Action Figures come in all sizes. Marvel Legends are now the gold standard in the six inch scale for figures from the Marvel Comic Universe. But for a kid in the 1980's - the 3.75 inch scale is what we know! I love what the Marvel team has done with the retro line - it reminds me so much of Mattel's Secret Wars figures. So, we are going to look and see if the Marvel Legends Retro 3.75 inch line is a worthy successor to the Secret Wars Line!

I love the line. I was 12 when I jumped into comics and one of the first ones I bought that was out at the time was Secret Wars 8-the black spiderman cover! Also had 4 Secret Wars figures- Captain America, Baron Zemo, Wolverine and Dr. Doom. Still have them with every shield insert! The Ghost Rider in this line looks amazing! Very 70s with that red motorcycle and little paint apps. What you would get back then where they didn't go super detailed or super accurate. Very nostalgic. Keep it up!
As someone on the autism spectrum, I love having things come with me. The Fantastic Four have gone on so many adventures with me. They are easy to fit in places and I can get them out to fiddle and play with.

It’s honestly so heart warming to see you have that spider man with the paint rub. Reminds me when I took a marvel legends spider man to Costa Rica to leave in my back pack. I would only take it out on the buss cause I was there for volunteer work.
I am very lucky to get to travel - and I take a Spidey with me wherever I go!
Man, that Human Torch figure gives me some real ToyBiz vibes. Absolutely love the look of these things, and have always been tempted to pick them up when I see 'em at Target.

It is simply the best collection of Marvel figures that Hasbro has released with the Kenner label, because they have enormous quality. The Kenner 3.75" retro Spider-Man is far superior to the 4" Spider-Man Epic. I don't think Hasbro will end the Marvel Kenner retro 3.75" line, it had enormous sales. But the price was very high and the stock in stores was very crowded. Plus they made the mistake of repeating figures. They still need to release more Spider-Man villains in their classic designs such as: Doctor Octupus, Lizard, Vultere, Mysterio, Kraven, Rhino, Shocker, Morbius, Tomston, Carnage and Kingpin. All those figures in their classic designs are money in sales... and villains from the Marvel Universe: Ultron, Red Skull, Super Skull, Mole Man, Mephisto, Beyonder, Sentry, Gladiator and of course Thanos in 4" and Galactus in 12" in their classic designs would be successful in sales... and from Marvel Superheroes: Iron Fist, Jessica Jones to complete the Defenders and the Spiderman 2099... It would be great to see in this collection all the remaining X-Men: Beast, Nightcrowler, Colosus, Kitty Pryte, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop with their villains: Mister Sinister, Omega Red, Sabretooth, Sebastian Saw and Apocalypse. Those characters in figures from this series are money in sales. But the problem is the licenses for the new X-Men 90s animation and its line of figures in Epic 4", I think the licenses clash... and Namor to complet the classic Avengers colection in his original desings.
In the end, the customers decide and I don't see the Marvel Epic 4" line figures having good sales, the Marvel Kenner Retro 3.75" figures had better sales.

It’s quite funny how a lot of those figures have heads that are just shrunk down versions of 1:12 scale marvel legends. Love it.

It's an awesome line and I've enjoyed for many of the same reasons. I think you summed it up perfectly with the plastic and how it feels to hold them. Immediately reminded of the old secret wars figures. They are TOYS but nail the retro and nostalgia enough to scratch the collection itch too.
Also really like how you've got the figures in the lunchbox. I've got mine in a shoebox currently and am kinda jealous of that Secret Wars lunchbox now.

Love your excitement because it is much like my reaction! I agree with your next guesses. The Secret Wars was a great series at the time; badly dated now but there was an innocence to that time in the comics.
I really, really hope this line comes back from hiatus - there is so much more they can do and the last releases were some of the best with Doom and Ghost Rider!
Yo whenever you get the chance to get the Marvel Legends Kenner Retro 3.75 inch figures of the Marvel characters Ghost Rider, Luke Cage, Doctor Doom and Spider Woman during summer of 2023. You should do an upgrade review for the Marvel Legends Kenner Retro 3.75 inch figures.
I love this line so much I totally plan on doing updated videos from time to time!

I had just gotten the retro card back 3.75 Green goblin from Amazon and the figure is fantastic
They put a lot of love into that one - truly, one of the best!

I really loved the Secret Wars figures when I was a kid.
I love these figures, they are so fun, I only have the Fantastic Four and the Normal and Symbiote Suit Spider-Man, but I love them. Also I love your enthusiasm, a lot of the other reviewers I have seen are much more cynical about it.
Thanks for watching - I don't have a problem with people having different opinions of toys and toy lines - I am totally cool with that. But there are some out there who it seems like their whole purpose is to hate on everything. That is not what I want this channel to be about

If the Marvel 3.75 line came back who do we need? Gambit, Colossus, Rogue, Hobgoblin, Doc Oc, maybe even a Galactus-a simple one much like the Sentinel but about 2 inches bigger, Kingpin, Juggernaut, Kang, Mystique, Blob, Toad, Thanos, Beta Ray Bill, Vulture, Hawkeye. They could do so many more.
I like them some are hard to find good price and nice card on them brings back good memories I hope to collect them all even the characters I don't really care for. their just cool and fun .great informative video

Things get weirder for Secret Wars in South America. Spider-Man had his own "castle" and Turbo Cycle repaint. The Secret Wars molds (and others) were later reused for a Cyborgs vs Vampire line called Future Warriors

Secret Wars toys predate me by a few years, so the nostalgia doesn't do much for me. That said, these are charming little figures and I like seeing all the 80s designs, which are either non existent or impossible to find in the articulated Marvel Legends line. I have a handful of characters I like (Silver Surfer, Hulk, Ms Marvel Carol, and Vision) but I'm very excited to see where they go with it. I'm personally hoping for Beyonder and She-Hulk (and as many outfit repaints as they can give me)
I would lose my mind if we got a Beyonder figure!!!

My dad gave his issues for marvel age 1-26 but he lost 11 when he was 30
The 80s secret wars figures arms and legs were made far better to play with then these new marvel legends small figures because the way they made the arms and legs much farther. apart. It's just better then the modern ones to play with because They focused more on the playability of the figures way back then then now. when it comes to less articulated figures. back inn 1984 and 85. .But these little modern marvel legends got far more figures. Then the secret wars toy lines . . And it's really just to give you that nostalgic feel to the marvel characters of the secret wars figure line of 1984 and 85. version even if it didn't last long. And they made figures that weren't inn the comics of the series. The old 80s secret wars figures still beats the new little less articulated of today. .Because it's less durable. And the arms and legs are to close to the figure. To play with like the secret wars version. It feels stiff. And . It's mostly made to just Stand and the vibrant colors makes them really stand out to remind us why we loved these Marvel characters and just a reminder of the old marvel figures . and it does take us back to the secret wars toy line. . But . Then also. The 80s version are not just made more durable and more playable. Because that's what it was made for then these new modern ones now. because by now we have more advanced articulations. With the Marvel legends figures that are bigger by now . These new small figure I see it more like to just get that good nostalgic feel from when we got our secret wars story line figure of the 80s but nothing more. But inn my opinion . they are very good collectables . To put on display. And it's cool details they made them with .and it's close accuracy. To the comics. looking. Awesome . . . I'm pretty sure they are just as addictive as the 80s secret wars version. Because of how they look. The nice vibrant colors. And more being made by Mattel .. far more then the secret wars toy line version of the 80s they are really nice . To collect. Inn my opinion. But can you imagine how great if they used the same body mold as the the secret wars story line now from the the 80s . Which would have blown these new ones out of the water but I think these little modern figures from Mattel marvel legends. are really Awesome . Too. Just My opinion Nice review . I think Captain Marvel (Photon) could reuse the Storm cape and Wasp could have the similar wing setup that Falcon does. Would love a She-Hulk but she would NOT use the female buck so to me she is the long shot and Prof X is the long shot with him sitting straight-legged in his wheel chair. Colossus would be interesting but is the venom/Hulk buck to bulky for him? I think he would go on the Thor buck. Would also love a Giant Man on the Sentinel buck. I think Galactus might be too small on that buck.

These ar much smaller and not quite there. I feel like they should've made two lines. A revamped Marvel UNIVERSE 3.75 and a neo secret wars line at 4"
We are all entitled to our own opinions, but I think the new Super Powers are trash

Sculpts aside the figures ar at least close to the same size, could be licensing issues that make them different.
I remember them marvel secret wars figure s by mattel i had captain America figure and i had spider man red and blue also i had iron man they were 6 inch too and to be honest i wish they would make them 6 inch again i cant stand 3.75
