes. There's a good bit of mixolydian in his playing too.
There's also this go-to descending lick you hear in a lot of his solos. Especially early alter bridge.
He has a thing for stacked power chords as well. He seems to write a lot more in 6/8 than usual.
Love how this opened with the intro solo in "Buried Alive". That's one of my favorites from "Blackbird".
Why the inverted commas
You mean quotations? That's what you do when titling names of works outside the realm of books or newspapers.
Tremonti is in my top 5 looking forward to watching this when I’m off work
Tremonti and synyster gates killing it for me right now. These dudes go past shredding to actually writing good music lol.
Habits of Myles Kennedy!
Taylor is not a singer, lmao. Although, Myles has a killer vibrato!
Myles is a great guitar player, I saw where Mark said that Myles can do a lot of things better than he can. Alter Bridge is incredibly talented
@@MikeFox__FoxMan2099 Myles is 10 times the player Tremonti is. Tremonti is highly overrated.
@@chevychevelle5953 I appreciate Mark's humility, I don't know that I think Myles is 10x better, but it's high praise from Tremonti, who is 100x the guitarist I will ever be.
@@MikeFox__FoxMan2099 Wouldn't be difficult to surpass Tremonti. Learn one scale and you'd have more knowledge in theory than he does.
The end of "Cauterize" is one of the best sounding finger playing licks that bring that song together. Mark has a guitar lesson on it to. Bass tones played by fingers and octaves are his signature playing.
This is the one I've been waiting for! Excellent job. It's my favorite. I don't watch many videos multiple times but I'll watch this one a lot.
Your take on a Tremonti style riff was so damn awesome.
Been waiting for this one for a long time. Tremonti is definitely my guitar hero. Great video.
Wow!! That was awesome man!! Mark is one of my favorite guitarists, and since some months I try to figure out his sound...Your Video really helped me a lot!! Thank you really much!!
One of my favourite guitarist ever. Love mark tremonti. Phenomenal guitarist 👍
My brutally honest opinion is that I consider mark tremonti to be the best guitar player in the world today, and music is win has completely justified my point
Man you have so much feel when you're playing love it!!! its making me smile when you are playing i can tell you are having fun XD
Im never getting "Habits of Carlos Santana" :(
metalmadman12804 E minor pentatonic, diatonic notes, not too much vibrato and off beat phrasing
Learn how to jam in Dorian, there you got it.
Listen to Peter Green and like Doug said, learn to jam in Dorian.
What are the chances if him doing Eli Santana (of Holy Grail and lead player on the "go deep!" Lp)
He's so good
metalmadman12804 because he a sin to my ears
Habits of Kim thaiyl of Soundgarden!!
Thank-you for relevant 2018 guitar habits! It's next level! 🙌🤘
Amazing content! Keep up with the videos, excited about taking a look at more of those
Great. Video. I’m a big fan of you and Tremonti and it’s great to see a breakdown for guitarists.
Tremonti is the greatest song writer to have ever lived in my opinion
Loved your take on the Buried Alive intro solo!
Great video. Liked how you broke down his soloing style. I’ve always said Tremonti plays in the key of Tremonti.
I'm a HUGE Tremonti fan so I really enjoyed this.
Such an amazing concept
I think Mark would be impressed at how spot on this is... bravo dude
Start off with perhaps my favorite tremonti solo. This is gonna be good
As for the next Habits video, the only guitarist I'm really interested to see your take on his style that you haven't covered yet would be Nuno Bettencourt.
Very good description of playing tremonti style !!
I'm glad you mentioned the legato and pinky/ring finger thing coz I've been trying to get that right for a while and whenever I play it's always a sticking point for me like it never sounds quite right. I'm intermediate level so I still have a lot to learn but I'm glad that I'm not alone in thinking that part can be a bit tricky when learning to play.
Awesome video man. Mark Tremonti kicks ass.
I noticed the major third too! Glad im not alone. Thunder drop tune riffs, with that resolution is killer
Great vid man! Really enjoyed that! 👍
Love your vids keep up the great content!!🤟🤟
Thanks Tyler Mark Tremonti is one of my favorite guitar players

Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold
Dan Donegan
Hiriam Bullock
Habits of Carlos Santana or Randy Rhoads, no one ever does videos on them
Missael Jimenez Hernandez because emulating their styles is impossible for the simple minded.
That Tremonti-like riff you came up with is actually pretty sick, I'd listen to it if it was a whole song for sure because it really grabs your attention.
Habbits of Tyler Larson!
Yoni Kup just John Mayerize everything and you have a Tyler Larson in you 😆
\m/ Mervinator \m/ couldnt disagree more but i can get your point =)
Why the fuck you have like 3 top comments lol
I've used the open 5th tunings, my favorite one is open C 5 tuning (CGCGCC) I have a tremonti-esque clean riff on. Also that was slick playing of buried alive
Habits of Richie Kotzen!!!
You nailllllllllled this!
Yesss Mark is my favourite guitarist, I want that Wah pedal but don't have enough money :/
Habits of John Petrucci!
Enough stuff to create an entire channel.
You got that Tremonti sound just right!
The man the myth the legend
Mark is my idol🤟🤟
Subscribed. Great vid.
Any video that starts with the Buried Alive solo is gonna be good.
Another thing to his playing, a lot of songs from Tremonti and Alter Bridge are in 6/8 and only sometime 4/4.
Sound Wah set by mark tremonti Nice
Shit yea! Tremonti.
Thought his guitar was gonna explode out of his hands when I saw AB in Minneapolis.
It's awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That Tremonti-like riff you played S L A P P E D
Habits of Paul Gilbert!
Yoni Kup
Watch his intense rock dvd. It’s a very old video that has every luck Paul has ever played in his entire career...
i saw it but i would love to see more about his modern work such as "fuzz universe" and "hurry up"
Have a sixteen inch pinky
What would be a recommended delay setup to mimic this sound used in the video for Tremonti? Is it Reverb and delay?
What did you think of the new tremonti album? Loved that album so I am going to see them live in Manchester, England in December and I can’t wait 🤘🤘🤘
Greatest guitarists ever
Im interested to know what amp/settings your using and the various pedals your using to get that tone. Ive been looking to replicate that tone for quite a while. Please help
Great video!
How about habits of Adrian Smith next? My favorite guitarist ♥
Buried alive!!!
Habits of synyster Gates
WE NEED THIS
[ *INSERT YOUR TROOO METAL FAN/GUITAR PLAYER JOKE "JUST STICK UP THE GUITAR INTO YOUR ASS" OR " JUST SUCK BALLS" RIGHT HERE* ]
Yes synyster gates
Fuck yes
Who is better guys? I mean who is more talented/skilled guitar player? Mark Tremonti or Synyster Gates?
You’re a wizard
Hey, I have been thinking latly and I've been listening alot to Charles Bradley and have been really drawn into the guitar works of theirs.
Habits of Charles Bradley band?
Brent Hindes of Mastodon.. Love this series btw
absolutely shreddin', i just found out about alter bridge the other being a fan of creed for a long time without knowing its the same band without scott stapp. keep rockin''!!!!
soke destroyer complety different songwriting and music style
Well what i don't like about alter bridge is that they're lacking that heaviness that creed has. alter bridge a too melow for me. or if you can recommend some relatively heavier stuff i'd really like that
soke destroyer check out slip to the void that song is heavy af
Also check out the last hero and cry of Achilles, they sound more like proggressive rock with a hint of metal
soke destroyer check out the songs “Bleed it Dry” “Farther Than The Sun” “The Other Side” and “Island of Fools” and tell me that Alter Bridge is mellow and not way heavier than Creed
lol i'll surely check all those out
At 6:00, that actually sounds like a chord very similar to the opening of Coeur d'Alene. Like, the absolute first note that you hear in the song. Just thought that was kind of funny since you were talking about how that chord sounds exactly like Tremonti, not sure if it was him or Myles Kennedy that wrote that riff though.
Good video
Habits of Kim Thayil, Mike Mccready, Jerry Cantrell
habit of marty friedman and jeff loomis
Guitar habits of Tosin Abasi from Animals as Leaders next please! He is my favorite guitarist!
Great video man, just subscribed! What about your gear? How do you record?
Have u done George Lynch, he has such a unique lead style
5:59 oh yeah. Pretty much the first notes of Coeur d’Alene off of AB III
Can you do a habits of synyster gates please!!!! Music is win!
Do a habits of Synister Gates
Synyster!!
Who is better? Synyster Gates or Mark Tremonti?
The exotic habits of Marty Friedman please!
14:30 it's actually DADGAD if you guys are wondering about the tuning Open D5.
It's not Open D, it's Open D5
@@lillaxxitiv1501 ik it's actual open D5 tuning that Mark Tremonti uses.
I think it would be interesting to see a habits of kurt cobain (or any of the grunge dudes), cause although i know his thing is powerchords, his solos are actually kind of interesting
Habits of Rory Gallagher... Go on lad, get it!
Be a literal god
oh guitar habits! I thought this was going to be about what he does all day. when he eats, goes to the can, etc. :)
What is the check out code at Fret 12 for?
